So, less than a minute into the match, and what did Theo know about Adel?
She was French, maybe Canadian. Wouldn’t help him win the match, but it was an interesting tidbit.
She was a littl aloof in the ring, easily distracted, but she got her act together quick enough.
Oh, and she could kick. She could kick damn well.
He learned that fact out in two ways. First was when launched that weird kick in his gut, knocking the wind out of him and staggering him back. It didn’t hurt so much as it surprised him, not expecting a move from that angle. And, he was well on track to recover from it when he looked and noticed that she was no longer on the floor. His mind put the pieces togehter and he looked up just in time to spy her flying towards him, but not in time to do anything about.
This was the second way he learned about her kicks, when she landed a stiff blow that caught him on the chin and sent him spinnin away. He only came to a stop when his chest smacked into the turnbuckle, and he wound up laying against the pads with his back to the rest of the ring. Not the best position to fight from.
Though it was close enough for him to hear what was going on at ringside, where Lucy seemed to be making friends with Rayna. He looked over as the drummer walked over to the blonde, rubbing her butt for some reason as she approached. ”Lotion would be nice, actually.” She had a sheepish, nervous laugh, one that she never brought out for male company. ”Only if you help me put it on, though.” She let a beat go by. ”Joking.”
Even through his kick induced stupor, Theo managed to sigh. At least someone was having a good time.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Adel admired few things more than a well-made watch, how it would tick along with perfect precision until something - a dead battery, an accident - stopped it. In every competition, she aspired to be as precise and consistent as those watches. Despite the early glitches, everything seemed to be ticking along. Her foot bashed into his face, a strange and uncomfortable sensation without her boots, and she watched him tumble toward a turnbuckle. Watching was not the perfect choice, as she returned to the ground faster than she had anticipated and felt the canvas burn as she skidded into a landing, but the result was perfection. He was draped in the corner.
Adel scurried to her feet, primed like a painter's canvas for her art. She crouched, kicked out a leg like a sprinter ready to leap out of the blocks, and rushed toward him, her gait as she neared him making it clear she meant to take a leap. Leap she did, pumping her legs and getting applause-worthy height on a dropkick. Her feet loudly smacked against his upper back as she extended her body, and though the resistance from kicking him against the turnbuckle sent her falling hard to the canvas, she knew all about falling from gymnastics. She was already reaching for him before she fully got to her feet, trying to tug on his waist so he would roll onto his shoulders.
And as she did, she caught enough of the context between Rayna and the drummer to throw a scoff her teammate's way. "Ohh, don't tease me with that kind of joke." That flirty voice of hers. "You'll get me excited."
"Rayna, please," she huffed while she worked to get the heavy hunk rolled up with his leg hooked.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
While Willy would still have preferred to be on the inside looking out than on the outside looking in, he could say that he was a little more interested now that things were kicking off. Especially since Theo was getting kicked around - he’d wanted to start off, and well, this was what happened.
He looked on as Adel got the better of him twice in a row, putting him up against the corner and leaving him stunned. Theo wasn’t as weak as you’d guess with a scrawny body like that, but the dude did better when he was dodging hits, not taking them, and the blue babe was dishing them out hard. She didn’t let up, either, moving in on him with a dropkick before he could even think of getting to safety.
The blow hammered him against the pads, he went down, and she crawled over him to get the first pinfall of the match. The referee dropped down in a flash and started slapping.
”1…!”
Theo kicked out right away and pushed Adel off as he flopped to his chest, but he wasn’t able to do much more than that. And like a good friend, Willy made sure to twist the knife. ”Hey, having some trouble, man?” He leaned over the ropes and waved his hand. ”That little girl’s really working you over. Want to tag out?”
Willy only heard him make some grumbled noise that sounded close to ‘fuck off’. Not much, but he’d take it, and he was about to follow up with another taunt, when he looked and saw Lucy at ringside with Rayna, chatting it up, all smiles. Enjoying herself far too much for his tastes.
”Nothing wrong with getting excited.” Lucy sashayed her way past Rayna, putting an annoying amount of sway in her hips as she passed, and grabbed one of the foldable beach chairs near the announcers’ table. ”Could use that lotion, though, seriously. Would like to sit down on my pretty little behind in the near future.”
Willy did his best not to gag.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Adel didn't need any more of Shay's coaching. Relegated to the official team clapper since Rayna looked to have found someone to befriend and/or charm, Shay went through the whole gamete of emotions watching Adel deliver the dropkick and go for the pin. She didn't think the series of kicks would end the match any more than Adel likely did, but she swung a leg up and got ready in case Willy jumped in to interrupt. Nope. He still looked bored, so the dancer settled back into place and her clapping duties when the count ended at one. "Keep it up, Adel!"
