Reiko Hinomoto vs. Ms. Spencer - Refresher Course

Ah, the taste of mud on her tongue. How little Muriel had missed that.

She brought her head out of the muck and spat off to the side, getting as much of the taste out of her mouth as she could, though she knew that was a forlorn hope. She vividly recalled downing bottles of ginger ale after her mud matches in Rumble Roses, and a taste that would linger and taint everything she consumed for the better part of a week. She hoped they had something suitably flavorful waiting behind the curtains in LAW.

That was a distant concern, however, far from her primary concern. No, that would be Reiko, who swooped in with no small amount of gusto to secure the pinfall, planting Muriel flat on her back and draping over her. The referee was quick to move in, and start the count, however…

”2…!”

…not fast enough, as Muriel kicked out as soon as the second hand fell, pushing Reiko away and going over to her hands and knees. She shook her head and groggily began to rise, wiping the mud out of her eyes as she went. ”I’ll give you a B for the effort, Ms. Hinamoto.”

Reiko laid on top of her opponent in a basic pin, using nothing but her own body weight to hold down the larger woman as she tried to secure the pin by diving her hand into the mud and looping around the leg for extra leverage. But the late adjustment cost her as Ms. Spencer forced her off, bucking Reiko off and splashing the mud yet again as the Zero Fighter was forced back into the mud! Another layering of the cool mud coated her as she rolled in the mud, stopping on her hands and knees to push herself up.

Mud dripped off of her body, hair, and nose, the mud was becoming a factor in more so than just stability as the additional weight on her body was beginning to take a number out of her stamina. But she could see Ms. Spencer was in the same state as her, on her fours and locking eyes with her.

"Just a B? I think you're shaving off a bit too much for your own benefit, Ms. Spencer." Reiko shot back, a smile creeping on her lips, Ms. Spencer was not going easy on her in neither wrestling ability or grading and the Zero Fighter would not have it any other way.

She thought about rising up, but rather than risk the crafty wrestling professor a chance to pick a leg or secure a takedown, she chose to stay on her fours approaching the Canadian Teacher with caution as she stalked through the mud, rising up to her knees for a more amateur wrestling approach! She reached out, probing Ms. Spencer's reactions with swiping hands before diving in and attempting a collar and elbow tie up from her knees!

Yes, just a B. Muriel was nothing if not an exacting taskmaster. There would be no free rides for Ms. Hinamoto.

Joking aside, she was well aware of the danger she was in. The Reiko Hinamoto Comeback was the fear of every Rumble Rose, as the Zero Fighter was well known for her ability to come from behind and retake a match, showing her indomitable fortitude. Muriel had seen the woman down so many times, seemingly beaten, only for her to rise with a well of stamina that seemed to come from some supernatural plane, fighting back in situations that would’ve been beyond most mortal woman, and the last thing she wanted was to be on the receiving end of such a tumultuous surge.

It seemed Reiko was of a mind to keep things low, as she declined to immediately rise up and instead choose to engage her while she was barely getting up from the mud. Muriel was all too willing to lock horns with the woman like this - even in her addled state, she weighed her chances better while they were grappling, feeling she was the stronger woman when it came to technical wrestling.

At first, it seemed as if the two were even, with Muriel refusing to give ground. But, gradually, she planted one foot in the mud, established a base, and rose with the other, getting higher and higher, until they found themselves on their feet.

She tested her strength against Ms. Hinamoto for only a moment longer, before she suddenly dipped down, placed her head under the woman’s shoulder, arched her back, and attempted to plant her with a Northern Lights Suplex, making sure to post up after the impact for a pinfall attempt.

Lunging into her opponent, grabbing onto Ms. Spencer's elbow and back of the head and burying her hand in the muddy hair as the two of them began jostling for the advantage! Gritting her teeth, Reiko shoved into her larger opponent, trying to force her back down into the mud but Ms. Spencer had already solidified her foundation and was not willing to concede ground. As Ms. Spencer began to rise, Reiko followed suit, stomping her foot in the mud and rising up along with the Teacher!

Their mud soaked bodies continued to shove against each other, hands grasped tightly on each other as they stomped in the mud, wet earth splashing upwards as they jockeyed for the next advantage!

This time the Canadian Teacher would strike first, ducking low and breaking out of the deadlock with her arms wrapping around her waist! Reiko's eyes widened as Ms. Spencer tucked her head underneath her armpit and snapped her up and over, being plunged into the mud with a beautiful Northern Lights Suplex!

