”Oh, oh boy.” Lucy propped up on her elbows, trying to get a better look inside the ring, giddiness filling her eyes. ”This is gonna be funny as fuck, just watch.” She wasn’t a fortuneteller, she didn’t know exactly what was about to happen, but Lucy knew Willy, and she knew that, whenever the guy was cocky, whenever he was showing off, whenever his Williness was at its peak…that was when things were about to suck for him.

Sure enough, Shay landed behind him, and while it wasn’t a good fall, it wasn’t as bad as Willy seemed to think, if the way the guy showed off was any indication. He marched forward and struck a pose like he’d just won the match, soaking in the crowd’s boos…but it seemed like those boos also made it hard for him to hear the pitter-patter of little feet running behind him, or the sound of Theo’s warning. ”Dude, look out-”

Too late.

Shay hit the back of his legs like a miniature wrecking ball, cutting him down to size in one fell swoop, taking the big guy clean off his feet. He hollered as he topped, arms flailing, but there wasn’t anything he could do to stop gravity - he came down for a hard crash on his back and rolled to the side straightaway, nursing his battered legs. ”Ah, goddamnit!” He grunted and sat up, glaring her way. ”You frickin’ hobbit, what the hell?”

Adel had not gotten to the buddy-buddy point with the band's idle member like Rayna - far from it - but she did watch at the woman's behest. Seeing any more of Captain Bravado, especially while he held control of the match, appealed to her not at all. But catching on that he had not one clue that Shay had managed to save herself from a crash-landing and happened to be perfectly lined up for Shay to treat him like a tree primed to fall with the right stroke. Her stroke? Tumbling into his legs with that thick body of hers.

And Lucy was right. It was funny as fuck. Adel cackled despite herself, watching him cry out and try to fly and do anything he could to keep the shorter woman from knocking him to the mat. Seeing that the knock took even more out of Shay gave her pause, however, and she started heaving herself to her feet up against the barricade to see if she could scrape herself back together. She needed to - Willy did not stay down for long, and those insults were flying from his tongue again before Shay could so much as get both knees beneath her.

"Hey!" she and Rayna cried in unison at the insult, but Shay spoke up for herself. "I'm not a hobbit!" she cried, about as aggressively as she could manage - not aggressively at all. But she was moving, even if that movement remained plodding. She launched from her knees over to Willy, snatched at his big burly arm with both of her shorter arms, and swung her hips upward so her meaty thighs smacked on his abs and back for a bodyscissor.

But her legs were too short to properly lock her ankles with gravity a problem - her feet merely brushed together - and the hold was dead in the water before it even began. Shay, clearly realizing the error, tried to wrench his arm down instead... but that was a lot of muscle to drag to the mat for the sore, tired dancer.

Theo frowned towards the side of the ring, hearing Lucy laughing her ass off. Not that uncommon of a thing to hear whenever he messed something up, which was depressingly often. If this were outside the ring, he would just roll his eyes and go about his day, more than used to be the adult in the trio, but in the squared circle, where it mattered, it was more than a problem.

He looked on as Willy writhed on the mat, nursing his legs, as Shay moved back in on him. If he hadn't seen what happened with his own eyes, he’d never have guessed how they got to this point in the first place, with all the size and strength that he had over the brunette. But it was more apparent than ever that she was packing serious power into that body of hers; he wouldn't have been surprised if she was heavy enough to make the middleweight class with legs like that weighing her down.

She was about to use those legs, too, and Theo started to panic as she tried to get them around his waist, giving him Neith flashbacks. But Neith had been a much bigger woman than Shay, with at least half a foot on her, more than able to get her legs around Willy’s waist and clamp on. As strong as her legs were, they wouldn’t matter much if she couldn't lock them.

Willy saw it, too, and immediately flipped about in the hold, getting on top of her and pinning her down. ”Yeah, nice try!” He moved down, grabbed her legs, and put a thigh on each off his shoulders, clenching them tight to keep her in place. ”But not happening. Just gotta put you down harder, babe!”

