Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
Valerie wasn’t arrogant enough to think that she could beat anyone with a simple senton, much less someone as burly and hardy as El Rey de Ceilo. She did think, however, that she might’ve had enough spice on the move to get a two-count, though, so she was more than a little dismayed when he not only kicked out as one, but did so with authority, shoving her off so hard that she nearly rolled out of the ring, and might have gone all the way if she hadn't grabbed the ropes. The man still had energy in him - a lot of it, in fact. This match wasn’t even halfway done.
She tried to push that out of her mind and focus on the task ahead. She couldn't afford to whittle him down with little moves. In a stamina battle, he was bound to come out ahead. No, her best bet was to hit him with the big move, to take him down by chunks, hammer him until he could hardly stand. Far easier said than done, but then, she hadn't come to LAW to take it easy.
She didn't spend hours on her core each week for nothing. It was time for some suplexes.
”Let’s go.” She rolled over to her chest, crawled over to El Rey, and reached out to capture his head in a front facelock, clamping down tight. Valerie stood up and forced him to rise along with her, keeping him tucked in the entire time.
As soon as they were up, she reached over, pulled his arm over her shoulder, dipped down, and attempted to bring him up, over, and down on his back with a powerful vertical suplex, hoping to plant him down square in the middle of the ring.

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
Valerie's body had caught him flush, and the senton had forced a loud gasp from his as the air was pushed out of his body and into the air, before the blonde woman completed her move by laying down across him and hooking a leg to go for a pin on the masked man! Fortunately for El Rey, an urge not to be put down by a simple move like a senton would move his body on it's own, thrusting a shoulder up and shoving Valerie off after just a one count! It certainly helped portray the image that he was still going strong, but he'd be lying if he said that the impact of her body against his, twice over and crushing the air out of him both times, had not hurt like hell. Still, it was hardly the time to wallow, and so he attempted to get back up to his feet, first rolling over and then pushing himself back up to his hands and knees, slowly working his way up.
That was about as far as he got on his own, however.
In what seemed like a flash, Valerie was back on top of him, wrapping an arm around his head and pulling him into a front facelock, the luchador letting out a grunt as he was roughly tugged into her embrace! And then, quite impressively, he was grabbed and lifted clean off of his feet! Valerie was taller than him, that was true, but he was also quite a bit heavier than her, and to heft him high above her head was quite the feat, certainly nothing to scoff at! And scoff he wouldn't, because he was currently the one helping her display that feat as she swung him down hard into the canvas!
"UUUGH! Nnngh... Love a woman... who can throw me around..." The joke came out a little awkwardly between groans of pain as El Rey lay on the mat, reaching a hand back to press into his spine, feeling a dull ache resonating outwards! The suplex had once more taken his air away, and Valerie was on a roll, and all El Rey could do was once more attempt to roll over, this time trying to get further away as he looked to get himself to the ropes!

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
It only occurred to Valerie halfway through executing the move that she’d never tried suplexing anyone quite as big as El Rey before. She trained with her brother and mothers most of the time, and none of them were even close to his size, to say nothing of the fact that she was usually fresh when she tried it on them. While she’d prepped her body for this sort of thing, there was always the chance that she’d fumble the execution, that she simply wouldn’t be used to the strain it would put on her body.
Thankfully, that turned out not to be the case—to both her and the audience’s amazement, she could heft up the heavyweight and bring him down for a mighty crash, one that had the entire ring shaking. It had a striking effect, laying him out and turning the calculus of the match firmly in her favor.
She grunted at his comment, pushing the flirting out of her mind as she focused on the task. This was too good of an opening to ignore, she needed to capitalize on it, and it seemed like El Rey realized as much. He was already rolling towards the ropes, heading for safe harbor.
”Nope.” Valerie popped to her feet, then immediately jumped towards him, tucked her leg in and tried to come down on his back with a knee drop to the spine, wanting to cut him off before he could get too far. The absolute last thing she wanted was for a guy with this much size and experience to start getting his momentum back.

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
Once it was clear that Valerie was indeed able to get El Rey up and off of the ground, and even more impressively, directly upside down over her own head, things became a lot more dangerous for the wide lad, as he was slammed down hard onto the canvas! It seemed Valerie was more than confident throwing her weight around when it came to power moves, and that meant that El Rey was going to be getting HIS weight thrown around, likely all over the canvas, if he didn't find some way out! Mercifully, Valerie didn't opt to go for another pin attempt and instead rolled over at the same time El Rey did, leaving him a moment to attempt to roll towards the edge of the ring and get somewhere where he could be a little safer! Which Valerie wasn't too keen on!
Hearing her short remark, he knew that she likely was not going to let him go, though El Rey was hopeful that he might at least be able to get far enough away to reach a hand out to the ropes! Those hopes were quickly squashed in the form of Valerie's knee suddenly coming down hard on his back, as the blonde hit him directly in the spine to stop him from rolling any further away!
"AGH! Nnngh... easy on the back..." El Rey let out a groan of pain, Valerie's strike instantly sending a jolt through his body that felt none too pleasant, and his progress came to a sudden stop! The blonde certainly was relentless, and El Rey was feeling like if he didn't manage to get his feet underneath him soon, she'd be running away with the match more and more, which would not be any good for him! Still, for the time being his only form of a response would be to swing an arm back and try to push Valerie away from him, unable to muster much real leverage due to his position!

