GASTER vs Chloe Valentine - Do hugs work against Shadows?

Unread post by Vc0m »

Day after day passed before the fated date of February 1st, and Clara woke up in cold sweat. She practically stopped oversleeping, a rarity for the Brit, as her fated battle at We Are LAW 2's main event stage slowly approached.

The time to train was getting scarcer and scarcer...as did the amount of episodes of LAW to go before her title match. And she wanted to partake in as many matches as she could before her PPV match for maximum experience. Considering how long it was since she fought Aoi, she didn't know what new tricks she might bring to the table...

...so rather, the Shadow Lord decided to ask the LAW office for as many diverse opponents as possible. That way, she'd be ready for whatever the blunette would throw at her.

Tonight she had a match against a relatively new addition to LAW roster in Chloe Valentine.

"O-oh...Queen of Hug Style? Selfie Maniac...hmmmmm", the Brit would read the girl's nicknames, already forming a plan in her head for the promo...and wondering where those nicknames came from...Queen of Hug Style in particular...

A couple of days later was the day of her match. She wore her usual attire - yellow top boots and knee pads...and grey leggings. She thought once more towards We Are LAW, planning to debut a completely fresh attire at the event...

...she froze.

Random thoughts flew in and out of her head. Her heart was viciously pounding, and she felt every beat. Her head felt like it was on fire, and she was sweating bullets.

"What you did over the year wasn't enough. You are gonna lose. Badly. She'll wipe the floor with you, take the belt, and laugh in your face about it. You will not be champion. Stop it now before it gets an----"

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Ms Gaster? Are you in there?"

She snapped out of it.

"U-um...y-yes!"

"5 minutes to your entrance"

She shook her head. Her heart was still out of control, but she had to find a way to calm herself during the match...perhaps that would be a good anti-depressant in and of itself. She put on her yellow hoodie and mask and went for gorilla position

Darkness would fall onto the ring, as a dark but whimsical theme tune played around the LAW arena to the cheers from the crowd. A sillouhette would appear in the fog, as slowly, GASTER's frame appeared from behind the fog to her mad: "Mwahahahahaha!", laughter.

The Shadow Lord would start walking towards the ring...and would peek at the crowds from time to time. The signs reminded her of what was coming. There was a sign supporting Aoi for Lightweight title...and one supporting herself...she wouldn't look too far into the crowd to not break character...and it was quite possible there were a lot more signs out there...

GASTER rolled into the arena, and, with a quick pose off on the turnbuckle, her music would die down as she requested the mic from the ref:

"Today I am challenged by the Hugstyle Queen...who considers herself a maniac of selfies...well, hugs would not melt my sould, for I don't have one! And one cannot create selfies with magic when in darkness! My victory is guaranteed! Mwhahahahahaha!!!"

She would take off her hoodie, and give the mic back to the ref, as she started doing stretches in her corner, waiting for Chloe to arrive...

Chloe kept losing. Just when she thought she was getting better, when she thought she was getting closer to a victory. Maybe wrestling just wasnt for her. She knew she couldnt fight these thoughts about quitting forever. However, no matter how badly she lost or how weak she felt... the crowd never stopped supporting her. With or without a belt around her waist, they were developing genuine fondness for the young girl, and even if she kept losing, the performance she put before ultimately falling to an opponent made it worth following her career.

She didnt hear the production guy telling her to get ready. Chloe completely missed the promo her opponent cut when she entered, and was only brought back to the real world by the distant sound of her own music. "Oh shit!" She stumbled off the bench and pulled the straps of her bodysuit all the way up, making sure everything is nicely... contained while on the way.

"Heeeeeeey all!" She exclaimed at the top of the ramp. The crowd once more welcomed her like the queen she was, even if it was just a nickname. She took her time to go down the ramp, spending some time building memories with the closest fans - selfies, hugs, etc. You know, the polar opposite of what her opponent usually did.

Climbing in the ring, the selfie maniac deliver an uncharacteristic greeting. "Hoii!" It was a little intrincate joke that worked better in her mind - the hoii greeting was from an animal from a videogame where she had heard that name - Gaster. So it felt appropriate! "It's nice to meet you, Shadow Lord!" She knew GASTER beforehand. It was hard to miss the televised matches of the lightweight tournament, and the girl with the mask was definitely an interesting one. "Wait... shouldnt it be Shadow Lady?" She tapped her chin with one finger. "Am I being catfished?" Her train of thought was already a wreck.

As Chloe entered, she greeted the crowd, and the crowd greeted her back. The Shadow Lord enjoyed watching how Chloe made her way down the crowd, greeting her fans, hugging them, selfiing them (well...here was why she was called that, she believed). She did enjoy seeing other people connect with people like that, interacting with their fanbase, creating memories with members of the crowd...

...this got her mind back to We Are LAW for a split second, right up until Chloe rolled into the ring, giving the Shadow Lord a positive "hoi" in reference to her nickname and surname.

In addition, while Clara saw Chloe from pictures on the site, seeing the girl live in front of her made her realize how cute and adorable the lady she was fighting was...

She gave a polite bow to Chloe for her polite greeting...before Selfie Maniac's train of thought got quite ways off of where it was supposed to be:

"Well...who knows! I might've put you under my spell to confuse you, Queen of Hug Style! Mwahahahahahaha!", she would play off of her opponent's words, as ref checked both ladies for if they were ready for the match to begin...
