Raya Ashberry vs. Valley Doll III - Youth In Revolt

Valerie blinked a few times, clearing the fog that the punches had created and bringing back some of her senses. She was no boxer, and while she could take a hit better than most, she was still getting used to the sensation, especially coming from someone with real power. Needless to say, her amateur wrestling career hadn't exactly prepared her for this.

By the time she was clearheaded again, her opponent was already on the move, shifting about and wrapping those long, bare legs around Valerie’s throat for a tight side headscissors. She croaked, clenched her teeth, and struggled in the hold, thrashing about for a moment before she got herself under control. Options were limited, there weren’t a lot of good ways to counter a hold like this.

Her first attempt? The ropes. Valerie dug her heels into the canvas and started to drag their body’s along towards the side of the ring, fighting for every inch of the way.

As she watched Valley trash around and struggle in the hold, Raya smirked cockily, put her arms behind her head comfortably and let out a sigh before laughing.

“Hey, what’s wrong, Dolly? Having a little bit of trouble getting some air? Maybe if you tap out and ask nicely, I might help you out a bit there!” She said while looking at Valley’s struggling form.

Then, as Valley got under control for a few seconds, Raya was about to taunt her again, asking if she wanted to give up, when Valley started dragging their bodies towards the side of the ring. Raya looked at the ropes for a moment, noting they were too far for Valley to reach for the moment. Raya herself had gotten lucky earlier by being near the ropes when Valley had gotten the best of her, but now she was in a decisive advantage and couldn’t afford to let Valley squirm out of this.

“Oh no you don't!" Raya yelled, getting out of her comfortable gloating position and reaching out to attempt to grab Valley’s leg in order to keep her from dragging herself to the ropes.

As cool as Valerie was trying to play it, she would be lying if she said getting called ‘Dolly’, didn’t grate on her just a bit. She was only barely tolerant of people calling her Valley Doll, having to be talked into taking the mantle from her parents, but Dolly? That was a step too far.

She did her best to ignore Raya as she continued the journey, leaving a trail of sweat in their wake. She was making decent progress, too, all things consider, and it seemed her opponent realized that as well, as she made some moves to put an end to it.

Valerie grunted her disapproval as her leg was seized, folding her over at an awkward position and ending her hopes for the ropes. It wasn’t all bad, though, since she still had one free leg. In a position like this, she knew what to do with it.

Gritting her teeth, Valerie folded up as much as she could, swung her leg around, and tried to kick Raya in the face, hoping it would hurt the woman enough to make her leg go and back off for a moment.

Raya managed to grab her opponent’s leg and hold her over at a position so that she wouldnt be able to grab the ropes, but again didnt account for the fact that she could now counter Raya herself now that she had brought herself close enough.

“Urghh!” Raya recoiled in pain as the kick hit her right in the jaw, stunning her completely. She let go of Valley and fell onto her back on the mat, completely dazed, breathing heavily and unable to move for a few seconds, which would be more than enough time for Valley to make a move of her own now that Raya was completely helpless and laid out. Raya tried to get a bearing of her surroundings but it was no use, her vision was completely blurry for the moment.

It had been a bit of a hail mary play, but it had worked out better than Valerie expected - her leg connected well enough on Raya to get the job done. She breathed deep, a long gasp, as the legs parted and her neck was freed, immediately enjoying the fresh air. She’d definitely avoid getting her head between this woman’s legs in the future.

Not the time to take a breather, though, as much as she wanted to. Instead, she moved in quick, scrambling over Raya’s body while the woman was dazed. The referee started to slide over, thinking she was going for a pin, but that wasn’t the idea she had in mind this time.

Valerie wrapped her arm around Raya’s head, securing a facelock, and proceeded to stand up, pulling the redhead to her feet along with her. As soon as they were both on solid feet, she reached over, pulled her opponent’s arm over her shoulder, planted her feet, and proceeded to lift the woman up, up, up, holding her high in the air.

Valerie waited a second, then tip over, fell back, and proceeded to slam Raya into the canvas with a vertical suplex, hammering her Raya with a wrestling classic.

“Nngh…” Raya watched helplessly as Valley put her in a facelock and pulled her up to her feet, where she would have fallen back down immediately had her opponent not lifted her up and prepared to slam her back into the mat.

