Kalina Ann-Maria vs. Theodore 'Theo' Logan - Another Brick in the Wall

There were so many better things Lucy could’ve been doing on a Saturday night. More fun things. More important thing. She could’ve gone to that lovely little Les club she’d heard of in Shibuya, see if she could find some companionship for the night. Could’ve gone to the beach, taken a stroll. Could’ve been working on editing the track for BlazeWave’s next big album, because Lord knew she couldn't get any help with that from her band members.

But no, she wasn’t doing any of that. Instead, she was here, at the LAW arena, hanging out with her two goofball bandmates. What a life.

Normally, she would have avoided being at their matches, if she could get away. While she didn’t hate wrestling, LAW matches tended to get lewd, especially with Willy involved, and the last thing she wanted was to see her bandmates naked, if she could get away with it. It was already awkward just being roommates.

Things had been even more awkward than usual lately, though, ever since the two lunkheads got their asses handed to them by the Ancestor’s of Isis. Theo blamed Willy for that whole debacle, which, okay, fair play, it was Willy’s fault, the same with most bad things that happened to the group. But Theo usually forgave the dumbass after a day or two. Not this time. He’d been giving him the silent treatment for two weeks straight, and it didn’t seem like that calm was abating soon, even as Theo got ready for his solo match against some newcomer.

Theo was doing his stretches while they waited to get called out, while Willy sat in a nearby chair, arms folded, the two of them acting like the other didn’t exist. It was beyond awkward, and there was Lucy, right in the middle of things. She looked between them and let out a loud huff, making sure she could be heard above the rumbling crowd outside. ”Jeeeeeeez, this silent treatment shit is so dumb. Will you two kiss and make up already?”

Willy just thumbed at Theo, who seemed to have no reaction to any of it, still facing away from them as he stretched. ”Hey, don’t look at me. I apologized.” Willy held up his hand, defensive. ”I fucked up a little, so what? I got beat up, too, you don’t see me complaining.”

At that, Theo twitched, but still didn't look their way. He did deign to speak, however, ”Hey, Lucy? Could you remind my ‘friend’ that one of us got beaten up much, much more than the other? And maybe remind him about the way they used me like a goddamn sex toy?”

Lucy groaned and stuck out her tongue. ”God, I wish you wouldn’t remind me about that part.” She looked Willy’s way. ”Not playing the Telephone game. You heard him.”

”Dude, we’re in LAW, shit like this happens all the time. You gotta get over it.” Willy shrugged it off in his usual dube-bro way. ”It could’ve been worse, anyway.”

That was enough to make Theo turn back around, finally, looking Willy’s way with more than a little fire in his eyes. ”Worse? Worse than getting fucked in front of millions of people across the world?”

Willy opened his mouth to respond - likely with something stupid - and that was the moment that, thankfully, their

started up soon enough, meaning it was time for the match. Theo sighed and pointed Willy’s way. ”Let’s just get this over with. We’ll talk afterwards.” He walked off, with the two of them following close behind. ”A long talk.”

A few minutes later and Lucy found herself ringside, leaning up against the barrier alongside Willy as Theo got his stretches in. Hopefully, this match would be a good way to get some of his frustrations out, or at least direct them at someone who wasn’t Willy.

“Some newcomer”, was putting it lightly. Kalina, for all her size was actually quite good at making her presence not known, a trait of hers that had carried her well across her military life. Even now, it was something she did unconsciously, having a reputation amongst the pit crew as something of a ghost, a silent phantom gliding through the backstage.

However, she had found herself a little lost.

Instead of her side of the arena, she found herself in the section of her opponents.

Now she didn’t MEAN to eavesdrop, but she did. Bad habit? Yes- but Kalim was old enough to not care about societal norms, and she did what she wanted to. Seemed like trouble in paradise, though. The two seemed.. young. She was willing to bet she wasn’t that far from their age combined and.. honestly that made her shudder a little. Age was catching up to her, and the sort of cute “peacemaker” lady in the middle seemed exasperated.

Kalina silently moved to her side of the arena, pondering what she had learnt.

She smiled a little to herself.

Who says you can’t have fun at work?

Theo had entered the ring first, and it gave her juuuust enough time to get to her side of the ring, and enter. Anyone that knew much about Kalina knew that she took you only as seriously as the amount of clothes she took off at the start of the match. She appraised Theodore- yes TheoDORE, she wasn’t a fan of shortening names- and his figure. Powerful but..

She had seen better.

In her most difficult match to date, Kalina had dropped the shirt, and the pants, leaving her in a proper attire for wrestling. But when she approached Theo, she pressed her hand to her throat and simply removed one button, letting the shirt hang and the soft flesh of her breasts hit the cool night air- a small strip tease, never leaving his gaze.. but..

She looked directly in the eyes of Lucy while undoing her second button, showing off the curve of her breasts now. That was all she thought she needed. Imperceptibly, she winked- but Lucy would know.



Then, she focused her attention on Theo.

