Triin Liiv vs Maya the Mistress - Ropes, Heroines & Queens

Unread post by Jaystar »

Triin Liiv "The Baltic Knightess" vs Kat Evans "Maya the Mistress"
POW Match
Victory via accepted submission after tying up your opponent
Ring is equipped with lengthy ropes at each corner
Winner gets to take the loser as their prisoner for the night
No disqualifications

Triin Liiv wasn't sure what to think.

On the other hand, she should have been excited right now. Very excited. She was finally about to have her third match in LAW, and everything that she had learnt of her match so far sounded pretty cool and awesome! Well, on paper at least... This wasn't going to be just another, boring standard match. No, this one was going to have some intriguing stipulations in place... Ones that suited her gimmick as a knightess and a heroine excellently. The ring having ropes available, and the requirement to actually capture your opponent and taking them as your prisoner? That should have been right up her alley! Exactly what a valiant heroine should have done, a perfect opportunity for the Baltic Knightess to shine...

On the other hand though... Triin's first two matches hadn't been exactly stellar. Her debut match had seen her being set up in a handicap match against some of LAW's most established villains... As if the management had seen her as a rookie heroine, simply being fodder to feed them. And that was basically what she had ended up being... And while her second match had been against a debuting wrestler, Kazuko Ito had quickly turned out to be way too brutal and strong for Triin to handle. So the signs weren't great... And against that background, a match of this type and this kind of stipulations... Triin couldn't help but wonder if it was simply a great setup by the management for some more heroine peril.

Besides, apparently she was called the Mistress. Pretty ominous.

Triin Liiv - The Baltic Knightess
Image
Entrance Theme: Muse - Knights of Cydonia

There was only one way to find out the answer to her questions though, and in the end, every fighter always had their own fate in their own hands - when the match began, at least. There should have been no reason to be afraid or believe that she wouldn't be the one capturing her enemy tonight. Thus, Triin marched down the ramp with as confident and determined expression as she could, her stern steps and gaze towards the ring showing very little emotion. Carrying her (mock) sword with her, the heroine's hips subtly swayed with each step she took. Not one to really engage with the crowds that much, many of them still appeared to react quite positively to seeing her appearance - even if very few seemed to voice out any outright declarations of support. It was as if most of them were already eagerly awaiting to see who would the knightess be facing in the ring tonight...

Climbing agilely up the nearest corner, Triin proceeded to show off some flashy moves with her swords before jumping down into the ring. Strutting around for a moment, the knightess then calmly proceeded to a corner to examine the rope provided there more closely, before proceeding to the next one to do the same. Her round then reached the third and fourth corner as well, with the blonde heroine seemingly checking the quality of the rope at each corner, looking probably like she was getting preoccupied with making plans on how to utilize them in the best way possible.

Maya’s debut match had managed to stir the pot, just the result the Mistress wanted. She had been hoping for a powerful display of her ruthlessness and having a babyface that was also the heir to a wrestling dinasty as first rival was a true treat for her. Now everyone in the league who had seen that match knew that facing Maya was setting oneself up for a pretty tough beating and humiliation. The show she made from the Neo-phoenix’s destruction surely attracted enough attention to grant her a new match, this time against a very different kind of rival and with way different winning conditions. Triin Liiv was a true character inside the ring, playing a virtuous knightess with the full regalia and even a mock sword. Of course she also meant to appeal to the chivalry code with her pose, so in some way Maya could see her as some virtuous hero to tame. That made the bluenette lick her lips in anticipation as she got ready in the locker room. Yes, she was climbing the ladder.

Finally backstage, Maya’s theme started echoing and she made her appearance. The crowd had been pretty supportive with Triin and that was to be expected given her status in the narrative as a hero. Villains, on the other side, still had their share of fans, but the crowd tended to side with the goody-two-shoes wrestlers. However, it wasn’t as if Maya was getting booed or jeered, the crowd was just silent in tension while some of them directly cheered for the Mistress.

