LAW Apex Match: Doctor Fabulous vs. Vera Sapphire

Doc Fab had managed to kick out, but her problems were still getting worse. The crowd tried to rally her side, at the very least. She could make that out with the pounding in her skull. But that pain was making it so hard to focus on doing anything but laying there at the moment. Vera Sapphire had been doing a number on her, keeping her unable to recover in this match. Those big moves were punishing, and despite the Doctor's best efforts to cripple her opponent, it wasn't doing nearly enough at the moment.

Groaning, the Wrestling Professor tried crawling away a bit before Sapphire took a big handful of her hair, pulling her up. She let out a soft cry of pain, body arching with the angle that she was being pulled as she got to her feet on wobbly legs. It took a while though. Like Vera was getting her own willpower to make her next move happen. Fabulous thought she might be able to do something. She tried to angle herself, she tried feeling to clutch her waist, or grab at her arm or hip. Anything to get her some kind of leverage here. But just as she seemed to have found a winning solution, her body was yanked up into the air. Barely even sure what was happening, Doctor Fabulous panicked, trying to find a way out. With a loud, panicked yell, she knew she was in an extremely bad position.

The Sapphire Waterfall came, and The Good Doctor's head crashed into the mat. She went still at first, completely dazed. She didn't know where she was. She didn't know how to react. She didn't know what was going on. She just knew one thing: move. Something deep inside her had still been put into her that she needed to get into motion. She had a plan. She enacted the plan. And Doctor Fabulous had to use that plan to her benefit. Move. Get away. Just don't stay there.

And so, after a moment, Doc Fab begin to very slowly roll over onto her side... and she flopped onto her front. And she rolled once more... slowly. And she ended up on her back. That was all she had left. That was all she could do. But she knew she needed to move once more. She needed to get on her front. That was all she needed. And then Doctor Fabulous rolled yet again, and she was on her front. And she went still after that. No more thoughts. No more desperate reminders. No more strength to get away. She just needed to hope now.

”MMMMMmmmmghhh…”, Vera would moan in pain, her leg giving her trouble after she fell onto her hips to deliver her finishing move. But it was done! Fabulous was done! All that she needed to do was pin her and finish the Apex match! Only one problem. Right as Vera was about to press her body against Fabulous’s for a pin…the blonde rolled away! She managed to avoid the pin by using the last of her strength to get away from the blunette!

”Hey! Aaaaaaah…g-get back here!”

Vera gave chase, dragging herself on her arms…but also trying to use her legs to catch Fabulous quickly…

Big mistake.

”YAAAAAH!!!”

She pressed her hurting leg against the ground, trying to get herself quicker towards Fabulous! Only to result in her aggravating the hurt her limb experienced in the match. Desperate to get to the pin as Fabulous got away, she practically threw herself over the blonde, trying to swiftly turn her onto her back to finally pin her after a good 15 seconds of hitting her move!

Doctor Fabulous had made it away from Vera Sapphire. She only felt her opponent's finger tips on her as she managed a slow roll away from her. Her mind swirled in confusion and pain as she lay there, finally stopping on her front as she took deep breaths of air. She struggled, trying to bring her head back into the game. Her mind was always her most valuable weapon in a wrestling ring, more than most other competitors. Doc Fab had to make it happen. She needed to pull herself together or risk losing it. She had gone so far. Her unconscious mind knowing precisely what to do. Deep down, she knew she had to keep fighting. She had to keep being Fabulous.

But then Vera got on top of her. The blonde's body was pulled onto her back again. Fabulous stared at the light as her stronger opponent went for the cover, placing her whole weight on top of the Wrestling Professor. The referee went down, starting the pin count.

"ONE!"

The Good Doctor felt herself becoming more aware. This match might be over. Her cranium was pounding, and she became even more aware of the pain she was in. Her body trembled, taking in a deep breath of air.

"TWO!"

Her form shook even more as she tried to push her body more. Doc Fab's muscles rebelled. The pain was panging through her now, starting at her mind and drifting through the rest of her. But she needed to make it happen. She needed to push. She had put forth too much effort now to lose--to lose again. All of that effort and clever maneuvering and actions. But it hurt. It was hard. But she needed to push. She needed to see the damn thing through. She needed to be god damn Fabulous.

"THRE--"

Doctor Fabulous' shoulder shot up, her body curling as she panted. The sudden jostling in her body making her head hurt even more. Everything tensed in her muscles as she remained in that position underneath Vera Sapphire. The crowd roared their approval as Doctor Fabulous barely survived her opponent's finisher--a certainty she would have lost had Vera's leg not finally given in to the pain that Doc Fab put it through. Were it not for the Good Doctor's intuition to do everything she could to put just enough distance between them.

Doctor Fabulous still had a chance now. She could recover. She could try to get a win. But right now, everything in her focused on that kick out, and not much was left after that.

This was it, Vera told herself. There was no way Fabulous could escape now. Even with as much time that had passed after she hit her finishing move, having your head drilled straight into the canvas was not something a normal human being walked out from easily.

