Galactic Battle: Piper Sherwood vs Aurora Estrella

Backstage in the LAW arena, close to the guerilla position was one Piper Sherwood preparing for her next and hopefully successful bout in LAW. She had some really good succesful bouts recently, finally managing to turn her losing streak around and get a rather dominant win over the debuting Sayako. Granted the girl wasn’t exactly capable buttt thats not what mattered. What mattered was that Piper was on cloud nine after and was feeling extremely confident.

That’s why she had gone to LAW management and asked for a opponet that was both lightweight and skilled, someone that a win over would definitively show her as a top contendor. Thus she soon found herself pitted against a third of the tag team world champions. Aurora Estrella the galaxy cat. Having done her research before hand Piper knew it wouldn’t be a easy match. But she was confident, besides the girl reminded her of the girls she used to tease back in high school so hopefully she could use that to her advantage.

Besides that though, ending the woman’s undefeated streak would certainly be a boon to Piper’s reputation. Especially since there was talk of the girl being a potnetial contendor for the lightweight belt. What better way to propel herself into the title picture than taking outthe undefeated girl demanding a match? It was perfect!

Stretching her leg out on a crate Piper cracked her neck in addition as she physically and mentally prepared for the bout. Wearing her new ring gear, tight green shorts, a white gold and green top with a sleeve on one arm, and her golden blonde hair in a pony tail, she certainly looked the part of a cheerleader gone wrestler. Pulling her leg back she turned to the guerilla position as her music kicked in.

Coming out to the song White Rabbit by Egypt Central Piper smirked as she posed for the crowd, earning a decent amount of cheers from those that had seen her perform as of late and had been impressed by her progress. Sauntering down the ramp she smiled proudly and halfway down the ramp she broke into a run before leaping up and starting to flip her way towards the ring.

Reaching the apron Piper turned and backflipped the rest of the way, landing in a split on the outside apron. Pressing her body down against the apron she would the. Rolling the rest of the way under the ring she pulled herlegs under her before backflipping and landing with ehr arms in the air to another round of appluase. Walking to her corner she smirked while watching the entrance ramp waiting for her masked opponet to come down.

Things were looking up for LAW's resident Galaxy Cat. The more she prospered and the more her team prospered, the more people heard about it, both in and out of LAW. The notoriety and the attention that came with finding her name near the top of the card came with both pros and cons. The neverending autograph signings, the endorsements, sponsorships, merch, interviews, and private locker room were perks that any wrestler trying to make a name for themselves at LAW wanted. And with her reputation skyrocketing as it was, with rumors and murmurs of Aurora being a contender for the lightweight championship on top of her status as a tag team champion alongside Katherine Hart and Tracy Canon, the target on her back as well as the backs of her teammates only grew bigger and bigger alongside their legacy.

Aurora was all too aware of this. When management had approached her telling her that Piper specifically wanted this match, that she asked for Aurora to be her opponent, it came as no surprise. Estrella knew that Sherwood would be looking to either propel herself to the top of the lightweight division, or prove to herself that she genuinely was improving as a wrestler, or both. When Aurora was asked the match days prior, she responded succinctly with a smile on her face.

"Please tell Piper that I hope we have an amazing match together."

This was the second time a lightweight sought out Aurora as an opponent since she became a tag team champion. Meaning it was the second time that Aurora could risk losing her momentum and status as a top cat in the lightweight division. And it likely wouldn't be the last....

Moments after Piper took her place in her corner, Aurora's own theme song would begin to play on the stadium speakers. Purple and blue pyro would fire off as the luminescent luchadora dashed through the curtain, championship belt in hand! Cheers would fill the arena and Aurora would wave to the audience enthusiastically. Aurora kept her cool. She knew that her status as a big name, and her smarts and athletic ability made her the favorite to win this match. The ubiquitous cheers were a big indicator. But she also knew that Piper and every girl like her that challenged her to look for a big break of their own would wrestle her around the world and back to take that momentum away from The Galaxy Cat!

As Aurora made her way down to the ring, she'd high five fans and the announcer would introduce her as she made her way through the ropes and into the ring.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this contest is scheduled for one fall! Making her way to the ring, weighing in at 107lbs- She is currently undefeated in both singles and tag team competition. She is a member of the SWAT Cats and one of the inaugural LAW World Tag Team Champions! She is the GALAXY CAT! AUUUROOOOOOOORA ESSSSSTREEEEEELLLLLAAAAAAA!"

