Noelle Silva was not happy today. It was her first match in LAW's Kings and Queens Mixed Wrestling Tournament, a tournament which she had done a joint promo for with her boyfriend, Izuku Midoriya. She had hoped that they would get in together, but wouldn't have been upset if they both got rejected. But this, where she got in while Izuku was left off the competitor list, was something that she did not want at all. She was even going to reject the invitation until Izuku pleaded with her to accept.

There was also the matter of her outfit. Once Noelle had decided to accept her invitation to the tournament, she commissioned a new wrestling outfit for the occasion, and boy was it beautiful. But guess whose commissioned work wasn't done by the deadline she had set? Noelle's. So here the Spaniard was, in the attire which she had been wearing for her whole career.

Music

Noelle's music came on first, and she made her entrance. Since this was a mixed match against a man, she decided to play up the sex appeal a bit, hands on her hips as the swayed back and forth with her stride. When the Spaniard got to the ring, she slowly raised her arms up as she leaned forward to grab the ropes to pull herself up, sticking her butt out before finally stepping up onto the mat.

It had been a long time since Prayuth felt this, not since he’d hit the big time or won his first belt. Years, over a decade at the least, but as he waited for his music to play, that old, familiar feeling returned to him. The bouncing heels, the beads of sweat, the quickening heartbeat. Hundreds of little thoughts buzzing through his brain, butterflies demanding his attention, and for what?

He was nervous. Idol of millions, multi-million dollar superstar, one of the most recognizable faces in martial arts movies today, and he was nervous.

If this were just a match he was going into, it would be one thing. He always had matches, even with his stardom, no big deal. He was used to the grind. But this tournament he’d found his way into brought with it the chance to be the first Intergender LAW Champion, and there was a lot of weight behind that. Prestige. It wasn’t every day that you had the chance to make a mark like that, to be the first in a long line of champions. Even for someone on his level, this was no small thing. It brought out all the jitters, all the doubts, but he did his best to push them aside when the lights came down and his

played.

”Go time.”

He came strolling through the curtains with his tapped fists held high, as if celebrating his triumph before the match even began. An old tactic, just a way to get into the opponent’s head, showing the sort of cocky confidence he was known for. He barely spared her a glance as he rolled in under the ropes and popped to his feet, acting as if the ring was his personal property, his own little playground that his opponent had just so happened to step into. Staying warmed up, he threw a couple of quick jabs out before he made his way over to the farthest corner and leaned against the ropes, resting his back on the pads and stretching his legs.

Nice and limber. He was ready.

Noelle used her frustration to lock her mind into the fight, leveling a cold glare at Prayuth as he entered the ring. Noelle couldn't claim to have ever seen his work before, but apparently he was some Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee type of celebrity; a martial arts star who could actually do all of the fighting he did on screen in real life. Though perhaps comparing Prayuth to Chan and Lee was disingenuous, considering that the princess had actually heard of the other two.

Either way, I'll make him look like Jean Claude Van Damme in that bar fight, Noelle thought to herself as the match neared its opening. She got into her stance and awaited the bell. The Spaniard assumed that her opponent would try to do something flashy to start the match, given his reputation, so Noelle would open by hanging back a bit and waiting for Prayuth to give her an opening to counter.

All right, so, go time. How should Prayuth play this?

Truthfully, he didn’t know too much about Noelle. He had been too busy with a press tour to do any real research. He knew that she’d been around LAW for a while, had some good experience, especially for someone so young, so he couldn't underestimate her…but size was a thing, here, and he was fairly confident he could overwhelm her if he pressed things. So…

Instead of hanging back and playing it safe, he decided the best thing to do was to move in fast and see how well she could hang when the pressure was on. Up came his guard. He bounced on his heels to find his rhythm, and he was off to the races from there, swiftly closing the distance with a couple of quick steps. He threw out a jab the moment he was in range, but this was just bait - the real strike came lower, a second later, as he lashed out a swift kick to the side of her knee, trying to make her buckle.

Noelle was expecting Prayuth to be aggressive out of the gate, and aggressive is exactly what she got. Though admittedly the action star's actual attack ended up being a bit more vanilla than the princess had anticipated. Though that could easily be chalked up to this being the start of the match and Prayuth wanted to get warmed up first before he went for the camera reel stuff.

Noelle was able to handle Prayuth's opening attack well enough. She bobbed her head out of the way of his punch, and even once it was revealed to be a feint, the Spaniard had recognized it quickly enough to be able to get her leg up to block the blonde's kick. After that, Noelle would counter by taking her already raised leg and shooting it out at Prayuth's side before swiftly dropping down and trying to sweep him with her other leg.

Huh. Okay. Not what he expected.

Just to look at Noelle, he wasn’t thinking she would be too much trouble. It was an easy first-round match, something to whet his whistle or whatever the saying was supposed to be. Her certainly wasn’t thinking she would have any real skill to work with, wasn’t thinking she would be a real challenge, and damn sure didn’t think she would be able to not only block one of his kicks but give a good response.

The kick to his side landed clean, cracking him on the ribs, enough to make him wince and wake up. He was all too aware that there would be a followup, and sure enough, it came in low and swift, nearly taking his ankles off. He scarcely had time to hop out of range to avoid it, but when came leaping back, he did so with more purpose. She wanted to get serious? Fine.

He led in again, but this time there was no faint - no, he threw out a jab and straight, the meat-and-potatoes combo, going down the middle towards her chest with full power, seeing how well she would handle things at a higher level.

Noelle's kick connected solidly after she had stopped Prayuth's own leg strike. However, it was not enough to set him up for the sweep that the princess came at him with as a follow up. The blonde hurdled her leg, but Noelle was not deterred. While Prayuth was still in the air, Noelle would use her already crouching position to lunge forward at the actor's legs, taking them out before he even had the chance to land and do anything.

It was a bit risky, as if Prayuth went for a kick while still in midair, Noelle would just before moving straight into it. But fortunately, the blonde did not try to strike at Noelle before touching down, so her takedown would succeed. Then once she had Prayuth down on the mat, his legs in her arms, the princess would try to turn him over and lock in a Boston Crab.

It should’ve been easy. Two solid strikes, right on the face, then she’d go down. Nothing too complicated.

It turned out to be a little bit more troublesome than that.

He’d been coming in for a round of punches when she unexpectedly dropped low and plowed into him, hitting with enough force to take his wiry frame off the floor and drop him, with her coming on top. His arms rose up in defense, expecting a mountain, but she instead flipped him over and took a seat on his back. Prayuth wasn’t a huge wrestling fan, but even he had a good idea what was coming next.

Sure enough, she grabbed hold of his legs, pulled them up, and bent him into a tight boston crab, folding his legs over and bending him over like a taco. Knowing he didn’t want to be in this for a single second longer than need be, Prayuth made a mad crawl for the ropes, trying to get to them before she could do real damage.

Noelle felt rather comfortable about how this match had started, which was to be expected considering that she currently had Prayuth held in a Boston Crab. He at least seemed competent, the princess would grant. He seemed as though he would be able to make Noelle regret a mistake if she made one. But so far his striking didn't appear to be anything that the Spaniard couldn't handle.

Prayuth started making for the ropes as quickly as he could, but he'd have a long way to go since he and Noelle had been fighting at Noelle's corner of the ring. But since Prayuth currently wasn't facing that corner, he would have to crawl all the way across the ring to make it to the set of ropes that he was facing. Prayuth would make it eventually, Noelle couldn't completely lock him in place. But she would have a lot of time to milk this Boston Crab for damage on the actor.
