Battle of the Immortals: Daughters of Athena vs Divine Stars

“Is that all you got? Don’t tell me you’re going to throw in the towel already!” Korina taunted as she cranked up the pressure on the other woman’s spine. So far, the match had gone mostly in the sisters favor and the former footballer looked to keep up the momentum. The crowd still seemed split on who they were supporting. Some were chanting for Korina to make her opponent tap. Others were chanting for Kate to not give up. It was still early in the match so Korina wasn’t sure that she’d really be able to get a submission at this point, but at the very least she could wear her opponent down.

Kate could hear her opponents' taunts as the pressure continued to build up. "Gah... you really think... this is... enough... to make me... tap... you... got a lot.. to learn." said the Divine Star in a defiant tone. She would continue to pull herself closer and closer to the ropes. Each inch she took made the pain get worse, but Kate had been in similar spots in the past. The Divine Star would stretch out her arms and grab the ropes, earning herself a rope break.

Nate had been watching the whole thing and was growing frustrated. We wanted to do something, interfere or get into the fight, but the match was still a bit early on. He would continue to bide his time, but if things kept going south, he was going to act soon.

Korina continued to work over the younger woman’s spine with the Boston Crab even as Kate crawled closer to the ropes. Korina didn’t feel the need to try and stop her, opting to let her opponent expend energy in her struggle. She felt herself getting pulled across the ring until the referee called for Korina to break the hold, indicating that Kate had managed to grab the bottom rope.

Korina complied, dropping Kate’s legs and getting off of her opponent. She stepped back a bit while she waited for the younger woman to get back up. Then she charged forward, throwing her leg out for a Bicycle Kick.

Kate managed to get to the ropes and earned herself the rope break. Finally being released, Kate would exhale; her back was killing her at the moment, but at least it wasn't getting any worse. The Divine Star would use the ropes to get back to her feet, wanting to get back into the fight.

Nate, on the other hand, decided to take action. He would run to one of the neutral turnbuckles before climbing a step, slapping his hands together and yelling Kate's name. He would then run back to his turnbuckle and do the same thing. He kept repeating the process a few times, trying to get the crowd to Kate's side.

The female Divine Star then saw Korina coming at her for a bicycle kick. She would side-step out of the way, letting her fellow goddess's leg get caught in the rope before moving behind her to get her waist. If she managed to do so, she would attempt to lift her up and then fall back for a german suplex.

While Korina was setting up the Bicycle Kick, her attention was drawn to the only male participant of the match going back and forth between the turnbuckles and shouting his partner’s name. It seemed as though he was trying to rally the crowd behind her. It did seem to be working as most of the crowd was now chanting for Kate.

Korina put that out of her mind and charged forward for the kick. However, Kate moved out of the way at the last second, leaving Korina’s leg to get caught up in the rope. The former footballer managed to free her leg without much issue, but that gave the younger woman time to get behind her, wrap her arms around her waist, and lift her up for a suplex.

“Argh!” Korina cried out as she was sent crashing down to the canvas.

Kate managed to dodge the kick and get behind her opponent. She managed to wrap her arms around her fellow divine's stomach and pushed her chest up against her back. Then she lifted Korina before falling back and letting gravity do its work. With that, her opponent crashed into the canvas, and Kate would release her. The Divine Star back was still hurting, but she would get back on her feet.

Nate was now back at his turnbuckle, watching the entire thing. He would give some applause before then extending his hand out for a tag. Seeing her chance, Kate would tag him in. Now the legal wrestler, Nate, would climb the turnbuckle while Kate would move to grab Korina, trying to force her back to her feet and then lift her in the air before dropping her down onto her knee for an atomic drop. If the move was successful, Nate would follow it up with a missile drop kick, a quick combination move.

The tide of battle can change on a dime. One minute you could be in control and riding high. The next, you could be sprawled out on your back and vulnerable. The latter was the position Korina currently found herself in courtesy of the suplex Kate had delivered onto her. As she lay dazed on the canvas, Kate had taken the opportunity to tag in her partner. Though the male half of the Divine Stars was now the legal competitor, the female half wasn't done with Korina quite yet. Kate lifted Korina up and dropped her tailbone onto her knee with an Atomic Drop. Nate, who had climbed to the top rope, would then follow it up with a missile dropkick. The young man's feet collided with Korina's chest as she was being held by his partner, knocking her back down and leaving her reeling from the double team maneuver.

Kate had taken a beating and was already exhausted, but she had been in worse situations before and had managed. But things were starting to look up for her. Hitting Korina with that suplex and then tagging Nate was exactly what the Divine Stars needed to gain control of this match. Feeling the energy return to her, Kate advanced towards her blonde opponent, clutching her waist with her arms. The Divine Star hoisted her fellow blonde wrestler up before she descended to a single knee. This would send Korina crashing into Kate's knee for a brutal atomic drop.

As the action was happening in the square ring, on the apron, Nate would quickly scale the ropes and ascend onto the top of the turnbuckle. Now perched on the corner, he would vault off the ropes, catapulting himself into the air. Coming in like a meteor, he would extend his legs forward. The impact of his boots sent Korina barreling down and left the audience in shock and awe from the combined attack. Kate would loosen her vice grip and roll towards the ropes.

"Oh, what happened to all that confidence you had? Where you all bark and no bite? How about I show you what a real divine wrestler can do!" teased Nate, his voice filled with mockery and anticipation. Not missing a beat, he would stampede towards the ropes. The Divine Star would leap on the middle ropes, using them as a springboard to hurl himself into the sky. As he flew up in the air, he would lean back and adjust his body, attempting to crash right on top of Korina's stomach, trying to crush her between the floor and his body.

Having taken attacks from both Nate and Kate in rapid succession, Korina was left sprawled out on the mat. Eyes briefly shut as she grimaced in pain, she heard Nate moving for his next move more than she saw it. She heard his taunting words loud and clear though.

“Ugh! Don’t get cocky just because you got some offens-GAH!” Korina didn’t get to finish her sentence as Nate’s body came crashing down on her, turning her words into a cry of pain.

Nate's body would come hurling down and impact Korina like a hammer, nailing her down to the canvas. Hearing her torment was an utter delight to him. But the bigger prize was the roar of the crowd upon seeing the spectacle. This would cause the edge of his lips to move up as his eyes gleamed with confidence.

"Oh, what were you saying? Sorry, couldn't hear you over the roar of the crowd." he stated in a tone filled with mock affection.

With that, he would lie on top of Korina's body and attempt to hook one of her legs while he placed his elbow on her face to keep her down in a disrespectful manner. If this worked, he would effectively pin her, and the referee would start the count. The chances of winning were low, but you never knew, plus it would help destroy the enemy morale.

While this was happening, Kate would seize the ropes and place a single leg on top of the bottom rope, while she watched Xenia like a hawk. Her body was still feeling the punishment, but she needed to be ready to intercept the other wrestler in case she tried to run interference.