Aurora would scale the ropes and pose with her hands on her hips and her title belt fastened around her waist. She'd do a corkscrew flip of her own to descend from the middle turnbuckle and land near the center of the ring, bringing her hands straight up afterward to show that she stuck the landing. As more cheers rained down, Aurora would unfasten the belt and hand it to the referee. She'd give Piper a reassuring nod.

"Don't go easy on me, okay?" Estrella would say to Sherwood with a wink, from a few steps away. Her afro puff and translucent skirt both still swaying from the turbulence of the aerial she pulled off just now.

Piper stretched readily in her corner, a look of absolute focus on her face as she glared at the entrance, as if she was trying to burn a whole straught through to her opponet. Thankfully soon the third of the tag team champions would appear. Without her partners at her side the belt around Aurora’s waist added more than enough weight behind the girl’s apperance.

A win over a this woman, a champion in any way shape or form would be all the credibility Piper would need. It would allow her to transcend her status as jobber once and for all. Cracking her neck as the girl made a showy entrance in her own right Piper admitted one thing to heself.

Aurora was damn cute. From what she had heard the girl was a bit of a nerd. And by a bit she heard she was a giant nerd similar to the girls she’d make fun of back in highschool. But here she was proving she had some impressive athletic ability, more than enough to impress Piper who knew ber stuff in regards to gymnastics being a former cheer leader. Plus that pretty cosmic outfit and cute poofball really accentuated her lithe and toned dark skinned body...

‘No! You gotta kick her ass! To prove yourself!’ She thought to herself as she glared up at Aurora and her attempt at pre match niceness. ”Like I’d go easy on you champ.” She sneered out with a glare on her face, clearly in the mood to fight, not make nice, regardless of how attractive she found the girl to be. Rolling her shoudlers she bounced foot to foot in preperation for the bell to ring. Looking ready to take her opponet the moment the bell rang.

Piper had all the spunk and fire about her that Aurora and the fans expected of a hungry, scrappy challenger. On the outside, Sherwood presented herself as just that. Aurora was wholly unaware of any internal struggle or battle that Piper was working through. She wasn't aware that the blonde was fighting through her own attraction to try and hammer her way through The Galaxy Cat and push herself towards LAW stardom!

"Indubitably." Estrella answered Piper back in a slightly worried tone. One way or another, Aurora could already tell that tonight would be a trial for her. And it would be her job to make sure that could make sure could make it a trial for Sherwood as well!

Aurora stepped back into her corner and gripped the middle ropes to left and to her right. She leaned forwards and observed her opponent bounce from side to side. She saw Piper roll her shoulders. Piper seemed ready. And Aurora was too! At the sound of the bell, the little luchadora emerged from her corner! Aurora would circle the ring and attempt to lock up with Piper! When presented with the opportunity, she'd try to seize Sherwood's wrist with both hands and turn it to apply a simple Wristlock! Despite not knowing what Piper's motivations were, she at least knew what the upstart rookie was fighting for.

"I know you're not here tonight to make a friend, but perhaps we'll bond over the spirit of competition by end of this match." Estrella would suggest as she attempted to apply pressure!

She got the distinct feeling that Piper was the physically stronger wrestler and that she'd have to rely on her technique to overcome Piper's brawn and brawling ability. Aurora would continue to try and size this woman up as the contest continued!

Piper continued to glare heatedly at Aurora while bouncing and psyching herself up for the match, if anyone didn’t know better, some may say Piper had a vendetta against the tag champion. But that wasn’t the case. Piper’s glare was fueled entirely by determination and grit and furt at her past record which she was determined to destroy. Aurora was just a stepping stone to her.

As the bell rang, starting the match officially Piper was quick to come out of her corner, arms up and ready to engagw with the masked wrestler. Immediatey they clashed in middle of the ring, hands locked around one another in a tight collar elbow lockup. However it wouldn’t be long before Aurora abandoned the lock up and seized Piper’s hand turning it into a wristlock!

”Ugn!” The blonde hissed out in response to the sudden change, forced to keep close pace with Aurora in order to reduce the pain on her wrist. As a result though she was also able to catch the champions words and responded by immediately snapping her gaze up to direct her intense emerald gaze into her opponet’s eyes.

“Yeahhh I’m sure we will..” Piper snarled out, her words oozing sarcasm as she did so before she suddenly sprung into action. Ducking down she turned, untwisting her hand from Aurora’s wristlock though she still had the girl’s grip on her hands to worry about. But rather than worry about prying them off Piper sought to make use of them. Pulling herself back for a moment Piper attempted to pull her caught arm back. If this bid was successful she would hopefully pull Aurora into a forearm smash to the face courtesy of Piper’s free arm!