Her praise intermingled with Willy's insulting call from the other corner. That... was another way to motivate one's partner, and Shay had to cover her mouth for the snickering when Adel broke out with "I am not a little girl!" Fortunately, the slight did not stop her. With Theo lying on his stomach and still in the corner, Adel was going up. Shay could all but feel her blood pressure rising to watch her friend ascend, knowing what was about to come, and her hands tightened on the top rope. "Be careful be careful be careful..."
Rayna, passing along beneath her, barely seemed to notice, a bottle of lotion in her hand, surely taken from their medical bag. "I'm all for preserving pretty behinds." Shay started to call out to her to watch... but no, no point. Her eyes flew back to Adel, though, and she watched the high-flying bluenette set her feet on the top rope, breathe, line up, just like they were at a gymnastics meet. By the shift in her friend's face, Shay could tell she was going to jump, and Shay - and the crowd by the sound of it - could have pulled the casing off the ropes watching Adel flip head-over-heels to drop her weight ass-first on Theo's back.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Willy was a lot of things, but quiet? Subtle? Not obnoxious? Never any of those. So Lucy wasn’t the least bit surprised that he’d already managed to tick one of the women off, calling her ‘little girl’, which got the predictable response that you’d expect from just about any woman old enough to be wrestling in LAW. The crazy thing was he had a good track record for picking up women, despite being a jerkish jock about 90% of the time. She and Theo could never quite figure it out, but it was rare for him not to be dating someone—wonders of the universe.
”I dunno, you both look pretty small to me.” Said the six-foot-tall footballer. Lucy just rolled her eyes at the macho talk and refocused on the more pleasant business of having her backside rubbed down, setting the beach chair flat, and laying on it, putting her entire back on full display and giving Rayna full access. She idly kicked her legs back and forth as she split her attention between Rayna and the ring, eager to see what kind of treatment she’d get.
”Sorry if my dumbass friend pisses yours off, by the way.” She nodded back towards Willy. ”It’s only gonna get worse, trust me. Also, she’s about to crash.”
Lucy made that little prediction when she saw the blue woman ascending the ropes, clearly planning to rain some destruction from above. While she wasn’t a wrestler, she’d seen the guys training enough and had a good idea of what they could and couldn't take. Theo was the weaker of the two, but he was no pushover, either, and it would take a lot more than what she’d dished out so far to keep him down for long.
Sure enough, he rolled to the side as she came down, giving her nothing but a bare mat to land on with her cute butt. Probably wouldn’t be the greatest feeling in the world, Lucy could imagine.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Rayna could not see things going much better for Artistry. Adel was killing it in the ring. She was killing it with the band's hot drummer. Red trunks was sufficiently pissing off her teammates and getting them riled up, because if anything could unite Adel and Sha'ree and compel them to show some passion, it was a guy being a jerk. As she skedaddled her way over to the enticingly lounging form awaiting a good butt-rubbing, she shrugged at said lounging beauty's apology for her bandmate and started squirting lotion in her hand. "Adel would get ticked if he breathed on her the wro- what!?"
The last part - about Adel crashing - hadn't dawned on her entirely, but she whipped her head around in time to see her friend go ass-first into the canvas. "Oh shit!" The blonde ducked underneath the bottom rope, almost smearing lotion all over the canvas, and ignored the ref's waving her off. "Dely! You alright?" With how she grimaced, hissed, stiffened up, and held her ass and lower spine, Rayna could tell that her answer was not remotely truthful.
"Fine... fine!" The bluenette's survival instincts took over, and she rolled and scooted until she could reach the ropes, the only break in her grimace being a glare in red trunks' direction. Rayna really should ask which one was which. Knowing she couldn't do anything for her friend, Rayna leaned away while Adel pulled herself up by way of the ropes and propped herself up to give her coccyx one last rub.
Once she had backed her way to the drummer again, Rayna dropped to her knees in the sand and water beside the lounge chair. "Do these boys worry you half to death like that, too?" she asked, and her fingers started at the bottom of the scorched cheek and rubbed over the swell of it. Her mood improved noticeably. So smooth.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Theo breathed a sigh of relief as Adel crashed down beside him, glad that he’d stopped her momentum before it got even further out of hand. He had no clue where these three had come from, but going off what he’d seen so far, they had some excellent training behind them, showing off no small amount of talent. Well-organized, athletic, smart, dangerous. If he was being honest, a good team for them to start their career on - better than some of the sadistic dominatrixes that the intergender division had running around.
