Sho Kitamura was born in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto, Japan and all he knew from his young age was the world of professional wrestling. His family was never a wrestling family or anything like that. It was just that his family just seemed to love wrestling. His father was a shoemaker and his mother a journalist. Despite the busy jobs and low-income, the family would always come around to watch the latest wrestling shows at night. Some of Sho’s most valued memories were behind the screen listening to the crowd and his family roar with excitement at the sight of these giants or lithe gods fly and throw themselves or others across the ring. It would take no scientist to understand that Sho wanted to be like those wrestlers on the TV.
Unfortunately, it seemed as though the world itself had told him no. He was told he was “too short”. Too “hard to train”. However, it never seemed to stop SHo. Whether it was the teachers or his friends, Sho’s dream was something that didn’t seem to dim even with age. And though his parents wanted him to do well, they implored him to be realistic: There was no way Sho Kitamura was ever going to be a star. Despite all this pushback, Sho’s resolve seemed to never waver and so they gave him an ultimatum: Finish College, then after you are done, let see if you are still deadset on wrestling.
And Sho did it. His undergraduate diploma in hand and despite that, Sho’s mind was made up. He was going to become a professional wrestler!
