Hortensia Aster was on her journey to becoming a pro wrestler. She had two people guiding her on that path; her older sister Ivy, and Ivy's own mentor Tiki Lowell, who had similarly taken the young girl under her wing. To their credit, Tiki and Ivy were not holding back in preparing Hortensia for the day when they couldn't protect her anymore, and Hortensia herself was facing the challenge head on.
Part of that preparation was dipping Hortensia's toes into what real pro fights would be like once she was in LAW proper, which meant going so far as to arrange training spars against actual rostered LAW pros. Not just Ivy or Tiki, but external sparring partners with no reason to give Hortensia anything less than their all. The one who'd been arranged for today was a girl by the name of Casey Quick.
Hortensia entered the gym alongside her older sister Ivy. Obviously Ivy wasn't there to fight, but to escort her younger sister and to keep an eye on the spar to give Hortensia feedback in the future. Hortensia was pretty neutral upon seeing Casey. She was naturally pretty confident, and the redhead didn't do anything to move the needle one way or the other towards apprehension or arrogance. It was probably a good thing that Casey's style led Hortensia to peg her as Japanese or Chinese though. Had the young girl realized that Casey was Welsh, then as a Brit, Hortensia probably would have started mouthing off enough with the usual jokes to get Ivy on her back and Casey steaming at her.
"Greetings. Thank you for agreeing to spar with my sister, Ms. Quick," Ivy said.
"Unless you have some sort of issue, I believe we can get started as soon as Hortensia is in the ring and ready."
"Yep! I'm good to go!" Hortensia cheered as she shot into the ring, hopping around and rolling her neck before lowering into a loose, rocking stance.
"Don't wait up on my account, Casey!"