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
As much as she tried to fight it, Valerie couldn't help but snicker after she landed the knee and got that response out of El Rey. She stayed in position after the knee drop, pinning him down with a sly smile. Just a small one. ”Again, nope.”
Far from ‘nope’. Now that she knew his back was bothering him, she had a target to work on, something she could use to weaken his offense. Boston Crabs, STFs, and elbow drops would be in his future if she had anything to say about it. It would only get her so far with an opponent who had this much variety in their moveset, but at least it was a viable path towards victory, far more than she could’ve hoped for before.
Valerie would’ve loved to start on that advantage, too, but El Rey had other plans. He showed plenty of life left as he rose up and forced her away. She was pushed up to her feet and backed away, giving him room to rise. Tempting as it was to bring the fight to him straightaway, she was already learning that she couldn't come at him with weak hits. She needed momentum. She needed a real impact.
So, instead, Valerie stepped back and back again, throwing herself into the ropes on the opposite side of the ring. She used their spring to propel herself forward and came dashing hard towards El Rey, attempting to hit him with a lariat and send him over the ropes.

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
If there was one thing that El Rey was learning about Valerie, it was that she really liked the word "nope." If there was a second thing that he was learning, it was that the blonde was perfectly fine pushing an unrelenting pace, as it seemed that every single second of the match, even ones he had controlled, were filled with danger. That danger had become far more defined now that he was getting to experience it firsthand, and the more that he did, the less that he wished to let her be in the lead for even a single second longer for this match! After all, he wasn't sure if his back could take it at this point, as the tall blonde seemed to have developed a particular grudge against El Rey's spine, harmless to her as it might have been!
The knee to his frame had stopped him cold, and Valerie stayed planted atop him, which meant that until he got her off, he wasn't going to be moving anywhere anytime soon. Fortunately for him, El Rey had enough leverage to at least turn his body to the point where his arm could stick out, something of a stiff-arm that would catch Valerie and push her off of him, giving him enough room to twist his body out from under her! The relief felt good, but the looming danger was still there, and as he shifted over, he managed to snag the ropes, slowly beginning to pull himself up!
El Rey braced himself, but oddly enough, he felt a strange lack of... well, anything really. Shouldn't she have been hitting him by now? When he opened his eyes, having risen back up to his feet, he was greeted with the sight of Valerie bouncing off of the ropes on the far end of the ring, before barreling towards him with a gleam in her eye that spelled doom for the masked man! However, as she came rushing towards him, arm coming up with the intent to club him out of the ring, he felt a strange sense of... irony.
"Nope." Admittedly, it felt far too good to throw Valerie's favorite word back in her face, but it wasn't just for giggles! Instead, El Rey would suddenly drop down as if going to hit the floor, but as he fell, he grabbed hold of the top rope, pulling it low, and with his body there to trip Valerie, he hoped she'd go sailing over him and flip out of the ring onto the outside!

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
As Valerie came rushing towards El Rey, she could almost hear her mother - her birth mother - warning her, telling her to slow the pace a tad. The former Silver Ace had always been the more cautious of her two parents, never falling into the full highflying that the previous Valley Doll had. While she was fast, she wasn’t too much of a risk-taker, only getting crazy when she absolutely had to.
In most cases, Valerie would’ve deferred more to that way of thinking, wanting to stick her smarter, technical roots. That served her well most of the time, when she could overpower her opponents or grind away on them with her technique. That wasn’t the case with El Rey, however - she had to make the most out of every opportunity, had to keep pressing her advantage, because he’d already shown that he could flip the tables on her in an instant.
That was her thinking as she came rushing in with the clothesline, hoping to knock him to the floor. While she wasn’t crazy about ringside brawling, she figured there was a good chance to do some big damage out there, and that was exactly what she needed. A good idea in theory, but…
”Whoa!” Valerie squawked as she came rushing in at high speeds, only to find her target missing at the worst possible time. El Rey dipped down and she found herself tumbling over the top rope, on track for a nasty spill. She could turn well enough in mid-air to come down on her upper back instead of her head, but that was the only mercy she could get.
Valerie rolled a couple of times, coming just short of hitting the barricade. Groggy and hurting, she started to push her way up and rise to her feet, but she was disoriented, dizzy, and worst of all, she had no idea where her opponent was at the moment.

