An interruption. And things were going so well, too.

Blair Dame’s nose wrinkled as the music - if you could call what sounded like a cheap garage band warming up ‘music’ - played, signaling that another party was entering the conversation. In other words, a complication, though she was a tad confused on the identity. She had done a decent enough job of avoiding real conflict since she came to LAW, she had no rivals that she knew of. By elimination, she assumed this had something to do with Severin.

As it turned out, she was correct.

She looked on, assessing the situation as what she could only describe as the most insultingly boring man she’d ever seen came out, flanked by half dozen security guards who could’ve been clones. The brown jacket, the light blue vest, the too-clean haircut, and the coup de grace, of all things, a bow tie. She didn’t know him by name, but she had seen this twiddling little caricature of a man backstage from time to time, and she marked him as no one of real importance. Apparently, that had been an understandable but incorrect assumption.

The man was a chore to listen to, one of those types who clearly liked the sound of his voice. Not that she was one to talk, but if one was going to stretch a point out, it should be done in an interesting fashion. This man had no such talent. Blunt, inelegant, he made his feelings on Black Severin known, and that of his ladyfriend, as well. Not the first time these two met, she gathered.

It did not involve Blair Dame. In fact, the man didn’t even seem to notice her, more focused on the pair. She could have let them be and discussed a match with Severin at a better time, one with less friction tied to it.

But that would be so much more boring. Pardon, monsieur. She tilted to the side, just enough to put herself in front of Severin and get the man’s attention, before she shifted back. ”Forgive me, but I could not help but notice that, in the midst of your…” She rolled her wrist about as she searched for the right word. ...gasconnade, that you said some disparaging words about any woman that would put her arms, willingly, around young Severin.”

Blair Dame canted her head to the side with the slightest of smiles and a wild gleam in her eyes, like a cat who’d just spied a particularly tasty looking mouse in the kitchen. ”I am curious, was the inelegant invective meant to include me, as well? Or is your choice of words simply as poor as your choice in attire?”
