El Rey de Cielo vs. Valley Doll III - The Lighter Side of Things

Unread post by BlackAkuma »

Match Type: Standard
Victory Conditions: Victory by pinfall, submission, or knockout.

***

Five minutes before a match, and here was Valerie, hanging in the gorilla position, doing research on her opponent by flipping through Wikipedia on her phone. Not an ideal situation.

There wasn’t much she could do about it, though. While she preferred to research her opponents extensively before each match, that wasn’t an option - LAW management had practically sprung this match on her at the last second. Apparently, the wrestler that her opponent was supposed to be facing had gotten into a car wreck on the way there, and was getting hospitalized. Instead of calling an audible, someone suggested she take their place. Valerie had just come to watch the show and take notes, not expecting actual competition, and since she liked to hang backstage while she watched and mingle with the crew during breaks, it was a case of being in the wrong place at the right time. Or the right place, depending on how well this match went.

Right now, she wasn’t too optimistic about that, though. She thumbed through Rey’s page, picking up what details she could. There wasn’t too much about his life growing up, but his career in LAW was documented well enough, showing some good wins. Going over his moves, she struck him as a strong type, technical, not too unlike herself, but you could never be too sure with luchadors - she remembered some of the previous Valley Doll’s forays into Mexico, seeing all the wild moves they could pull off. Even the ones who were on the heavier side never shied away from death-defying feats, and she doubted Rey would be an exception in that regard.

”Ms. Doll?” Someone from the ring crew poked her head around the corner. ”It’s almost time, we’re about to queue up your music. Are you ready?”

”No,” She sat her phone off to the side, tucking it in her bag along with the clothes she’d hurriedly changed out of just a few minutes ago. ”But let’s do this, anyway.”

Valerie was making her way down the ramp less than a minute later, marching forward as her
blared all around her. The crowd responded more to her than they had before, and while she wasn’t fishing for responses, she would be lying if she said it wasn’t nice to be met with more than indifference. She gave the crowd a quick nod of appreciation before she set her focus fully where it needed to be - in the ring, on the match, towards her opponents.

Valerie broke into a quick run at the bottom of the rope, slid into the ring, and popped to her feet in a single bound near the center of the ring, getting her blood pumped in preparation. She made her way over to her corner, not missing a beat, and proceeded to get some stretches in while she waited for her opponent.
Valerie, ready to go.

When the news had been broken that El Rey's opponent had been injured via outside means and wouldn't be making it to the venue in order to compete tonight, the muscled male luchador had been worried for who it had been, of course, but also resigned to the fact that it meant a likely cancellation! Given the way that things tended to go with matches on LAW, worries of win streaks and other such things might be taken into account and finding someone to take such a short notice match would be next to impossible, and so it had not been looking good. But fortunately for El Rey, and all the audience who had come to see the show tonight, they would indeed find a replacement, with the luchador getting the word just moments before the match was scheduled to originally begin!

Frantically putting his boots back on after taking them off early, the luchador was late to his appearance and scrambled to get ready, quickly leaving the locker room and heading towards the entrance to the ring, walking briskly to make up for lost time! He moved fast, but still couldn't help himself as he pondered quietly who would be willing to accept such a short notice match, and what kind of woman would be waiting for him!

But pondering would do him no good, and he'd be finding out within just a few moments, so just as he arrived at the entrance to the arena proper, he'd barely even break pace as he stepped out onto the entrance ramp, the luchador making his entrance only a few seconds late!

With the match just managing to stay afloat, the crowd was excited to have the contest still taking place, and as such showed the masked man a warm welcome as he waved to them, hurriedly making his way down the ramp as if to make up for lost time! And as he eventually reached the ring, beginning to climb up onto the apron, he would turn and examine the woman who was to be his foe, and get his first real impression of who this was!

And damn. She was a looker.

She was tall, at least a few inches taller than he was, toned and blonde, and with a resting expression that looked like she was trying to freeze water into ice with her stare. Her outfit looked like an amateur wrestling singlet in some ways, down to mid thigh and bicep, plain white except for the writing over her chest, and matching elbow pads and boots. Standing inside the ring with her, she gave off an intimidating presence, looking as serious as serious could get. Which of course, meant that El Rey felt even more emboldened in breaking the ice!