She took a step forwards. Then another. The six foot four monster of bulging muscles and scarred might, stood stoically against him.

Her hand reached up, and lightly ruffled his hair.

“I’ll leave your mouth intact. For the “long talk”.

The rest of you? It would be in the best of interests for you.. to quit while you’re ahead.”

Thems fighting words, but for Kalina they seemed.. dispassionate. Her eyes were filled with simple void, almost dead inside- like Theo was fighting a corpse.

This wasn’t a threat.

For Kalina, this was a fact.

Ever since their first match in LAW, Theo had begun to suspect that, maybe, someone in the back had it out for them. Perhaps not personally or directly, but at times it seemed as though someone took great pleasure in putting them in compromising positions and watching them suffer. To an extent, he understood the logic. He knew enough about LAW’s analytics to realize that men losing was good for their business model. He just wished they weren’t the constant punching bags.

Judging by his opponent for the day, that trend seemed destined to continue.

The first thing that Theo noted about Kalina was the thing that you couldn't very well miss: namely, her size. She was huge, even bigger than Willy, and absolutely built from what he could tell. He also couldn't help but notice that her attire wasn’t exactly what you’d call ‘ring appropriate, looking like it was better suited for a business room than the squared circle.

It made for an odd look. An odd look on an odd woman. He quirked his eyebrow as she made her way towards him, with interesting words to say - apparently, she’d been dropping a few eaves on their conversation backstage. How she did that without him noticing, he couldn't imagine, but maybe he’d just been that seriously distracted.

He stood his ground, not wanting to look intimidated as she came his way and loomed over him, emphasizing the size difference, trying to intimidate him. It wasn’t not working, he could admit that. He took a few steps back, getting out of her range and lowered into grappling stance. ”Tempting…but no. I’m not quitting anything, lady.”

Despite putting on a brave face, he knew better than to charge in headlong against someone like this. He went into motion right away when the bell rang, circling around her at a safe distance, occasionally darting in to try and bait her, only to immediately step back out.

To her credit, Kalina didn’t move. It’s not that she didn’t consider circling along with Theo, but from her time in the military, her situational awareness was.. enough to keep his position in her minds eye.

He ducked towards her. Feinted. Drew back- quite obviously not ready to commit to a stance. Her fingers twitched a little, and Kalina lightly adjusted her gloves after the bell rung. A smoke was in order, she thought, but she would wait. Until after the match.

“Could have fooled me.”

She murmured, not quite sure why he wouldn’t quit- couldn’t he see the difference in their levels? Kalina almost always offered it to her opponents, but she supposed.. it was time, then.

He lunged at her, drew back, but in the same instance she literally fell backwards- moving like a snake in a river having eyed a tasty frog to eat. Her foot stabilised herself, her body twisted and her long, lanky, muscle bound arm struck out like a viper-

To grip Theo’s hair.

Kalina dragged him forwards, rocketing her knee directly into his stomach with a merciless blow! She didn’t particularly relish the feel of her knee in his flesh, but she had never been particularly sadistic. Was just.. business.

“You shouldn’t shy away like that. Be excited. Although I suppose it’s ironic coming from me.. but my case is far more complicated than that.”

Kalina also fought weird. While there was traces of professional wrestling in her, she didn’t have much of a mma style to her either, or any martial arts. She knew them well enough, but she was fighting in the military style.

Quick, brutal, efficient.

This lesson was punctuated by Kalina shoving his head down by her grip on his hair, letting go to leave him unbalanced- and then delivering a rolling kick into his gut, slamming her leg right into the sweet spot where she was targeting the last blow!

This was going to end badly. Lucy wasn’t a fighter, unless you counted her basic boxing lessons, and she damn sure wasn’t a pro wrestler, but she had two, functional eyes, and she only needed one of them to look at Kalina, look at Theo and know that this was going to end with him getting curbstomped.

It wasn’t just a size thing, either, though that was part of it. Homegirl was huge, built, and looked like a human wrecking ball. No, what Lucy noticed was her whole demeanor, like she wasn’t sweating Theo in the least. This blank, business look was to match her outfit, like this was just another day in the office. Did not bode well for the much smaller man she was facing off against.

And no, she did not fail to notice that wink going her way. She quirked her eyebrow and threw back a quick wave, not 100% what to make of it.

If Theo noticed, he wasn’t reacting to it. In fairness, he had far more important things to think about, as he continued to test her range, playing it smart. Rangefinding, her uncle had called it, and he would’ve approved of that approach with most opponents. Against someone like this, though…

Kalina’s arm shot out, fast. Fast enough to even make Lucy jump from the sidelines, taken aback by the sheer alacrity of it, and more than fast enough to snatch Theo’s by the hair. He tried to pull away, but didn’t have any success in that before her knee came up and rammed into his stomach, folding him in half with ease.

To Theo’s credit, he fought back, throwing a couple of quick punches into her side, but they weren’t enough to prevent what came next, as he was shoved and had Kalina’s leg dig deep into her stomach. It hit hard enough to knock him off his feet, and he came back down on stumbling legs. He backed off towards the corner, grabbing his stomach and coughing up a storm.