“N-no…wait!” Raya pleaded, her vision now clear as she realized in horror and widened eyes what Valley was about to do to her, she had just enough time to process this and watch helplessly as she was slammed furiously on the mat and was sent back into that state of daze as she laid there.

Raya knew it couldn’t end here, her vision was swirling but still she used up all her strength to try and get up but her limbs that now felt like like jelly failed her and she fell back down, laying prone on her back like prey unable to resist her predator. She would use her last effort to roll over and try and crawl out of the ring for a chance to get out of this mess before Valley could pull off anything else.

Valerie brought Raya down and made a heavy crash, the sort of raucous noise that can only happen when two truly heavy bodies hit the canvas. It was an exhilarating feeling, too, she had to admit. She was much more used to suplexing smaller wrestlers, ones who weren’t close to her size. Getting to do this another solid body was a rare treat for her, and she was glad she pulled it off.

A moment after the impact, Valerie pulled her legs in, rocked back on her shoulder, then kick out and rose to her feet with a kip up, her boots slammed hard on the landing. She spun around to her opponent, ready to follow up, and-

She was gone.

It took Valerie a moment to realize Raya had retreated to the outside of the ring, where she was catching a breather. It was tempting to follow her out there, but ring brawling had never been her strong suit.

Instead, she hung back in the ring, hunched over with her hands on her knees, beckoning Raya to come back in the ring with her hand. More of invitation, but it could be taken as a taunt, too.

Somehow, Raya had successfully managed to slip out of the ring. As the referee started counting she sat and took a couple of deep breaths, before looking back at the ring and seeing Valley taunt her with her hand. If this had happened earlier in the match then Raya would have definitely fallen for it and charged right back into the ring at full force in order to punish what she deemed to be disrespectful behaviour, but now she was completely exhausted, unsure of what else she’d be able to even pull off once she got back in.

Normally, Raya would have also tried to take the opportunity to continue to trash talk, but she knew she was almost at her breaking poing and didn't want to test that limit by wasting energy on taunts that throughout the match had appeared to be quite useless. Valley seemed to be completely unfazed by anything Raya said, so it would be of no use tactically to try and provoke her.

Still, she didn’t give up. As the referee’s count reached 8, Raya quickly slipped back into the ring through the ropes and stood up, waiting for Valley’s next move. Passivity at this stage might still be a mistake, but she wanted to conserve herself rather than keep going aggressive on useless maneuvers, and so she stood there patiently and calmly and waited to see what Valley would do next. Getting out of the ring, although just barely, had allowed her to recover to a point where she was fully conscious again and it wouldn't be a cakewalk for Valley to do whatever she pleased with her.

The crowd egged Valerie on as she waited in the ring, trying to push her to slip out and brawl with Raya, but she didn’t pay them any mind. It wasn’t that she was afraid to brawl with Raya, so much as there was hardly any point to it. She did her best work in the ring, between the ropes, and she had no idea how well her opponent would do in that regard, and she wasn’t pressed to find out.

Besides, this was a standard match, and the onus was on Raya to come to her. She took her sweet time - eight whole seconds - but sure enough, she came rushing in and squared off once more.

Valerie wiped her nose clean and began to circle the ring, keeping distance for a few steps, before she rapidly rushed in. She looked like she was going for another tie-up, but instead, she ducked down, swung around behind her opponent, and tried to wrap her arms around the woman from behind, attempting to catch her with a waistlock and clamp it tight and keep her under control.

Raya was at first slow to react, then too slow to move out of the way. Although those seconds spent outside the ring had been crucial to allow her to get her bearings back and take a breath, they had done nothing to alleviate the damage she had already incurred over the course of the match, resulting in her movements being far less sharper than they had been at the start.

Of course, this meant that Raya was unable to stop Valley from ducking down, swinging around Raya before proceeding to clamp in the waistlock tight as she now had Raya under control. Raya grunted and struggled, desperately trying to break free. She’d try to throw some elbow backwards but there was too little power in them to make any big difference.

Raya’s return to the ring had backfired, she’d been too passive and such a mistake had allowed her to play right into Valley’s hands yet again, and even worse she had no ropes to save her this time.