Upon her arrival inside the ring, Maya made her final walk towards the center of the ring, from where she would look at each corner where ropes were set to tie the rival as a mark of victory and ownership. Then Maya looked at Triin, gazing on her attire and her fake sword before drawing a confident smile that hinted an air of threat looming just behind it before going to her corner without saluting to her rival in wait for the match to officially start.

Triin stayed stoically still while she watched her opponent making her way down the ramp towards the ring. Usually the knightess wasn't one to pay that much attention to the reactions of the crowds, drawing neither special amounts of support nor hate from them herself, but she did note that they stayed markedly quiet during her foe's entrance. Like, they didn't really know how to react. She didn't seem to be hated, but not actually cheered on either, even as much as Triin had been herself, apart from a few markedly loud voices in the audience who clearly were anticipating to see the blonde heroine in trouble. What did it mean? Were they afraid?

Once Maya arrived in the ring, the blonde Estonian finally got a better chance to take a look and assess the blue-haired woman's appearance and physique. She could clearly tell that "the Mistress" had a villainous air around her, her hair color giving off somewhat "poisonous vibes", and her attire, body and physique did manage to look overall like a pretty dominant package. The blonde girl knew however that looks could often be deceiving, and when Triin looked at her stature more objectively, she could tell that both of them were actually pretty equal in size, even if Maya might had been slightly taller, or equipped with a thicker body. Still, the Mistress was clearly nothing that she couldn't overcome, right?

Triin did make note that Maya was careful to check the ropes by each corner, even if it was only with her pair of eyes. Apparently, she needed no familiarization with how they'd feel in her hands... Then the villainess clearly took a good look at the heroine, flashing a rather evil and confident smile as a conclusion... And Triin couldn't deny that the blue-haired woman was really managing to get her a bit nervous by doing so. She surely was high on confidence at least...

The Estonian had just started taking steps towards the center of the ring, when Maya just turned around and proceeded to her corner. Thus, Triin promptly turned on her heels and returned to lay her mock sword by her corner, recognizing that weapons were officially not allowed to be used tonight... Even if there were no disqualifications. Still, a valiant heroine always battled by the rules! Wanting to give out a confident appearance of her own, the blonde woman then proceeded again to settle herself in the center of the ring, waiting for the bell to ring... Curious to see if Maya was going to come meet her in the middle.

If she would, Triin was preparing herself to start off with a stiff knife edge chop to slightly above her chest, quickly after the bell would have rung!

Re: Triin Liiv vs Maya the Mistress - Ropes, Heroines & Queens

Maya licked her lips in anticipation of what was going to come. For her first rival she had some sweet looking rookie, and destroying Celina felt great, but now the bluenette was climbing the ladder of a villain of the ring and was facing a true hero. Who more heroic than a knight of the ring for her to break? In some way she had to be thankful to Triin for being that kind of wrestler, for fitting that goody-two-shoes and valerous spot she just needed to destroy to keep making a reputation for herself. Seeing how Triin was stoically trying to ignore her threatening aura while noticing it was delightful, and the bluenette couldn’t wait to get her hands on her rival. Eager to start the match, Maya joined Triin as the knightess looked like she was trying to compose herself.

The bell rang and that signalled the official start to the match. Maya expected Triin to pose a bigger threat than her first rival, but in the end the Mistress was still confident in her own skills to take the lead here. She was curious, wanting to see what that chivalrous one was about in a ring, how she would fight her. Her first move was a pretty orthodox one, a darting knife edge chop that flew towards Maya just instants after the bell rang, showing Triin’s reflexes. The pain stung when the chop impacted on Maya’s body, but she wasn’t going to reel back in pain just with that. “That’s that?”, she said in a cold tone, taunting her rival while trying to play with her mind. Maya decided to go and quickly retaliate in the same way, throwing a chop of her own to show the knightess how things were done!