He planted one foot on the mat, then the other, and rose from there, bringing his strength to the forefront as he deadlifted Shay off the mat with ease and got her into the powerbomb position - the first step of his finishing move, Hot-Blooded.

It took no great wrestling experience for Shay to sense the walls closing in on her. She had dodged two match-ending bullets by some combination of luck and reliance on her greatest skills, and she couldn't imagine having a third rabbit in her hat. Yet she had already aggressed her way into a screw-up. Her cheeks flushed red after she couldn't get her sweaty legs around his sweaty, meaty torso. His arm wouldn't collapse under her weight even though she did everything in her power to yank down on it.

And if her face hadn't reddened enough already from the failure, it did when he whirled around and put that weight on top of her. Shay grunted, grit her teeth, and wriggled as he pinned her, but nothing she could do would force him off of her, nor would it stop him from heaving her thighs and hips in the air so he situated one over each shoulder. Her calves helplessly dangled, and her upper body didn't have the strength left in it after the stomp and the spear and all the effort she had given to squirrel out of his grip before. The same concern she had shown when he had lifted her less than a minute earlier crossed through her green eyes, and Shay could only groan a complaint as he used all of his might to heft her in the air.

"Oh my God..." Her voice warbled with anxiety while she mentally tore through all the options to stop what was coming. Again, it took no wrestling genius to recognize a powerbomb. But she knew that cleverness, strategy, and tact would get her nowhere, and failing Adel who had put her whole body on the line to win this would have bothered her as much as having an ice pack on her back for the next two weeks. She lashed out on instinct - she bashed her fists like a club against the top of his head, grabbed a handful of his hair, and used every ounce of energy still in her body to pull his face so tightly against her crotch that she would be able to smell his aftershave on his bottoms for another week. At the same time, she slammed her thighs together until they covered up all but his eyebrows. This time, she did lock her ankles, turning both legs into ramrod-straight walls of muscle.

She would go down if he did, but other options had long since passed her by.

Willy didn’t usually watch his matches back, not seeing much of the point in reviewing mistakes, but he would make an exception for this one. Not because he wanted to improve in the ring or anything, but not because he got some thrill from watching himself get beat. No, he’d look back over the recordings in the hope of figuring out what the fuck happened to him.

The last thing he remembered was getting her up in a position for the powerbomb, hoisting her high, and marching forward. It was a simple enough move that he’d done a dozen times on Theo, who weighed far more than Shay. He should’ve been able to smash her, no problem. Should’ve spiked her right into the canvas and won the match, easy. But then he felt her legs come around his skull, they tightened and-

Yeah. Blackout.

He’d go back and watch it on a YouTube short, #3 on some smartass’ Top 10 LAW Knockouts list, and watch as Shay caught him in a tight headscissors. He teetered this way, tottered the other, then fell backward, flat on his ass, with Shay on top of him, squeezing away like a limpet. The referee rushed over and lifted his hands a few times, but he wasn’t going anywhere - all he did was twitch a few times. Theo didn't even have time to come in and save him.

Just like that, the bell was rung and the match was over. Amidst the cheering crowd, he could hear Lucy laughing her ass off.

Shay didn't know what had happened, either. With her body a five-foot-stretch of nothing but tension and her mind switched to an unfamiliar setting - crush - she prepared herself for the inevitable pain of his slamming her to the mat. She just reminded herself to hold tight, and no matter what, she still had a chance to win with her legs around his head. A chance only, yes, but after her last few minutes in the ring, she would take even the smallest odds.

But he never slammed her. They teetered right and left. In her fog of focus, she didn't think to check on the lights upstairs. But she did consider it a victory when he fell backward. Her heels banged on the mat, followed by her entire rigid body, but Shay fought through it to keep up her devastating work. Her hands continued to pull at his head, her thighs continued to constrict, and she - well, she tried to ignore the part where she could feel his smothered breaths against her lap, but she glanced at her own legs bulging and rippling around his skull as if she wanted them to do more.

