“You suck, Maria!”

“Go back to where you came from, four-eyes!”

“Booooooooooooooooooo!”

Ah, the old familiar sounds of an idiotic crowd hurling hate her way. Maria Carwford had almost forgotten how good it felt.

She basked in the seering glow as she made her way down to the ring, strutting forward with a confident stride. She’d gotten a taste of it the last time she’d come out, when she and the other Fallen Angels had laid waste to the impertinent Thunder Ryoko. Back then, the audience had been too shocked by the sudden appearance of so many familiar faces to properly digest what they were seeing, but now they were fully prepared to send real heat her way, and she was more than eager to accept it. It had been years since she’d come down the ramp, and she’d almost forgotten how invigorating of a feeling it could be.

All these people hating her, wishing her demise, wanting her to fail. She could see it on their faces and hear it in their taunts, as they hurled ineffective epithets her way. It brought back such wholesome memories - of course, the woman beside her wasn’t present in any of those.

No, Zero Kotobuki was a new addition to her life, and a welcome one. The silent killer of Wrestle Angels walked beside, eyes forward and face rigid, almost marching in a mechanical fashion. It was always a wonder to watch the woman move. She had a singular purpose to everything she did, unfettered for futile emotions, and while Maria could melt her to some degree in private, when it was time for business she had a focus unlike any other.

Their opponent truly had no idea what she was in for. But that was the whole point, wasn’t it. ”Remember, Zero,” She spoke up, just as they reached the bottom of the stairs. ”This is about sending a message. Showing the world what we’re all about. So lay into her, but make sure it’s not too quick. I want suffering, understand?”

”Understood.”

Maria stood by and looked on as Zero made her way into the ring, slipped through the ropes, and headed towards her corner without so much as acknowledging the referee’s existence. It was this kind of laser focus that pressed her to start up the twitter spat that led to this match in the first place. From what she could tell, Carolina - or Isjoininna, as her online handle went - was just a newcomer to LAW, looking to make her name. As such, there’d be little chance of her knowing what she had signed up for in accepting this match. So much the better.

Carolina could hear the crowd booing and jeering the opposition as she remained backstage. It looked like she'd be getting to play the face in the match. Not that it would change her conduct all that much, but it would leave it more 'justified' in the eyes of the fans, which always had its benefits. Soon after her theme began, Isljoninna exited the backstage. At the top of the ramp, she'd execute a pirouette before taking a bow and gradually making her way the the ring with her hands on her hips, subtly moving them from side to side as she walked with a smile on her face, milking the length of the theme for much of its worth, while ensuring that the crowd got a good look at her.

As she made her way to the ring, she spotted the woman soon to be her opponent and the woman who set her up for it. She was none too impressed by what she saw, but she figured it was best to assume that they were a threat one way or another. Climb the steel steps to the ring, Isljoninna would stop to grab the ring post and hang backwards while turning to Maria. The smile on her face quickly morphing into a malicious smirk before she began to speak to her:

"I'm going to snap your green haired friend in two."

Next, Isljoninna would step into the ring and hand her gat to the referee while taking a closer look at her opponent. She was certainly significantly smaller than her and she didn't seem to have the type of light yet sinewy build she'd seen on women that were smaller than her but none the less strong. Yet given what she knew of Maria, she doubted that the woman before her didn't have some notable ability that made her a worthy fighter. Her first guesses was that she was looking at a technical submission artist, a striker, some type of aerial specialist, or some combination of the three. If nothing else, Carolina was almost certain that Zero would be a fast moving opponent.

Regardless of what it was, Carolina figured that her best bet was making the match a battle of power and grappling. She'd spend the moments before the bell rang trying to get as close to Zero as the referee would allow her, while partially bending her knees to get lower to Zero's level for the purpose of immediately getting her into a typical wrestling lock up as soon as the bell rung.

Maria’s ever-present smile grew even wider as Zero’s opponent came through the curtains and made her way down the ramp, accompanied by no small amount of pomp and circumstance. She was definitely proud of her body, and that pride was well-earned. She was certainly a rare beauty, and the tiny Twitter picture hadn't done her justice. Long, gleaming hair, framing a face that simply glowed, no doubt the product of a good deal of time in the mirror. There was an almost haunting quality about her, as if she were a princess from some far away, fictional world. A glittering, shimmering star.

Maria couldn't keep herself from giving the woman an appreciate nod as she spoke her way, admiring the gumption. She was impressed.

Zero was not.

Zero didn’t move as her opponent came to the ring. Didn’t speak. Didn’t move. Didn't even twitch. She stayed there, still as a statue, as her opponent came to the ring and towered over her, and the slight movement of her eyes was the only evidence she even registered the world around her. Maria knew how off-putting it could be, having often experienced it when they sparred, and she didn’t even have anything to fear from Zero most of the time.

There was no way to know how Carolina would respond to it. But it would hardly matter. ”Three, two, one…”

The bell rang and Zero went into motion in an instant. There was no hesitation in her movements, not an ounce of consternation or preparation. She was simply still one second, then moving the next, closing the gap between her opponent in a blinding flash of incredible speed. She sent her first strike down the center lane, coming through her open hands with a straight aimed at Carolina’s pretty face. She followed it up in the next instance with a low kick at the taller woman’s knees, executing both attacks in such a quick fashion that they almost seemed simultaneous.

