Hikaru vs. Emilia: Climbing The Ladder

Hikaru Sawazaki had been on a decent stretch as of late, winning matches a bit more than she lost them. That was an improvement from a year ago when she seemed to lose every time she stepped into the ring.

Tonight she was facing a struggling wrestler who was eager to snap out of a slump. While Hikaru was sympathetic to her she also needed to be a professional, vowing to do all she could to win.

As her music played the young Japanese woman came out and waved to the crowd as she walked down the ramp to the ring. She would walk up the ring steps then climb through the ropes eagerly awaiting Emilia.

Emelia waited backstage, her heart fluttering with nerves as she readied herself to enter the ring once more, for the first time in a while. Her short hiatus had followed a run of crushing defeats, leaving her floundering as a glorified jobber at the bottom of the LAW pile. After some extra training an examination of her defeats, however, she had finally worked up the confidence to return to the ring, taking on a wrestler who'd had her own struggles in the ring.

While Hikaru seemed to be on a decent run of form, Emelia told herself she had a good chance to take her maiden win in LAW right here! Clad in a new wrestling outfit with a deep green top and briefs, long fingerless orange gloves and orange trainers, she felt better than she had in a while.

Appearance

Her music Electroheart thumped from the speakers and Emelia's chest swelled as she darted out into the lights. Cheers washed over her as the LAW fans welcomed her despite her fairly dismal pedigree in the league so far. The young Scandinavian beauty smiled and waved as she made her way down to the ramp, sliding under the bottom ropes to face her opponent.

"Good luck," Emelia said, keeping her demeanour professional as she extended her hand to her opponent. "Let's put on a good show!"

Hikaru smiled as Emilia extended her hand for a hand shake. Hikaru shook it and nodded to Emilia. "Good luck to you too Emilia, I look forward to the match!" Hikaru said, very happy to be facing someone who seemed humble, and who also seemed like she wouldn't use any sort of dirty tactics or foul play. As the bell rang Hikaru circled Emilia before moving in to grapple with her! Hikaru was trying to maneuver Emilia around a bit and if she could get in position she would try to hook her arm underneath Emilia's before sending her to the mat with a hip toss.

Emelia allowed herself a small sense of relief as she shook hands with her opponent, both wrestlers showing respect to the other as they prepared for what was sure to be a tough match.

The bell rang and the young Norwegian lowered into her wrestling stance, trying to bring to mind the practice in footwork she'd received not so long ago. Her opponent circled, forcing her to move and match her to try and keep Hikaru in view. Her opponent then lunged forward into a grapple.

Emelia met Hikaru in the grip, straining to exert some pressure on her foe, but before she could gain much purchase, Hikaru suddenly hooked one of her arms and sent the Scandinavian beauty tumbling to the mats with a hip toss!

"Unnghh!" Emelia blurted in surprise as she hit the floor, trying to roll with the impact and scramble back to her feet before Hikaru could take advantage of her early aggression!

Hikaru managed to send Emilia down to the mat hats and wanted to try to follow up. She gave chase, trying to reach out and grab Emilia by the arm.

Hikaru was aiming to whip Emilia towards the ropes running after her once she bounced off as she attempted to jump up in the air and plant Emilia in the chest with a running dropkick!

Emelia scrambled upright after the initial throw, only to find Hikaru was upon her again, swiftly grabbing the Scandinavian and wrenching her into an Irish whip. She went bouncing off the ropes, the force propelling her back at her opponent, straight into the waiting impact of Hikaru's dropkick!

"AUUGHH!" Emelia wailed as her opponent's feet slammed into her chest, knocking the wind from her and sending her crashing to the canvas clutching at her bust in pain. This time her rise was much slower, dragging herself to her knees and trying to shuffle away from Hikaru before things could get out of control for the struggling Norwegian wrestler!

Hikaru had landed a solid strike and wanted to keep rolling. She grabbed hold of Emilia to grapple with her, shifting and moving before adjusting her hold. She had Emilia by the arm and spun, lifting with her torso to send Emilia down to the mat with a hip toss! Hikaru showed some technical skill by keeping hold and transitioning to a seated position as she moved with the falling Emilia, locking in a side headlock as Emilia was laying on her back on the canvas! "I am similar to you Emilia. We both have much to prove!" Hikaru said.

The flurry of attacks kept coming, leaving Emelia reeling from the onslaught. The dropkick left her open and vulnerable, and sure enough, her supposedly struggling foe took full advantage. One minute they were in a fresh grapple and the next she was thrown to the mats with a hip toss, not able to catch her breath and gain her footing in this match yet.

"Gnnghh!" Emelia blurted as Hikaru quickly trapped the Scandinavian into a side headlock down on the canvas. Her legs kicked wildly as she struggled. "Well ... I'm ... going to prove it ... now!" she gasped, attempting to slam an elbow into Hikaru's side to try and dislodge the other woman's grip on her.

The elbow caught Hikaru totally by surprise! "OOMPH!" Hikaru groaned as she let go, rolling away while clutching her side in pain. The strike really knocked the wind out of Hikaru and left her stunned, opening the way for Emilia to make her presence felt.

Emelia felt her elbow thud into Hikaru's stomach and heard the other woman's exclamation as she was caught by surprise. Sure enough, the lock around Emelia's head disappeared as her opponent rolled away, winded.

Panting for breath, the young Scandinavian knew she had to make good on this opportunity. Pouncing, she dragged Hikaru to her feet to face her, before bending the other wrestler forward, trying to trap her in a headlock. If she succeeded, she would grab a handful of Hikaru's one-piece at the waist and attempt to heave her head over heels for a suplex!