"Well well, you must be my hero! The knight in shining armor who came to save the match, and a VERY good looking knight at that. Take it easy on me though. You're looking like you want to kill me already, and while I love a woman who can kick my ass, I still want to be conscious when you do it." El Rey said, laying on the flirtation from the jump as he approached the taller blonde and extended his hand to her, downplaying himself just a bit as he waited to see if she would return his handshake, or if she was as icy as her gaze!

Valerie was still doing her stretches when Rey came out, pulling back on the top rope as she crouched, trying to get some of the kinks out of her arms. She spared a look his way as he came down, only to find that he was looking back her way. That alone wasn’t odd - they were about to wrestle, after all, she should’ve been the center of his intention. But there was something in the way he gazed her way that was a tad unsettling. It wasn’t the sort of look she was used to getting from people, certainly not before matches. If she didn’t know better, she would say he was happy to see her. Maybe too happy.

She came out of her corner, hands on hips, preparing to face off, but she paused when he spoke. Silent, listening, she stood there as he spoke, unmoving save for the occasional blink. It was only a couple seconds after it all came out that she registered what he was doing.

Flirting. El Rey de Cielo was flirting with her.

Her eyebrow perked up, as she tried to process that. While she didn’t necessarily have a problem with male attention outside of the ring, it was so rare for her to get it that she almost didn’t recognize the gesture. Being a tall blonde growing up in Japan was already weird for her social prospects, but most men she came across were either turned off by her muscles or they knew her parents and figured that, because they were attracted to women, she must’ve been, too, and so they never bothered to look at her that way. It was frustrating - she wasn’t desperate for love or anything, but a date or two every now and then would’ve been nice. But she’d gotten over it. She had plenty of time to pursue such things.

That time wouldn’t be in the ring, and it certainly wouldn’t be with a man she had just met. Rey wasn’t bad on the eyes, she could admit - dark skin, an impressive physique, and she could appreciate a good singlet with her amatuer background. But she pushed all of that out of her mind, trying to focus on the task at hand. She could gawk later.

Not wanting to be uncivil, she took his handshake, albeit with no small amount of hesitation. ”I…don’t know what to say to any of that, I’m sorry.” She shook her head. ”Let’s just have a good match, okay?”

Upon entering the ring with Valerie, El Rey would move from playing to the audience as he made his way down the ramp, to addressing Valley Doll directly, stepping forwards to close a bit of the distance between them as he began to speak, some flattering words to say the least! El Rey was a known and notorious flirt, and it seemed that Valerie's quick bit of Wiki research had not let her known to expect such a thing, clearly shown by the surprised look that came over her face as she realized that he was flirting! For a moment, she looked at him like he had just unscrewed his head from atop his shoulders and tried to hand it to her, but it seemed that after she got over her initial confusion, she'd take a moment to collect herself before responding!

In a bit of an awkward reply, she'd reach out and grasp his hand in her own, returning her handshake, though she would quickly sidestep most of what he had said before simply giving him a standard "let's have a good match" reply. El Rey, of course, would flash her a smile and eventually let go of her hand as he would take a step back, still grinning as he stood across from her, the excitable luchador still more than ready to share some words as they shared the ring!

"No need to say anything! The beautiful thing about wrestling is letting our bodies do the talking! And if you're as strong as you are beautiful, this match will certainly be one to remember!" He said, his words ironic but still very earnest and well meaning!

Still, the two were here for a purpose, and as the two backed up to their separate corners that purpose would grow ever closer as the crowd got hyped, and the match rules were announced before the bell would ring once they were both ready! Once the match was underway, El Rey would confidently strut towards the center of the ring, stopping once he reached the middle and holding his hands up to the blonde across from him, waiting for her to meet him there!

"Let's see what you've got hermosa!" El Rey said with his hands up, a clear sign for Valerie that he was ready for a test of strength, looking to lock up with her to begin this match!

On the outside, Valerie kept her cool, looking every bit the focused wrestler that she wanted to be. Just like her outfit, she was a simple woman - no frills, nothing fancy, just a pure wrestler, a throwback to basics.

On the inside, she was kicking herself for being so damn awkward. She wasn’t trying to turn this into a playdate, but she didn’t have to come off like a complete stiff, either. There had to be some balanced between the two extremes, but she wasn’t going to find it today.