He didn't fight back. She didn't know what to make of that, and she had that niggling feeling that she might have been... pushing his buttons or something. Guys, even the cocky ones who liked to be in charge, enjoyed all sorts of things. "Just... go ahead and tap!" she commanded, but she didn't get her tap. Instead, she got a ref sliding into place and lifting his arm. It dropped. It dropped again. It dropped a third time, and Shay, almost too shocked to comprehend it, just stared at her and kept squeezing. "He's out! He's out! The match is over!"

Only the bell and the crowd lifting broke through to her, and Shay gasped, letting his reddened head go all at once. She... she had just...

"You beautiful bitch!" Rayna screamed as she rolled in and helped tow a still sore-looking Adel to her feet. The blonde tackled her, bringing pain to sore ribs, but Shay didn't exactly care as the ring announcer declared her and Adel the winners to an appreciative crowd.

Lucy had gotten to play a gig, met a hot blonde, had her ass rubbed by that hot blonde,.and now she’d seen Willy get knocked the fuck out.

Today was a good day.

After she was done laughing her ass off, she joined Theo in the ring, standing over Willy’s unconscious body while he kneeled beside him. The big lug looked even dumber than usual, with a trail of drool coming out of his mouth, leaving a pool on the canvas. She gave him a little tap in the side with her toe and didn’t get a response. ”Wow, he’s really out.”

Theo just side-eyed her, his trademark ‘I’m disappointed in you’ expression. ”Yeah, oxygen deprivation tends to have that effect on people.”

”How long, you think?”

”I have absolutely no idea.”

”Well, you’d better call the medics or something if it takes too long.” She straightened up and folded her arms. ”Because there is no way in hell I’m helping you haul his big ass-”

”FUCK! Willy sat up with a start, rising so fast that he nearly konked head with Theo. He looked around startled, blinking, sputtering, as if his mind was filling in all the blanks at once and leaving him behind. ”Whatwhatwhat happened? Is it over? What? Did I win? What the fuck?”

”The hobbit knocked you out, Wonder Boy.” She pointed over to Artistry, who were fully engaged in their post-match victory celebration. Judging from the befuddled look on Willy’s face, he’d never been less happy to see three young women in bathing suits jumping around. ”Got those killer thighs around your neck and just…” She made a scissor motion with her fingers and gagged, doing her best to recreate the moment, just so he could visualize it all it’s humiliating glory.

"You two! I'm so proud of you!"

Realizing she held two tired and sore girls in one-armed bearhugs, Rayna finally let them both go and let the ref raise their arms. Both beamed and gazed out into the cheering crowd in awe of their own accomplishment and the reception, but the battle scars remained, Shay holding her side and Adel holding her collarbone. Rayna knew them both well enough to know that when the pain subsided and the shock of winning turned into a sense of accomplishment, they would go out on the town for one kicking party. At this moment, she just watched them congratulate each other with a hug.

"You did great. You also picked the right one to crush."

Shay giggled herself into a weak cough. "And you were amazing. I couldn't have done it if you didn't go crazy before I even got in the ring."

Rayna slapped them both on the ass when the moment drew on, triggering both to glare at her. "Come on, lovebirds! You can congratulate each other later. It's time for crowd-pandering."

The two, ever-reluctant to pander (especially while wearing bikinis), started to sheepishly follow her to make a lap about the ring, but Shay stopped to look at BlazeWave. Rayna figured what she meant to say - she had always been the thoughtful one of the group - and the dancer nodded her head at the three of them. "They did a good job too. We should say something."

Rayna certainly had the incentive. "Yeah! Come on."

Adel, however, wore a pout and crossed arms as she stared at Willy. Ultimately, though, she just blew a raspberry. "Fine."

Naturally, Rayna led the way, making a near beeline to drop in nearest Lucy. After passing a knowing glance between the drummer and Willy and resisting the urge to whisper something naughty, she waited her turn, knowing it was the other two who needed to be the ones carrying the olive branch given they had fought in the war. Surprisingly, Adel stepped forward with a hand outstretched to Theo first.