With Adel down and stunned, now was as good a time as any to tag Willy in, and Theo rolled over to do just that, when he heard the familiar Latin hum of Lucy’s voice. He had expected her to come down and ‘cheer’ them on, so that wasn’t too much of a surprise. Seeing her about to get a rubdown from Rayna, a woman she couldn't have known for over a minute? That was a shocker.
”Worried? Nah.” Lucy shook her head and wiggled her hips as Rayna went to work. ”They’re big boys. As long as their hands don’t get fucked up, doesn’t bother me much.” She cooed as those soft hands slid along her sides and made them shine in the blazing sun. “I’m just here for the scenery.”
Theo huffed and shook his head - he would’ve loved to add onto that, but he doubted Adel would stay down long enough to allow it. Instead, he pushed to his feet and moved over to his corner, where he quickly tagged Willy in. ”You’re up. Keep the pressure on her.”
”I got it, I got it.” He bounded over the ropes and made his way over to Adel, rolling his shoulders as he approached with a casual stroll. ”I weigh more than both of them combined, pretty sure. This is light work.”

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Adel had fallen on her ass many times. Gymnasts got used to it. But being used to it did not mean it hurt any less or that she hated it any less, and doing so because a man had evaded her and made her look like a fool made it that much worse. The Canadian would have almost rather done the splits on the beam than have to cobble herself back up onto one knee and lean over the ropes with her butt and back burning. She resisted the urge to touch her butt again, instead cutting her eyes to the obscene scene happening just outside of the ring. Rayna could not take her hands off of that drummer. "Good point! And I hope the scenery and the hands are both to your liking." Good grief.
Her legs reforming out of jelly, Adel pulled herself the rest of the way to her feet and looked where Theo had been lying a second before. He was up and heading across the ring... to that brute. Adel scowled at him as he started to make his way over. Having taken to a blistering pace so far, the soreness tipped her off that maybe she shouldn't follow Theo's lead. She made eye contact with Shay, who was already reaching one of those short arms out to offer a tag if she needed it. Adel made it halfway to shuffling in the dancer's direction.
...Then she heard him. His insult. Cold eyes shot in his direction, and the way he was walking over toward her like he could manhandle her any way he wanted. Her pain felt like it melted away. "Light work..." she hissed, and like a viper, she turned and struck out to slap his face.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
Yeah, light work sounded about right to him. It might have come off as a little hypocritical, given how his first ‘match’ in LAW had involved an Egyptian dominatrix who could barely wrestle, coming close to knocking him out between her thighs, but Willy was never a man to live in the past. He was all about the here and now, and neither of these chicks was anywhere close to being as intimidating as Neith. He could probably bench-press both of them together. Nothing he needed to be worried about.
So as he neared Adel, he came in with a cocky swagger, not seeing much danger. Hell, he expected her to tag out with her smaller partner, the cutie with the long, brown hair. He was curious to see what her deal was about. Let Theo and Adel do all the flipping.
What he got, instead, was a slap to the face.
The blow hit with an ear-ringing noise, and the sheer shock of it drove Willy back. He looked back her way a second later with wide eyes, as the crowd - and Lucy on top of them - gave him a good laugh, with a few claps mixed. Not the message he wanted to convey.
Easy enough to fix, though.
”Oh, big mistake. Big.” If Adel wanted to play like that, he’d go for it. Willy stepped back, then ran forward and swung his arm at her pretty face, looking to clobber her with a powerful lariat.

Re: Artistry vs. BlazeWave - Good Vibrations
What Shay admired the most in Adel, she would call resilience. Other people would call it stubbornness. Stretching out her arm to offer the bluenette the tag, Shay already suspected she wouldn't take it. She would see the fall as a mistake, not as Theo outmaneuvering her, and she would want to rectify it. But Adel surprised her with the longing look in her direction, and Shay swung her arm that much more readily to encourage her to come over. Nervous or no, Shay didn't want her friend to stay in there if she needed time to recover.
But Shay knew the promise of Adel taking a reprieve slipped into nothing when that furious look crossed her porcelain figures. And then the slap. It was so loud that Shay could hear it reverberating off of some of the seats. "Oh no..." The dancer couldn't hear what was being said, but she knew that Adel was in it now... and she covered her mouth with a fist, anxiously anticipating the throwdown.
Adel anticipated it too - but too late. As the lariat hit, Shay watched through her fingers and listened as Adel cried out, folded back, went ass-over-teakettle, and landed with her feet in the air before they flopped back to leave her on her back, prone at Willy's feet. The crowds oohs almost made it worse. She almost rushed into the ring to take advantage of the few seconds of help she could offer, but she shouldn't. She shouldn't. He would just clobber her too, and it hadn't gotten that bad yet... right?