Both women were ready to go on the attack the moment the bell rung, Carolina going in for a grapple, figuring that closing distance as quickly as possible was her best bet, with Zero immediately going for a punch at Carolina's head. As She was still moving down for her grapple, the punch would end up hitting Isljoninna's forehead, rather than her face. As for Zero's low kick knees, the fact that they were bent in preparation for grappling meant that they were a lot less structurally vulnerable than they'd otherwise be.

Nonetheless, both attacks would force Carolina back with a grunt, while preventing her from engaging for the grapple as she was hoping for. However this didn't mean that Isljoninna wouldn't at least attempt to counter attack. Provided that Zero couldn't outpace her reply, Carolina would move in to target a meaty knee strike into Zero's torso. If that worked, she wouldn't get fancy, she'd just proceed to attempt to grab Zero to hold her in place a follow up knee lift to the torso.

And the first strike went to Zero. It often did, in Maria’s experience - most opponents just did not expect someone with her size and body to be that aggressive, so it was easy for her to seize the initiative. It was a good way to take her foes off guard, and the results were often explosive.

Carolina was finding that out first hand, as the attack made her reel back, but to her credit, she didn’t stay stunned for long. A moment had only passed before she was on the attack herself, moving in to meet her smaller foe with a knee that sunk into Zero’s stomach. It was only enough to make the Wrestle Angel grunt - few things hit hard enough to make Zero yell in pain - but the pain was clear, even through her icy facade. That one had hurt, as did the second knee she took when her foe came in and grappled.

Zero wasn’t one to be bullied about, however. She took the blows, stepped back, then reached up to grab her opponent’s hair, getting to handfuls of Carolina’s shimmering locks. She pulled the woman in close, then kicked out her legs and dropped down on her rear, attempting to slam the Swede’s face with a sitout jawbreaker.

Carolina's knee strikes landed as intended and while Zero would only grunt, looking at her face it was clear that she had caused her considerable pain. When Zero stepped back, after the strikes, Carolina immediately stepped forward, she hoped to ify her speed by keeping close and personal and damaging her torso by means of her superior strength and mass.

Regardless of what this girl was doing yanking her hair, the stocky powerhouse figured that she'd be able to overcome her opponent. So as she her hair grabbed and was pulled closer to Zero, Isljoninna wrapped up her torso, for the purpose of deploying a
Belly to Belly Suplex!

If she pulled that off, her next move would be to, perhaps presumptuously, attempt to lift the girl up off the ground and drop her on her knee for a backbreaker. Carolina had told Maria that she was going to snap Zero in two and the powerful Swede intended to do exactly that.

The referee would throw a cautious look back Maria’s way every now then, warily eying her as she circled the ring, as if she would make her way in and interrupt the match at any point. It wasn’t completely unfounded, to be fair - after all, given the way she and the other Fallen Angels had made their debut in LAW, it was safe to assume that they weren’t of a mind to play by the rules. She would readily acknowledge that she had no qualms interfering, if it was needed.

If it was needed. This was not a case where her assistance was required.

It might not have seemed like that at the moment, though, as Zero was pulled out of her attempted jawbreaker and yanked into a tight suplex, one that had her light form flinging through the air. She hit with as hard of an impact as you could expect from her size, only to be lifted up and brought down across Carolina’s knee. The hit bent her over at a bad angle, nearly folding her over around the woman’s leg.

But she wasn’t done just yet. Though the move clearly hurt, Zero had enough wherewithal to keep fighting, and brought her leg up, trying to hit Carolina in the face with a quick knee and escape.

Carolina had successful completed her Suplex, sending Zero hard to the mat. She then wasted no time picking her up and slamming her across her knee. When she could see the smaller woman bend over her knee awkwardly, Carolina knew she'd done a good amount of harm to her back, buth that didn't mean she couldn't continue trying to bend Zero over her knee.

This her plan, overpower the woman with her superior strength and size, until she simply couldn't move anymore. Unfortunately for Carolina, her current working on Zero's back would be interrupted by a knee to the face, which would see her grunt in pain and drop her foe, holding the side of her face with one hand as she stood back up and a few steps backward.

Space and time. That was all Zero needed.

She created the first requirement when she brought her knee crashing against Carolina’s face, hammering her with the hard point, right on the side of her dome. It was enough of an impact to even make Maria wince - she’d trained and sparred with the Silent Killer enough to know how impactful they could be, how they could scramble your brain, and she could only imagine how rattled they left the blonde. It made for a pleasant thought, really.

But Zero wasn’t done. As Carolina staggered back on her feet, she gave Zero the second part of the equation: time. Time to her feet and massage some pain out of her aching back. Enough time to look up and center on her target. Most important of all, it gave her time to dash forward, make a short hop up, and shoot her legs out at a low angle, aiming at dropkick at her opponent’s knee.