Re: Triin Liiv vs Maya the Mistress - Ropes, Heroines & Queens

The key to understanding the logic of Triin's actions here was to recognize her will to display a stoic and confident appearance. While her results in LAW hadn't been stellar so far, it was crucial to give out an image, that none of that actually mattered. None of that could waver her determination to succeed, and become the triumphant heroine against the various villains on LAW's ranks. Thus, being the first one to take her place in the center on the ring, and the first one to launch her attack, were of key importance for the knightess to start off the match with.

Of course, there was a strategic aspect to it as well. Trying to gain the upper hand and the control over the flow of the match right from the beginning were going to be integral to success, and Triin wasn't going to let her opponent steal those from her - at least if you asked the knightess. Not that her opponent would have seemed very intimidated with any of that though... She was eager to join her heroic adversary in the middle of the ring too, letting the audience get a good comparison of the bodies of the battling duo. Their roles were very evident on their attires... And while they seemed to be relatively comparable in size, the heroine did look like being more inclinced to leverage her agility and skills, while Maya's form appeared a markedly meatier one.

Wasting no time after the bell had rung, Triin delivered the chop swiftly to Maya's skin. It was really just to get an opening feel of her opponent... Who didn't seem all that impressed. Not that Triin would have expected her to... But what the bluenette then countered with was rather expected, delivering a chop of her own to the heroine's chest! It did sting, quite a bit in fact, telling that her foe certainly was no weakling... But even that was expected. So far, with this little sample given, the villain's words were still far from getting into Triin's head.

"Yes, that was all I've got..." the blonde simply replied to Maya in a rather sarcastic tone, wanting to signal that her head wasn't that easy to mess with. But the sarcasm was real, as she already had a plan on how to continue on the offensive... Once more taking a step or two closer to the villainess, the knightess then tried to launch a swift knee strike to Maya's midsection, before taking a couple of steps back to review its effects! But her plan didn't end there... Anticipating that the villainess might be more inclined to respond yet again with another knee strike of her own, the heroine was getting ready to swiftly dodge one, and launch a Roundhouse Kick towards the bluenette's head instead!

Re: Triin Liiv vs Maya the Mistress - Ropes, Heroines & Queens

Unread post by Galahad »

Right from the very beginning of the match the two contestants have been involved in a multi-layered kind of contest. Of course the match, the competition and the moves it involved was the most obvious, but below that there was a battle of wills. Each wrestler was trying to use mind games to probe her rival in Triin’s case and to mess with Triin’s in Maya’s case. The two of them had quite a reputation and an image to maintain and in order to do so they couldn’t just rush into a fight no matter its outcome. There were certain rituals, certain manners to be respected. Defeating Triin would mean nothing for Maya’s career if the Mistress didn’t pay attention to how she looked while doing so, and the knightess was in a similar situation.

Just after measuring each other with some knife edge chops it was Triin the first one to speak, reacting in a sarcastic way that showed how the baltic one could stand tall and proud in the face of Maya’s villainy. Just after that she would throw a knee that hit against Maya’s stomach and made the bluenette bend in pain while she coughed when all air suddenly and unexpectedly escaped her body. Trying her best to look composed and unfazed by the hit it was her time to retaliate. “Not bad. Let me show you how it’s done!” As she was charging forwards to again mirror Triin’s move against her, the knightess swiftly dodged to one side, which caught Maya completely off guard so the Mistress couldn’t notice the roundhouse kick aimed at her head!

At first Maya just took the hit to the side of the head and for some instants it looked like she was just going to powerhouse through the strike, but just when her body weight shifted a little so she could start a charge forwards her body lunged and Maya had to take a knee in order to avoid soundly falling flat on the mat, cupping her pained head as she tried to recover from the sudden dizzyness she was experiencing.

Triin could surely tell that she wasn't going to want to get too many tastes of Maya's chops, even if she managed to remain rather stoic after the opening one. The key to achieving that was going to stay one step ahead of her opponent at all times... And to manage just that, the Baltic Knightess wasn't going to waste time after her words, before launching her knee to Maya's belly! The blonde became quite satisfied indeed with how big of an effect it did seem to have on the villainess, and made her feel pretty powerful as well...