The fans could feel it from their seats, but inside the ring, Aurora could feel the gravity of the atmosphere around Piper right now. Sherwood was tense. Estrella had wanted to believe that she had done nothing to earn the blonde's ire. She told herself over and over again that there was no history between them. Piper was probably like this with everyone: rough around the edges, likely nicer once you get to know her. But as Aurora took control of Young Lioness's wrist, as The Galaxy Cat worked diligently to secure the hold and maintain her leverage, Piper's demeanor and body language told Aurora that there was nothing but tension between them in this ring! When Piper locked eyes with Aurora, she stared daggers into the little luchadora's adorable heterochromatic eyes!

This expression and harsh sarcasm caught Aurora entirely off guard! And when she gave even a moment's hesitation, Piper was keen on capitalizing! Within seconds, Piper moved skillfully and quickly, undoing the twist Estrella had applied to her arm! The blonde brawler had something to prove! And she communicated that by pulling her arms back towards her person, pulling Aurora along with it! Estrella would find herself tugged a short distance, and in a similar fashion to a Short Arm Clothesline, she'd suffer a harsh Forearm Smash to the face! The impact would resonate with such volume that it could be heard from ringside!

"UNGH!" Aurora would cry out as she held the bridge of her small nose with both her gloved hands. The audience gasped in concern as Aurora's head was whipped back! The masked cutie would stagger back a few steps before falling onto her bum! She'd exhale audibly in pain for a second before slowly working her way up to her feet.

With a renewed focus and a pained expression on her face, Aurora would rise. She'd check her palm to confirm that she hadn't bled, thankfully, and then she'd look up at Piper, meeting the belligerent bunny girl's mean streak and harsh look with an annoyed facial expression of her own!

"sigh.....You do realize that you could have just said you 'no', right?"

Piper was on the lookout to increase her prestige at Aurora’s expense, to prove to everyone watching right now that she was no linger a jobber! That she was a future champion worthy of praise! Unfortunately Aurora had caught Piper off guard with a wrist lock making her wince softly, but in spite of it the blonde heel had managed to find a way counter with a rather vicious ripcord clothesline.

Watching with a smug smirk as Estrella was knocked literally to her ass Piper flipped her hair back contemptively. ”Yeah but that was a lot more fun.” She said responding back to Aurora’s words with a sarcastic reply of her own. ‘Gotta admit… she’s pretty cute with that pout though…’ Piper thought to herself for a moment before shaking her head to free herself from those distracting thoughts.

Watching as Aurora got to to her feet Piper knew that the galaxy cat would have a bone to pick with the blonde now. Likewise she’d probably be on the lookout for more counters from Piper. So she’d have to play smarter than Aurora, not harder.

Waiting until the masked wrestler was on her feet Piper would then choose to act. Bursting forward at full speed she raised an arm up in the air as if she was going to try and clothesline the girl. However as she neared Piper would pull her arm in and duck low, hopefully to throw Aurora off and avoid whatever the girl would try to do to counter her aupposed clothesline.

Than if successful Piper would, rather than continuing forward like most people would in this scenario to rebound off the ropes, Piper would instead brake and srop herself right as she passed Aurora. Than she would put her flexibility and gymnastic skills to good use, jumping up and pulling her legs in to perform a back flip, and as she’d come down she would extend her legs out to hopefully catch Aurora in the back with a innovative standing backflip dropkick!

Aurora was renowned by her partner, the fellow tag team champions for her smarts both in and out of the ring. But even the brainy lightweight luchadora couldn't get a read on Piper right now. There were certainly some tough customers at LAW across all weight divisions. But the way Piper struck her without remorse, the way Piper's body language- her sarcasm and sneering came across to Aurora. They all seemed to give Estrella the feeling that Piper wanted something more from her than just her victory streak!

"?!?" The Galaxy Cat's expression quickly changed from pouting to a look of surprise when Sherwood began to charge! Piper darted forward with surprising speed! Aurora put her gloved dukes up to try and guard whatever was coming. She couldn't tell that Piper was throwing a feint. And if the beginning of this match was anything to go by, The Chromatic Cat would be in bad shape quickly if she kept eating those strikes! When Piper ducked and got low, Aurora would jump up and split, Leapfrogging over her opponent!

"I see you!" Estrella called out as she witnessed Piper continue running past her! Aurora wasn't confident when it came to striking it out with Piper, but speed was a different story! She showed no hesitation when it came to chasing her foe! With her technical ability and her resourcefulness, Aurora was confident she could match Piper here! Her eyes widened as she saw the girl come to a complete stop and jump up! Rather than brake and come to a complete stop like Piper did, Aurora chose to drop down! She slid on her kneepad and sides as Piper skillfully backflipped from a standing position and fired off an impressive and innovative Backflip Dropkick! The move wowed the crowd! And as luck would have it, when Piper was parallel to the ground, Aurora got the chance to look up and make eye contact with her, winking at Sherwood in the process as she narrowly avoided the strike!

