Bast vs "Amazon" Alaina Sanders-Haines (c) for the LAW Heavyweight Title

Alaina looked on in shock as Bast recovered and reversed the whip sending Alaina crashing into the steel steps! "ARGH!" Alaina howled as she smashed up against the steel flipping over for a hard landing on the ground. Alaina groaned in pain, weakly kicking as she felt she blew a big chance for a real rally against Bast. It would cost her big, but would it cost her everything?

Bast fell to her knees after launching Alaina, still feeling the toll from everything the Amazon had heaped on her in the past minute. It was good that she’d managed to turn the tables, at least for a second, but she couldn't forget what this woman was capable above, especially after she’d run her ragged.

”Bast!” Cersei peeked her head around the corner behind them, getting her attention. ”The ring! Get her back in the ring!”

That snapped Bast back to reality. The referee’s count was up to six now, with the real danger of her losing via countout coming in fast. All she needed to do was slip Alaina in under the ropes, but she had no plans on being gentle about that.

Bast reached down and pulled Alaina’s head under her arm, then draped her arm over the shoulder, the classic position for an inverted suplex. She began to pick her up for one, too, getting her halfway there before she jerked forward, tossed her opponent up, and let her back come down hard on the apron, nailing her with X-Plex. She pushed her in from there and slide in under the bottom behind her, breaking the count with a few seconds to spare.

Alaina was heft up and spun, crashing spine first on the apron edge! Alaina's leg was limp hanging off the edge as she laid there only to be shoved unceremoniously back into the ring by Bast. A hurt, aching, limp, near lifeless amazon rolled on flopping as she did coming to a rest on her back with a look of agony etched on her face.

Bast hurled her Alaina into the ring and followed close behind, saving her from a rather ignoble way of ending this match. The fact that a title couldn't change hands on a count-out was a rule that she would have to keep in mind.

She would continue the offense shortly, but for now, she wanted to slow things down a bit. First and foremost, she needed to take advantage of the position that her opponent had rolled onto.

Bast dropped over Alaina’s chest, pulled her leg in, and pressed her down to start up the pinfall. The referee slid over right away, slapping the mat beside them.

"Uggghhh......" Alaina groaned as she was pinned weakly kicking the mat twice with her free leg as she shook her head. "Nooo...."

"TWO!"

"No!" Alaina shouted bridging her back and thrusting toward to break the pin just after the two count! Alaina flopped back to the mat gasping for breath and kicking the mat again in pain trying to dig deep to even keep up with this woman..

The most pinfall attempt wasn’t successful, but then, Bast didn’t much expect it to. If it was that easy to defeat the heavyweight champion then, well, she wouldn’t be the heavyweight champion. The match was only five minutes old, and she was already showing herself to be the toughest opponent Bast had faced in LAW. Possibly ever.

But Alaina was still human. If she hit her enough times, if she did enough damage, the woman would go down. No question.

Bast was undaunted by the failed pinfall. When her opponent escaped, she went right back on the attack. Her offense had been mostly stries and slams so far, but now she felt something more subtle was required - she grabbed Alaina by the shoulders, pulled her over, wrapped her legs around the smaller woman’s waist, and clasped her ankles together to lock on a tight bodyscissors, bringing the full power of her lower body to bear as she dug into the Amazon’s midsection.

"Ugh.... NGH!" Alaina groaned as she kicked out of the pin only to be trapped in a body scissor hold! Alaina's torso was being crushed and she shook her head wildly as she thrashed about and tried to free herself! Alaina had escaped the bearhug before with strikes so she had to try again! She swung her elbows back into the abdomen of Bast hammering away at her as hard as she could strike after strike. Alaina would then take a deep breath knowing she had to escape, moving her head forward before rocketing it backward as hard as she could looking to headbutt Bast's face, throat... anything!

Bast clamped on tight, applying serious pressure to her opponent’s midsection, once again target her back. It was the same theory behind the bearhug: Working away on Alaina’s lower back. The more damage she did to that region, the weaker her foe would be, with the bulk of her offense relying on her ability to lift. No more suplexes, more slams, and certainly no more gorilla presses.

It was a solid idea in theory, but she needed to keep the woman still long enough to execute it, and she unfortunately seemed determined to be a hellcat today. The woman started to throw elbows her way, cracking her in the side, even as she continued to hammer away at her midsection. Bast hissed at each impact, but when the woman tried to hit her with a headbutt, she was ready.

As Alaina moved back, Bast leaned away, opened her arms, and tried to wrap her arms around the woman’s neck, looking to add on a rear naked choke and truly put her in distress.

Things went from bad to worse as Alainas head was trapped and her air supply violently cut off! Alaina kicked her legs more limply than before and she reached up clawing and punching at Basts arms before trying to pry them off. Her whole body throbbed, she was light headed and this looked like it could be the end of her reign. Alaina wheezed and coughed, air barley moving through her choked out throat.

Alaina tried to roll the two of them over trying to reach the ropes. For all her power and grit the dazed, light headed, blurry visioned and crished ribbed amazon was struggling to reach the ropes giving it her all as she was desperate to escape.

Bast clamped on tighter than ever as Alaina crawled to the ropes, determined to make it there despite all the pressure she was applying. On one hand, she had to admire the strength this woman was showing, as she soldiered on and fought through what had to be no small amount of pain. On the other hand, she couldn't help but see it more and more as stubborn pride - with the deck so clearly stacked against her, her fight was growing futile, and she was risking her health.

That didn’t mean Bast was going to hold back, however, and even when Alaina grabbed the ropes, she still held on, getting the most of the moment as the referee counted. She waited until the final count to release her opponent, then rolled away and got back to her feet. Instead of rushing in again, she brought her fists up and lowered into her stance, taking some time catch her breath.

Once Alaina began to get up, Bast would move in again, approaching her slowly. She didn’t throw out a strike just yet, keeping her guard secure. She wanted Alaina to come her way. Wanted to see just how much this woman had left in the tank.