”ONE!”

Vera felt the Good Doctor’s body move underneath her…she regained her senses after the move…but surely, she had no strength to actually kick out…right?

”TWO!”

Fabulous began to actually move underneath her! Vera tried to dig her body in, to forcibly keep the smaller woman pinned to the canvas, to make sure she couldn’t kick out!

”THRE—-NO!”

And there it was. With one hard motion, Fabulous pushed her arm into the air, briefly pushing Vera off her…just enough to separate her shoulder from the canvas to kick out!

”No…”, Vera complained, grinding her teeth, as she punched the ground: ”No! No!”

Swiftly, angrily, Vera’s hands reached for her rival’s hair, trying to pull her foe up to her feet, her back to blunette’s front. If her first finisher didn’t work, her second one will - her Gem Breaker!

…of course, in her rage, she forgot about her hurting leg.

Right as she tried to lift the blonde up!

”YAAAAAAH!!!”

The combined weight of both of them on her leg stunned Vera, immediately dropping Fabulous as she fell onto her rear, holding her hurting leg!

Doctor Fabulous continued to lay there after her kick out. She cringed in pain, panting loudly as Vera Sapphire still lay over her. She had managed to kick out. She shouldn't have--she really shouldn't have been able to do so. But defying all odds, the Wrestling Professor made it happen. Everything she had done just paid off for her so far. She heard Vera yelling out in frustration--she could certainly understand that. She still mustered a meager smile as she heard her punching the mat beside her. It was taking the mental toll on Sapphire now. All that doubt, swelling up. It was precisely as she predicted, and she was certain that her bringing it up made Vera feel that much more concerned.

Before Doc Fab could even make it onto her back to get some breathing room, she felt her hair being grabbed and let out a soft whine. Again with the hair. Those blonde locks were burning in her scalp at this point, but thankfully, or unfortunately depending on the preference, her head pounding in pain was overwhelming that feeling. She was yanked up, her legs stumbling underneath her as she was being pulled up. She faced the crowd, where they continued to rally her on. Fabulous looked out of it still as she lulled lightly. Her other finisher... what was her other finisher? How would she counter? The Good Doctor needed a plan, and she needed one quick.

And then she was lifted up into the air and as soon as Vera put all of the burden of weight back on Doc Fab, she buckled. Vera fell and unceremoniously dropped the blonde as well. She let out a groan, wincing at the landing. The leg gave out. It gave out again. All of Vera's strength wasn't enough to overcome the damage that Fabulous had done, whittling her down. And the Russian's attempts to put her away once and for all were dashed, leaving them both on the mat once more. Palms on the mat, Doctor Fabulous drug herself forward before looking back at Vera. She was sitting, holding that leg again.

Fabulous hung her head, pausing for a moment. She heard the crowd screaming "FAB-U-LOUS! FAB-U-LOUS!" as she waited. There was a time for a plan. There was a time to meticulously think three steps ahead. To trick her opponent into something, and then catch her in a grand plan. Gnashing her teeth, Doctor Fabulous steadied herself and got to one knee as she turned to face Sapphire. This was no such time. Now, it was just time to deliver as much pain as she possibly could in one single moment, and then deal with the aftermath.

The Wrestling Professor pulled her arm back, and then she let out a cry as she threw herself forward and sent an Uppercut Palm Strike directly towards Vera's chin. It was the Prescription, one of Doc Fab's signature maneuvers. And it was one meant to stop her opponent's dead when she could connect. And Fabulous hoped that she could throw enough behind that strike to stop Vera Sapphire and allow herself an opportunity to get her wits about her.

Vera was getting angry. Naturally, she expected her rival to do her best in trying to defeat her… but she was growing frustrated with how difficult an opponent Doc Fab was, as she successfully managed to outwrestle her physically and mentally! Even now, the chants of “FAB-U-LOUS!” from the crowd were getting to the Russian, especially after her failure to lock in her finishing hold.

She punched her leg, motivating herself to get back to her feet, having spent too much time on recovering already…with Fabulous likely having cleared her head after Vera’s finishing move.

Right as she got up to a knee, however…

”MMMMMGGGH!!!”

The blonde would deliver a hard open palm uppercut to Vera’s jaw, dazing the blunette!

Doctor Fabulous let out a yell as she pushed through with her Prescription. The palm strike connected to Vera Sapphire's chin. The bigger girl didn't fall though. She didn't go down. As Fabulous was on all fours beside Sapphire, she was surprised. The Russian remained that tough. But she couldn't stop. She would have to put Vera down. Even if her head was still throbbing. Her neck and shoulders cried for relief. And she was already feeling the exhaustion setting in. Doc Fab paused, closing her eyes. Three deep breaths. Focus.

In, out.

In, out.

In and out.

Vera was likely not taken down by anyone Doc's size. The Wrestling Professor knew that. She could surprise Vera now, and then knock her out enough to get the pinfall. But she needed to use a bigger move to make it happen. The palm strike wasn't enough--she needed something huge.