Aurora continued sliding and popped up in time to make contact with the bottom rope! The luchadora's hair and skirt would flutter in the breeze as her back met the rope and she made a return trip back to Sherwood! She would look to take to the skies like Piper did as she ran towards her full-tilt with the intention of setting up a Flying Headscissor into a Tilt-A-Whirl DDT!

"How's this for your idea for fun?!"

As she leapt bakcwards, pulling her legs back in preperation for her next inconing move Piper idly heard the loud pop of excitement from the crowd bringing a smile to her face. A brief interval of pure joy as she finally was getting the approval and praise from the crowd. All as a result of her talents finally being htilized effectively. Now all she needed was to hit..

”Wha?”

Before her mind could continue its thought process she saw the girl she was aiming to hit slide beneath her in her own acrobatic evasion. But for a brief, soul tugging moment their eyes made contact with eachother and suddenly a single moment felt much longer. Looking into those heterochromatic orbs Piper couldn’t help the shiver that went down her spine before blushing from Aurora’s wink which ended the long moment.

Managing to land on her feet Piper nearly stumbled but managed to stay on her feet, giving her opponet enough to build up momentum! Looking up Piper’s eyes widened as the luchadora went flying, her shapely legs wrapping around the blonde’s head with a tight headscissor!

“Mmmmfff!” Piper yelled out as she was spun around by the dark skinned girl’s weight and momentum, her hands instinctively going to her hips. Eventually however Aurora’s weight shifted and she felt her arm around her head. As they descended Piper had a good idea of what was being tried and she instinctively tucked herself in a bit and put her arms in front her.

When they landed Piper grunted in pain from the impact, however by tucking berself in and using her arms to absorb some of the impact she lessened the damage to herself. Taking advantage of the brief interval where Aurora would release her Piper would use tbe momentum to roll forward a bit, timbling away from Aurora and landing near the ropes holding her head.

Wincing a bit following that she glared back over at Aurora. “Reminds me of you’re partners. Lame and corny as hell.” Piper shor back in response to Aurora’s words, trying to rile up Aurora and get her to rush the blonde so she could counter.

Aurora intended to keep pace with Piper, matching her move for move in the hopes of outdoing Sherwood's technique! The Chromatic Cat skillfully avoided the backflip kick and built up speed before confounding her blonde foe with a dynamic Tilt-A-Whirl DDT! The audience practically for on their feet to cheer Estrella as she rallied to take it to Piper! But it very quickly became apparent that striking wasn't Piper's only forte! Aurora's eyes widened as the girl braced with her arms and tucked her head! It was then that it dawned on the masked lightweight: no matter what the record books or the fans said, Piper was quite skilled! Skilled and eager to destroy the tag team champion!

After landing, Aurora quickly spun around and pushed herself up to a kneeling position! She spotted Sherwood near the ropes and locked eyes with her! Where Aurora's facial expression exuded confidence and enjoyment from the match, while she actively tried to conceal any worry or concern over why Piper's animosity and grudge towards her were coming from, Piper's gaze was anything but welcoming! The former cheerleader glared back at Estrella with contempt in her eyes! She answered Aurora's small lead in momentum by hitting her with a verbal blow to compliment the physical one she dealt Aurora earlier!

The Galaxy Cat's brow would furrow. She'd grit her teeth! It was rather uncharacteristic to see Aurora visibly upset! After a short moment, she'd exhale deeply and regain her composure.

"You're allowed to hate me as much as you'd like. I still don't understand why you persist in wanting to crush me, but I can at least fathom why you might want that...." Aurora would begin walking towards Piper. She would ball her fists. Aurora's body language was proof enough that she was walking with purpose!

"But I insist you refrain from talking about my partners like that!!!" Aurora would roar as she looked to seize Piper by the head and apply a Side Headlock! If she managed to force the side of the blonde-haired battler's face into her modest chest Aurora would attempt to run her to the corner and scale to turnbuckles before kicking off the top one to generate some momentum and attempt to chastise her foe with a Springboard Bulldog into a Cover for a pin!

As the brain of The SWAT Cats, Aurora knew better than to rush at Piper. But she couldn't take the trash talk sitting down! She'd forego future opportunities to feel her opponent out and get a sense of Piper's talents! Piper wanted to bring out the worst in her, and right now at least, Aurora was eager to give it to her if it meant defending the honor of the team she considered family!
