Hana's theme played as a mix of cheers and jeers descended on the arena, the greenette steadily making her way down the ring ramp, paying close attention to the people in the crowd around her...and despite her wearing her mask, making uncomfortable eye contact with people in the audience who had their phones out, the poor souls slightly startled as they realized they were being watched by the Ogre. Under her mask, Hana chuckled to herself before finishing her entrance, stepping onto the ring apron before entering the ring, taking off her coat and mask as she stuck her tongue out into the crowd with a massive grin on her face, before turning to the ref in the ring, grabbing a microphone as she looked around the audience once more before speaking:
"I am not a woman who puts out challenges lightly...especially for a belt that needs no challenge to fight for it. If I wanted to, I could've jumped Hazel backstage...or at the parking lot...or out in the streets, beat her bloody, and took the belt off her bloodied hands."
The jeers sounded across the arena, before Hana spoke again:
"But that's not my style. And so I will put this out to our gracious LAWless champion. If she goes to Europe for Fight The LAW, she is not coming back to Japan with the belt...and if she doesn't go...well, then back to the original idea. So Hazel...if you aren't a coward...let's talk." Hana would say with a sadistic smile on her face...
Hazel was walking backstage with the LAWLESS title over her shoulder after recently beating the former champion Rylie Marshal. She wasn't booked for a match tonight, she wasn't in her wrestling gear, but that didn't mean she was safe; the LAWLESS title could be fought for anytime, any place. It was like having a constant target on her back. Hazel wasn't going to give in to paranoia, though, she was going to carry the belt with pride, to bring order and prestige to something seen as chaotic and Lawless!
The Scotswoman stopped in front of a television after giving it a glance out of curiosity. The feed was focused on the arena, a woman clad in green and a mask was entering the ring. A few moments later, the woman was on the microphone speaking, and almost immediately, she made it known she was gunning for Hazel, but instead of just jumping her in the few places she mentioned, she wanted to meet Hazel face to face.
The Scotswoman took a deep breath. She was anything but a coward, so if Hana wanted to chat, Hazel would chat, if she wanted to fight, the Highlander was going to give her a pounding! Heading back down the hall, Hazel quickly made her way to the curtain, giving a staff member a nod before they started her new entrance music. Entrance Music
Hazel stepped out onto the stage, the crowd cheering causing her to smile slightly. Hazel would look towards the ring, staring at Hana for a few moments before making her way down the ramp, high fiving a few fans along the way before climbing up the steel steps onto the ring apron. Hazel glanced at the strange woman, making sure she wasn't about to get jumped or sucker punched before she stepped between the ropes, joining her and the referee inside of the ring. Approaching the referee, Hazel would grab the other microphone and look Hana in the eyes, studying her face paint for a few seconds before raising the microphone to speak.
"You wanted me, I'm here. Just be careful what you wish for, lass." The Scotswoman said bluntly before giving Hana a chance to speak.
Hana threw her challenge with knowledge that the champion wasn't so cowardly so as to ignore her. As Hana didn't need to openly challenge the champion, the true purpose of this was to stake her claim for the title, to showcase that she isn't a coward just relying on underhanded tactics. She was a fighter who was going to beat her rivals by any means necessary...
Much like how Hana predicted, Hazel would respond to her challenge, albeit definitely taken by surprise by the greenette's challenge, walking out in her street attire with her title, as the Scotswoman would greet the fans before climbing the ring, and addressing Hana, the face-painted woman bringing the microphone to her lips:
"Simple enough. Come to Europe. You get your ass kicked. I take your title, and come back to Japan the LAWLESS champion. Could start in the ring, or in the streets...but the result would be the same..." Hana would make her proclamation...
Hazel never turned down a challenge, especially from someone who tried to threaten her pride. The Scotswoman herself had won the title from an open challenge, and now, before she even had another match, another woman was calling her out with a challenge, considering the nature of the LAWLESS title this could have just been a trap, a ploy to get her jumped, but Hazel faced that danger head on, competent she could handle that kind of threat if it came to it.
But as she joined the Japanese woman in the ring, it seemed clear this wasn't a trap, and if Hana did want to hurt her here and now, it seemed obvious she had no issue doing it anywhere and at any time in the building.
Hazel lowered her microphone as Hana began to speak, adjusting her grip and how the title rested on her shoulder as the woman spoke confidently, seeming set on cutting Hazel's reign short as the crowd leaned in with anticipation, as Hazel remained quiet for a few moments before raising the mic again with a small smirk. "You know, you didn't even have to come out here to fight me, we could have done it out back. But I'm glad you did, because when we're in Rome, I think I'm going to enjoy every agonizing second of it, and when its over, you're going to be left disappointed as you're washing off the blood and what's left of that face paint" Hazel said accepting her opponent's challenge before letting her words simmer for a few moments.
"Because I'm not just in this for one match. This might be the LAWLESS belt, but it's under new order!" The Scotswoman proclaimed before taking a couple of steps towards her future opponent until she was standing in the center of the ring.
From a "monster" like Hana, people likely didnt expect a promo. Perhaps they expected this to be a trap and that they would get the "match" for the belt right now. It was, after all, a title defended 24/7.
Hana however, had another mission with this challenge. A big show like Fight the LAW was a good way to raise her stock in the company. Even bigger way to do it? Challenge for the belt. And challenging for something she could technically fight for at any time, specifically warning the champ ahead of time, would get more eyes on her eventual title victory.
And Hazel got the right idea as she addressed Hana back, talking big words before their match, before stepping forward, Hana stepping towards the champion with a manic smile on her face as she looked straight into the champion's eyes. The cameras went off for the preview shots for Fight the LAW!
Hazel was never one for long, drawn out speeches, but when she spoke during a promo, it was usually important, and people seemed to listen. Tonight, the LAWLESS title was once again being put on the line as it always was, but not here and now, but at one of the company's grandest events. Two heavyweights were on a collision course, The Highlander vs The Ogre, one on one, no rules, in one of the world's greatest cities, Rome!
Hazel lowered her mic as Hana approached, letting her one arm rest at her side as she grabbed the title with her free hand, taking it off her shoulder before raising it above her and Hana's head, letting the camera's flash as her stoic expression met Hana's manic smile face to face in the center of the ring in a stair down, perhaps if either women wanted, they could have began the right then and there. Still, it seemed both women wanted to save this for an official match, each seeming to have an equally sadistic desire after tonight.
Hazel had a feeling she was going to love every second of this like never before.