All over two hits.

At least he wasn’t completely caught off guard by this- his knuckles dug into her sides, and Kalina definitely felt them.. but he wasn’t in a good enough position to get the full impact of them across, no matter his intent. The woman lightly ran a hand through her hair, the arena light making her locks look a brilliant golden as a satisfying thwack had rung across the arena a minute prior.

She’d slide her glove off, walking to Theo. She had no sense of urgency. No feeling of a predator stalking her prey either, no.. she just saw it as a way to collect her pay, then get back home and rot in the darkness of her apartment. She sighed, and then lifted her arm up-

And brought it down.

SLAP!!

She didn’t slap him. But she might as well have- her glove went splat across his face, as she dropped the leather and wrapped her fingers around his neck, tilting his head to meet her eyes. It was like fighting a monster.

“Hm.”

That was all she had to say- he got a feeling that Kalina was judging him. Reversing her grip, she’d bend him over, bury his face between her thighs..

And the same hand slid around his waist. Slowly, he realised something. This assault was.. being done with one arm behind her back.

Literally. She’d haul him up, off his feet.. and fall back, driving his face into the canvas with a brutal piledriver that shook the ring, leaving Theo crumpled against the canvas!!

So, yeah, Willy had no idea what the hell was going on here.

He knew LAW had some big, crazy bitches - hell, he was into that, some of the time. But the woman Theo was facing off against right now felt different, somehow. She had this cold, crazy look about her, like she wasn’t even present right now, like this was all just…nothing to her. Theo was just a fly for her to swat.

To be fair, that was looking to be the case, as Theo found himself in a bad spot before they’d even reached the one-minute mark. He was already backing up and choking - did she really hit him that hard? He was on the smaller side, sure, but Willy had worked with him enough to know his bro could take a hit or two. It shouldn’t be going this bad.

He was, to put it in the nicest way possible, getting his ass kicked.

Kalina slapped him across the face with those gloves of her, then she moved in and shoved his head between those titanic thighs of hers, trapping it between twin pillars. They all knew what was coming next, but all Theo could do was kick his head about and flail as he was lifted up and brought down, getting his skull rammed into the canvas at mach speed.

His body bounced up after the impact, then came to a rest on the canvas, not moving an inch. There was a split second where Willy feared the worst, but it passed when he saw Theo shuddering. He was still aware, from the looks of things. Hurting, but consciousness.

”Dude, come on!” He smacked the apron a few times. ”Get your shit together!”

See, if Kalina had known the inner ramblings of Willy’s head at that very moment, she would have been quite.. willing to believe he was at fault for every argument the tag team duo had, and would have corrected him- it was depression instead of insanity. Fingers curling around a rope as she stood, watching Theodore wheeze and groan right below her feet.

“Having trouble finding getting your feet beneath you?”

She muttered- rhetorically, but still. Her fingers slid right under his armpits, lifting him up and into the air. Like a baby. She inspected him, watching the man dangle in her arms..

And then she shoved him- hard, right into the ropes. They were close enough in proximity that Theo would bounce right back and Kalina would lunge forwards, catch his neck around her bicep.. haul him into the air and slam him- not into the ring, but outside of it with a swinging clothesline to seal the deal!

Theo was fairly certain that this was what counted as a ‘bad start’. He had a hard time imagining a worse start to a professional match, and he was particularly experienced with that sort of thing.

It didn't get much worse than needing your opponent to stand up before the match was even two minutes old, but that was where Theo stood right now - or slouched, rather. Not content to let him rest, even for a moment, Kalina lifted his aching body up, shoved him forward, and left him languishign against the ropes of wobbly feet.

He bounced off them, stumbled forward, and found her arm waiting to clobber him with e heavy blow, one with more than enough power to sending clean out of the ring and to the floor. That almost happened, too, but Theo’s fumbling hands grabbed hold of the rope instead, letting him come down on the apron instead.

It was a wild, crazy move, but Theo was low on options, needed to take everything he could get. With the ropes gripped tight, he pulled himself up, whipped his leg around, and tried to clock Kalina in the face with an enziguiri.

Clotheslines were so inefficient, Kalina always thought. Having been a military veteran for over seven years, she thought she could do better to slam people with than that. But they were.. flashy, as the crowd wanted and so she used them. More they liked watching her meant more chance she kept this job.

Yay.

However, the job had its own bit of sparkle once in a while. Her eyes widened as that excitement came from Theodore in full swing, gripping the ropes, swinging around a whole 270 degrees like a gymnast.

Colour her impressed, but she wasn’t going to be punked by someone like that. Arm went up, leg slammed into her arm, and Kalina staggered back a couple steps, almost off balance..

But not quite.

“That’s good!”

She spouted a surprised word of concern, breaking into a run and shoved her shoulder outside, aiming to drive it into his exposed ribcage to slam him right through the ropes again!