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
Taking a tumble out of a wrestling ring always sucked, as it was nearly impossible to get over cleanly enough to avoid smacking into the apron unless you were to launch yourself, and especially when you were sent out of the squared circle against your own will! Which is why El Rey was quite relieved that it was Valerie that was taking the tumble instead of himself, missing her lariat and instead falling over the lowered top rope, which the masked man had even gone to the trouble of pulling out of her way! What awaited her now instead of a solid hit to the luchador was now instead a tumble over the rope, and all of the aforementioned perils, before she finally landed hard on the mats covering the floor outside!
El Rey breathed a sigh of relief, and after Valerie had completely slipped from the ring, he'd slowly pull himself back up with the rope he was still gripping, letting go and giving his back a quick rub as he attempted to work out some of the still lingering pain! But while that would be nice, a more pressing issue was taking back control from the his blonde opponent, and so before wasting too much time, El Rey would turn and take off!
His trip to the opposite end of the ring was a short one, and the more he gathered momentum the more his eventual run in with the ropes would propel him back in the opposite direction, as he barreled back towards Valerie!
"Here I come!" With nothing more than that cry, far more of a battle cry than an actual warning, El Rey would approach the edge of the ring and suddenly leap into the air, clearing the top rope and spreading his limbs out wide! It was quite a sight, as the short and wide man, built like a barrel, actually managed to fly high and rotate in the air, a graceful flip over the top rope that would see him come soaring outside! Of course, the sight might not be so beautiful to Valerie, as El Rey's 200 plus pound frame was hurtling her way, aiming to land on her directly!

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
There was no way to make a fall out of the ring not suck, so far as Valerie knew, but she’d been trained in ways to make it suck considerably less, and that training kicked in as she took her fall. Tucking her head in to avoid hitting the side of the ring, she swung her legs about so she came down on her lower body instead of her upper, spreading her hands out to create the maximum distance and redistribute the impact. It all helped to avoid absolute disaster, but there was only so much gravity that would ever be denied.
It was a nasty fall, no avoiding it, and she was slow to recover on the floor. The match had already taken its toll on her, and now her world had been turned upside-down, so she needed a moment to recalibrate. She stood and attempted to shake it off, clearing her head to make sense of the world again.
The first thing she noticed as her faculties returned online was that the crowd was cheering. Not just general cheering, either. They were growing louder and louder as if they were anticipating something, which was never a good sign when she wasn’t doing anything. That meant El Rey was in the process of making something happen, but what? Had he come out to the floor, was he getting ready to clobber her again?
She looked to the sides, found nothing, and only then looked up to see the real threat—far too late to do anything about it: El Rey had taken flight. 200 plus pounds were heading towards her from on high at an alarming rate, and it was far too late for her to do anything about it.
”God-”
Valerie brought up her hands, more in reflex than anything, but they made for a poor shield as he crashed into her like a runaway freight train, hitting with enough impact to send her flying against the barricade, hitting with enough force to make it move and nearly send her flying over it. She fell forward and flopped to her front, groaning all the way down.
Valerie didn’t stay flat for long, but she was slow to rise. She pushed up to her hands and knees and hissed at the pain.

Re: El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things
El Rey, despite not being the tallest man in LAW, usually made up for his lack of height with a very wide frame, one that provided him with plenty heft all the same, and let him throw around his weight with the best of them, useful for things like powering around his opponents! What it was also good for, far more rarely, was for when El Rey decided to let his lucha libre roots show and throw himself through the air! And unfortunately for Valerie, she just so happened to be in the perfect place for him to do so! And so with a quick run up, El Rey would launch himself through the air, soaring over the top ropes and coming down hard onto Valerie, slamming into her and sending the two crashing down, with the blonde getting the worst of it by far!
El Rey landed hard atop Valerie, but while she was slammed into the barricade separating the pair of them from the fans, El Rey would tumble off of her and land on the mats in what was a downright cushiony fall compared to his counterpart! Of course, this meant that as he sprung back up to his feet, he was looking quite a bit more chipper, with his back no longer the current public enemy number one, and instead he got a chance to pay back Valerie some of that pain! And as she staggered off of the barricade, he'd be there to greet her!
"I'm flattered, but not quite! Just me." He said with a wry smile, before reaching forwards to grab hold of Valerie and yank her towards him, pulling her head down slightly in order to reach down and wrap his arms around her waist! From there, with a quick tug, he'd attempt to swing her upwards and flip her upside down, her back stretched out over one of his shoulders in a canadian backbreaker!
"Here, take a trip with me hermosa!" Called El Rey, as he decided to take a bit more time on the outside to show off, always the crowd pleaser! His plan was quite the simple one, as with Valerie over his shoulder in the canadian backbreaker, he'd simply begin a quick march around the outside of the ring, each step bouncing Valerie's back against his shoulder, straining her spine as he gave the crowd an up close view of his submission! And once his lap had been completed, he'd attempt to suddenly swing her forwards, back down onto her face as he dropped her hard with an impromptu slam!