Rey, on the other hand, was totally relaxed, just chilling as they prepared for the match. If it wasn’t for his impressive physique, she would’ve had some trouble taking the man seriously, but he could definitely bring some real punishment with that kind of body. Maybe this was part of his strategy, trying to lure her into a false sense of security, cozy up, then blindside her when she least expected it? One part of her sounded the alarm bells, while the other part told her to stop overthinking things.

Valerie couldn't have been happier when the bell rang. Finally, time to get to the part of wrestling she was good at: the actual wrestling.

Valerie moved in with long, sure strides, not backing away from him despite the size difference. Power wasn’t the only thing that mattered when it came to a test of strength, despite the name. Her technique would come into play, too, and it was a good chance to get a feel for the way her opponent wrestled. Wrestling was like boxing in that sort of way - the first minute or two of a match was about gathering data.

She moved in, hands raised, and locked fingers with Rey, engaging him in the test of strength. As soon as they were linked, she planted her feet and pushed forward, recruiting her lower body as much as possible to drive forward with a focused, forceful push.

It might not have been the norm for El Rey to receive baffled and confused statements in response to his flirting, as surprisingly most women in LAW were ready to flirt back with him at the drop of a hat, but given Valerie's very serious appearance, he guessed he shouldn't have been surprised! Still, once it came to the actual match, she seemed far more prepared, because after El Rey had strutted out to the center of the ring, she'd follow suit, moving forwards until the two would lock up dead center in the squared circle! They were an odd mix, as Valerie had at least three inches of height over the masked man, but when it came to the statures, even being shorter wouldn't let her pass him in sheer body mass, as he was much wider than her!

Still, she would grab hold of his hands in hers, and soon after the bell rang the two would be locked up with one another, Valerie planting her feet and beginning to push hard to try and force the masked man back! El Rey would let out a grunt as he soon began to push as well, admiring Valerie's strength as she forced a backwards step out of him, the masked man looking impressed as he pushed up against her!

"Nnngh... not bad..." El Rey groaned, but even as Valerie began to dig her heels in, the masked man, shorter and more compact, would really center his strength, before leaning forwards into her, their chests pressing together as he began to push hard!

"Alright hermosa... let's see if you can really keep up!" El Rey grunted, and with that, he put his full body into the push, using his weight advantage for all it was worth as he began to try and shove her backwards! El Rey pushed his whole body into hers, creating plenty of physical contact as he attempted to begin to force her backwards, step by step, and keep his grasp tight so that she couldn't stop him! Looking to slowly back her up towards a corner, which would certainly not be good news for Valerie if he succeeded!

There. Good. This, this was much better. Valerie was never much of a woman for words, being a bad public speaker and not the wittiest talker, but now that they were actually wrestling, she could feel her confidence surging back. This was her element, her area of expertise, and she couldn't help but bring out a smile as they locked horns and Rey gave her a taste of the power he was working with.

Suffice to say, the man was strong. He was short than her, but even so, he had at least twenty pounds over Valerie, and she was willing to bet most of that was muscle. It wasn’t everyday that she was overpowered - back on her old high school wrestling team, she could outmuscle most of the guys, even some of the ones who had a size advantage over her. But Rey was a league above any of that.

She put up good resistance, using a solid stance and recruiting as much of her body as she could in the effort, but there was only so much you could do about this sort of thing, at the end of the day - she was going back, step by step, a path that would’ve wound up with her back against the turnbuckle. Not where she wanted to be this early on.

But she had options, and she chose one of the trickier ones as they neared the corner. Valerie abruptly disengaged one of her hands from Rey’s grip and used it to grab hold of his other wrist, clutching it tight and controlling it with both hands. She dipped down, ducked under, and attempted to come out to his side while she twisted his arm, looking to catch him with a swift arm wringer.

Once the bell had rung and the match had started, it could only really be considered properly underway when the two finally came together, and soon enough they were engaged in a fierce test of strength, both pushing hard in an effort to force the other once backwards! Valerie was plenty strong, the muscles in her arms and legs most certainly not for show, but even after she forced El Rey backwards slightly at the beginning, the masked man would bear down and put his size to good use, and soon enough, he was making steady progress pushing his foe backwards! Valerie strained against him, but it was becoming more and more clear that given enough time, he'd be able to muscle her towards the corner, and so the blonde would be forced to think fast!