"The match was as good as the music."

So, that was BlazeWave’s debut match in the bag. Theo couldn't say he was happy, but he tried to look positively. Things could have gone way worse. There was no shortage of dangerous individuals in LAW, women who would’ve had no qualms picking apart a couple of guys like them and making this an embarrassing affair - for more than it wound up being, anyway. Artistry had been competitive and respectful, even when certain individuals weren’t that way to them. LAW could use more teams like them in the mix.

Plus, you learned more from your losses than your victories, anyway. BlazeWave had good data they could apply for their next outing, which would be useful. If he could get Willy to stop pouting long enough to listen, anyway.

Theo started to get Willy standing, only managing to get him up halfway. He fixed his eyes on Lucy, and the two ran the gamut of expression before she finally caved in with a sigh. ”Fine, fine.” She took the other shoulder and helped him up the rest of the way, getting him up on two wobbly feet just as their former - and likely future - opponents made their way over. Adel extended her hand for a shake, and Theo accepted it without a second thought.

”Yeah, it-” He stumbled as Lucy abruptly hurried off, leaving him to do all the balancing while she ducked under the ropes and made her way to the announcer’s table. He looked her way, puzzled, before turning back to Adel. ”Yeah, it was a good match. You guys trained well, and it showed.” He gave Willy, who was looking off to the side with a pout, a little punch in the gut to recenter his attention. ”Something we’ve got to work on, right?”

Willy shifted his lips about as he looked Artistry over, his gaze drifting downwards to the legs that had put him to sleep just a few minutes ago. ”I guess. Whatever.” He huffed. ”I say it was lucky, kind of. Two seconds more, and I’d have had you down, dead bang.”

Theo rolled his eyes at that, but Lucy returned to the ring before he had the chance to add on, carrying a folded-up sheet of notepad paper in her hand. He couldn't say for sure, but he had a good idea what she wrote on it, and his suspicions were practically confirmed when she handed it over to Rayna. ”For you.” She winked. ”Call me anytime.”

Adel reminded herself that, while Willy had rubbed her the wrong way (literally and figuratively) with his discourtesy and bluster, the other two had done nothing to earn such ire. Love of competition had always coursed through her veins - her family had made its fortune through competition - and good sportsmanship made competition that much better. And Theo proved a perfect gentleman, and her smile at him deepened as he directed his ire at his bull-headed teammates rather than at his opponents. Good man. "Thank you. We did everything in our power to get ready for today."

Adel had to imagine that Lucy must have proven interesting to Rayna, too, as the blonde's eyes trailed away like those of a puppy dog when the drummer walked away, leaving Willy and Shay as the only ones without a kindness shared. While Adel might have given Willy her best set of pursed, callous lips at his declaration that he would have had it if it wasn't for the meddling kids, Shay blew the bluenette's mind with the closest thing she could imagine Shay mustering to a sassy smile... and doubled down. "We could do it again if you want a second try." Adel laughed, Rayna whistled, and Shay quickly retreated, almost looking embarrassed that she had said it. Adel regarded her with pride.

Adel watched Rayna's face brighten when Lucy scurried back with paper in hand. It didn't take Adel much effort to guess it carried a phone number that, knowing Rayna, would be called before sundown. "You bet your bottom I will. And take care of that thing, will you? No more frying it." the blonde said, giving the drummer a flirtatious smack on the ass.

Sigh. Adel supposed they all got something out of the day, and as the people in charge in the event came and told them that they needed to clear out for the next match, Adel wrapped an arm around Shay and started to leave. Rayna didn't join them, and she glanced over her shoulder at their most hyperactive member.

"And... as a little parting favor?" She watched Rayna dip Lucy into a brief but eager peck on the lips that would have made the man in the famous V-J Day picture proud.

Shay and Adel rolled their eyes at each other and left her.