"Uuuugh!" she cried out, the area around her temporarily void of mud before it all came rushing back into her, her opponent keeping her body bridged to keep her pinned!

"ONE!"

Would this work? Muriel doubted it. While she hadn't kept total track of Reiko since they’d drifted apart and wasn’t aware of her record, the gist she’d gotten so far told her that the woman hadn't changed all that much since they parted ways. Still the same beacon of light, still the same indomitable force that took the wrestling world by storm.

Someone like that, taken out with a simple Northern Lights Suplex? Never.

”2…!”

But what about two Northern Lights Suplexes?

Muriel could feel Reiko was about to kick out anyway, so she beat her to the punch. She threw her legs up and over her opponent’s body, planted her feet and proceeded to lift her opponent clean off the canvas, she brought her up, carried her over, and proceeded to float over into another Northern Lights Suplex[/b], pinning her once again to secure her new signature move - Suspended.

Reiko brought her legs up as she slammed them down into the mat, using the momentum to pull her upper body upwards to break the pinfall, rising out of the mud with force! But through her show of power, she soon realized that Ms. Spencer already had an answer for her, or perhaps she already knew what Reiko was thinking as she flipped out of her bridge and towards Reiko, not only solidified her balance and control with her feet planting in the mud and arms still locked around her!

Her features covered in mud, Reiko cracked one of her eyes open as Ms. Spencer pulled on her, yanking her out of the mud and having the wet earth roll down her body, hunched over her opponent before she was lifted up again into the air! Mud went flying as she flipped over yet again for a second North Lights Suplex! Ms. Spencer showed plenty in that one sequence, the talent and grace to pull off another Northern Lights Suplex, control over her body to repeat the motion, and the wherewithal to anticipate Reiko's kick out!

"Huuuuuugh!" Reiko cried out, slammed down with another emphatic wave of mud shooting upwards as she was once again trapped in the pinning bridge predicament!

Muriel pushed Reiko hard into the mud, sending up a geyser of mud from the impact. Her legs were bridged, and she was propped up on her tiptoes despite the mud giving her precious little purchase. Her back was in a perfect arc, and her muscles were tensed. She couldn't have asked for a better form. She had been working on this move for a while and was quite satisfied with how it came out.

But would it work? Only one way to know for sure.

The referee slid in one more, nearly falling flat as she got into position and started the count. ”1…!”

Having escaped the first Northern Lights, taking the second one right out of a pinning predicament had caught the Zero Fighter by surprise and having been snatched again when she thought she was freed had made the move all the more devastating as Ms. Spencer bridged into her in the same pin, driving her shoulder into her stomach, laid out in the mud once again with the ref girl counting the pin!

"2...!"

Gritting her teeth, the taste of mud had gotten into her mouth, giving her a bad taste on top of everything. As the referee's hand rose out of the mud for the third and final count, Reiko rolled her shoulder out of the mud to break the pin, throwing her body to the side to also try and take Ms. Spencer of f of her balance to prevent a possible third Northern Lights Suplex!

For a moment, Muriel thought the match was firmly within her grasp - while she had never used this move to win before, it seemed to have damaged her foe. Even Reiko Hinamoto could be caught off guard with the right situation, and she was confident that this would be her moment…but no, the woman kicked out, narrowly keeping herself in the game. Disheartening, but Muriel would not be deterred so easily.

Knowing she couldn't give the woman a chance to regain her foot, she slid over and threw herself onto Reiko’s back as she tried to retreat, putting a stop to any escape attempts. Her arms slid around the younger woman’s neck and clamped tight as she sought to apply a sleeperhold, wanting to squeeze the life out of her hale and hearty opponent.

Splashing in the mud as she threw herself up, Reiko pulled the Canadian Teacher down with her into the mud as they laid in the mud, taking a brief breath of relief knowing that she was out of the woods if even for a few seconds. Her back was feeling the effects of being dumped into the mud from those consecutive Northern Lights Suplexes, but she had no time to recover with Ms. Spencer pushing her advantage once again, throwing herself into Reiko as the pair rolled through the mud again!

During their tussle, Reiko found herself in an even dangerous position as Ms. Spencer had taken her back, her opponent's mature chest pushing down on her while the arm wrapped around her head! She reached out, grabbing onto Ms. Spencer's arm to prevent it from joining the other and locking in a sleeper, Reiko knew that if she was caught in a sleeper at this point, fighting her way back into the match would be that much harder!

"N-no!" she gasped out, holding onto Ms. Spencer's hand as hard as she could to keep it away from her head, twisting to try and roll over to try and take away Ms. Spencer's balance!