El Rey was focused, drawing near enough to the corner that he was beginning to prepare for what came next, when Valerie would suddenly abandon trying to match his power, before ducking underneath him, spinning his wrist and moving out to the side! El Rey was quickly pulled back to the current moment as she was now off to his side, his arm twisted painfully in an arm wringer, allowing her to establish much more control over the masked man!

"Nnngh! Oof, not to rough hermosa! I need that arm..." El Rey teased, though he definitely felt it each time that she moved, his arm twisted painfully, and if he wanted to stay in this match, he'd need to get out! And to do that, he'd take a step away from the corner, giving himself some space, before he'd suddenly throw himself forwards, spinning as he gracefully flipped over onto his back, rolling backwards slightly once there, before thrusting his feet upwards and kipping up to his feet, his arm now untwisted!

"Pretty fancy, eh?" El Rey said, before suddenly grabbing hold of one of Valerie's wrists, now able to use both arms, and would do the same, completing his athletic reversal of her arm wringer! He'd twist her arm around, but the muscled male would not only twist her arm, but attempt to bend it and slide behind her, in something of a chicken wing! And if so, he'd soon press up against her, using his body to move her once more, but this time pushing against her with his chest to move them towards the corner of the ring yet again!

It might not have seemed like much, but this technical wrestling was, in Valerie’s opinion, the most important part of the match. As she felt out El Rey, she tried to get an idea of his style, what sort of offense he would be bringing to the table. He was strong, but what did he have besides that? Could she outflank him? Outmanuevre him?

So far, things looked promising. She’d managed to get the better of him for the time being, fighting his power with a deft move that gave her some temporary advantage. There were a few ways out of this, some easier than others, and she applied pressure while she waited for the answer.

She was given one soon enough, as El Rey - perhaps unsurprisingly - chose the flashier, more athletic route. She watched as the man with no small amount of weight over her performed the roll, then managed to kip up with ease, before turning her hold around and trapping her in a chickenwing. Well executed, perfectly timed and applied. Impressive, impressive.

”A little.” She responded before really thinking about it.

El Rey didn’t stop there, either, as he rushed forward to push her into the corner. Valerie brought her leg up as they neared the turnbuckle and planted her boot on the middle turnbuckle, bringing his charge to a halt. She took a quick look over shoulder to gauge position, then leaned forward and swung her arm around the side, trying to catch her opponent square in the face with her elbow and leave him stunned.

So far, Valley Doll had certainly lived up to what El Rey had expected on seeing her attire, a very solid and technical base that she quickly put to work in an attempt to control El Rey through his limbs, going for a wristlock early to keep him under her control! El Rey was very much a showman and a crowd pleaser, but he was still a technical wrestler when he needed to be, and so he would quickly reverse her wristlock, flipping over and springing up to his feet before twisting her arm behind her back in an impressive reversal! With Valerie once more under his control, he gave the tiniest of chuckles into her ear when she admitted that he had indeed impressed her with his counter, before pushing her forwards, once more towards the corner of the ring!

Valerie went along with him, pushed by the masked man up until they were nearly against the buckles, but in order to stop herself from a somewhat painful impact, the blonde's foot shot out, and El Rey would end up smushing into her back for a moment as she stopped them, before bouncing off, taking a few steps back! Valerie was plenty aware of the danger of ending up in the corner, and she was doing her best to avoid it, a real pain in the neck in terms of El Rey taking control of this match, but at the same time, it made her all the more impressive to him!

Now with him behind her, and one arm trapped behind her back, what would she be most likely to do? Thinking of what he'd attempt in this situation, he saw her free arm shift forwards, and prepared himself, releasing her and ducking underneath as she attempted to elbow him!

"Woah there hermosa! Nearly took my head off with that one!" He quipped, in spite of his deft dodge, as he attempted to shift around to her front in the same movement, popping up directly within her view! Before she could realize what was happening, he would attempt to spread his arms wide, wide enough to trap hers and force them down to her side, before he would embrace her in a hug! With a sudden shift, he'd arch his back, attempting to heft her up off of her feet completely, to really bear down her and squash her flat in a bearhug!