In. Out.

Fabulous was going to drop Vera on her head.

She didn't have the strength to do so traditionally, and she knew that as she got behind Sapphire suddenly, grabbing her around the waist and pulling her up to more of a standing position with one motion. "Aaaaah... Ah..." cried out Fabulous, trying to stifle the yells of pain and struggle as she managed to use most of her strength to get Sapphire up. The hard part was done. Mostly. The rest was hard too. Gritting her teeth, Doc Fab centered herself once more.

In.

Out.

She just needed momentum now to make up for it. Make up for the size, make up for the strength, make up for the exhaustion. Just to make up for every single thing working against the Good Doctor right now. And she threw her whole body into Vera Sapphire's back, rushing her into the nearby ropes with everything she had. That hurt leg working with her because Vera wouldn't be able to plant herself on the mat properly to stop her. Doctor Fabulous stayed snug against Vera as she hit the ropes, and instantly they were both sprung backwards.

Doc Fab kept a firm grasp on Sapphire's waist as she threw herself back with the momentum. The much bigger Russian came rolling with her. And then Doctor Fabulous used that same momentum to bring her and up Vera up. And then, she threw everything she had into flinging her opponent up and over her head with a Rolling German Suplex she called Head Case!

The crowd erupted loudly at the maneuver! The incredible momentum used to make it happen as she sent Vera onto the back of her head, hurling the bigger opponent. And even more impressive, Doctor Fabulous kept the bridge, her feet planted on the mat as she held onto Sapphire tight! She just needed to hold on and pin her stronger opponent down!

She was already Fabulous enough by getting the move down. She just needed to be Fabulous for three seconds longer!

Vera kept standing. Dazed, she knew that going down meant Fabulous could capitalize and trap her in another hold to torture her hurting leg. As much as it hurt to keep herself up…she kept standing, balling her fists, trying to shake off the cobwebs…

And she did so…she realized the blonde wasn’t in front of her anymore!

”H-huh?”

Suddenly, she felt arms grabbing her from behind, Fabulous lifting Vera to her feet!

”Sh-she wouldn’t…right?”, Vera thought to herself as she tried to break the hold at her waist…only for Fabulous to suddenly force her into the ropes! Vera attempted to ground herself…only to remember, once more, that her leg was hurt beyond belief!

”Auh!”

With that, Fabulous was free to bring Vera into the ropes… and, using momentum of Vera hitting them mid-run, she would German Suplex her…before hopping over the blunette…and Suplexing her again, bring the Russian right on her head, stunning her as Fabulous kept the bridge! Ref would jump to count the fall…with Vera unable to muster strength to kick out!

”ONE!”

After the Head Case hit, Doctor Fabulous grit her teeth and kept bridging, knowing she needed to hold onto it and she could get her win. This had to be the only thing that was keeping her from victory right now. As sweat dripped from her brow and down her body, she let out a soft whimper as she held on. The pressure was on top of her shoulders and neck now as she held onto that bridge.

"ONE!"

Suddenly, Doc Fab collapsed. "Ahhhhh..." she gasped out as she released Vera. She panted loudly, arching her shoulders in pain and rolling onto her front. With a low, agony-filled groan, the Wrestling Professor cursed herself. Those powerbombs and slams had all targeted her neck and shoulders. Keeping that bridge put too much pressure on them. She used all of the strength she had in them to even hit the Head Case in the first place. To heave a girl that much bigger than her over her head like that was already insane enough. To expect her to keep that bridge as well, without her body being fresh in the match was wishful thinking.

But she could still win now. Vera Sapphire would be hurting and stunned from that impactful maneuver. Pushing herself off the mat, she let out a sharp gasp, her arms trembling underneath her.

In.

Out.

And then Doctor Fabulous crawled over to Sapphire as quick as she could. Scrambling into that cover, she swiveled over to Vera's opposite side so she could hook her hurt leg and locked her hands together. Swallowing hard, she kept her head down as she held in the pin as tightly as she could. This was it. She had to hope that her move was enough to keep Vera down now. That it was enough to just keep her down for three more seconds. That's all she needed.

"ONE!"

"TWO!"

Vera grew scared. No matter how much she tried, she couldn’t kick out, her body wasn’t listening to her instructions! Her vision was blurred…the only sense properly working was sound…sound as Vera heard the ref call the count!

One.

Two…

Vera could’ve sworn she heard 3. Could’ve sworn she heard the bell ringing…but no. As Fabulous collapsed in her bridge, the ref, slightly stunned, would showcase 2 fingers in the air for the bellkeeper. The match would go on for a little bit longer.

…even if that little bit longer might’ve just been 3 more seconds!

Fabulous swiftly got on top of Vera, pressing her smaller body into her’s grabbing the blunette’s leg, trying a regular cover to win this match!

…only this time…

”ONE!”

“TWO!”

“THRE—-NO!”

…Vera would be the one to break the hold, somehow regaining the sense in her limbs enough to jerk her body up, to kick out of the blonde’s pinfall attempt!