The result was the Estonian being equipped with all the more confidence, once Maya tried to pay back her second chosen method of offense. And while she did already have a plan in place to avoid getting hit by it, the knightess had to admit feeling a tiny hint of guilt after the bluenette acknowledged that her move hadn't been bad. Of course, the villainess then still declared that she could do better than Triin had... So proving her wrong by agilely dodging the knee strike, and launching her own Roundhouse kick was certainly providing her with a satisfying feeling once again...

Especially satisfying was the part that Triin could feel the kick connecting properly, and loudly with the side of Maya's head. It felt so proficient, that the heroine was even a bit disappointed seeing Maya seemingly being able to still stay upright, even turning towards her foe once again... But in the end looks turned out to be deceiving, as the villainess in fact wasn't able to launch an attack of her own, falling down on her knee in front of the towering knightess!

Triin didn't have any reason to become any less relentless though. If anything, the heroine wanted to take advantage of this situation, while she had the chance to get in control... Spinning to the other direction this time, the knightess tried to direct her shin to connect swiftly with the side of Maya's head once more, hoping to get her to fall down sideways to the mat! And if that turned out to be a success, the blonde heroine wasn't about to leave it there... Instead, she would try to then jump up, and land with her other leg smacking across the bluenette's chest with a Leg Drop!

Re: Triin Liiv vs Maya the Mistress - Ropes, Heroines & Queens

Unread post by Galahad »

One thing was sure at that point: this match wasn’t going to be like Maya’s first. In her debut the Mistress didn’t find difficult to overpower the babyface she was facing, but that night things were pretty different. For starters, the Baltic Knightess was a pretty tougher rival, with a more solid athleticism and a bigger general sense of threat. To make it short: Triin wasn’t pulling any punches. She was a hero that wanted to look as heroic and defeat Maya as much as the bluenette wanted to look villanous and do the same to Triin. This took Maya by surprise at first, the rush of energy coming from the Knightess taking the worst of the Mistress as she was hit on the stomach and then the head, having to take a knee to try and recover from her sudden dizzyness.

That wasn’t the end of Maya’s ordeal, of course, since Triin wasn’t going to stop there. Instead she would use her momentum and Maya’s moment of weakness to capitalize. In a great show of agility the knightess would go for another roundhouse kick, this time to the other side of Maya’s head, which only made worse the dizzyness the bluenette was feeling. The impact of the kick was also strong enough to make the Mistress lose her footing stance and instantly going to the mat.

From there, Maya wasn’t feeling dandy. Everything was spinning and the sounds felt muffled in her disorientation, which made the next thing to happen at least a little more bearable. Triin took flight and landed with her legs against Maya’s chest in a legdrop move. It wasn’t as painful as Maya would have expected thanks to how focused she was on the black spots on the side of her vision, but the impact of the move was clear when after everything was done Maya tried moving her body and it felt terribly heavy. If she wanted to recover and start making a comeback she needed some seconds, but would Triin allow her to get that?

Things had started off well for the Baltic Knightess... Frankly, much better than she had even expected herself. Besides getting to pay back for the opening chop, Maya had been rendered to an evident underdog position, by being repeatedly forced to take the strikes of the agile heroine. The result was the blue-haired mistress downed on the mat after the Estonian's second kick, and forced to endure a pretty triumphant move by her opponent in the form of Triin's leg drop!

The heroine's problem though now was... This was as far as she had managed to envision her tactics inside her head. It all had gone so smoothly, that Triin found herself having run out of plan. Of course, the problem was only positive... But still requiring the blonde to think for a moment about what to do next. Obviously, she wanted to take advantage of her strong opening as well as she could. Her instincts were telling her to just snatch her legs around the downed bluenette's head... But mat grappling wasn't really something Triin would have been very keen on engaging in quite just yet. She still needed to soften the villainess up more first...

"Please, do." the knightess gave a sly and dry, delayed reply to Maya's previous words, while getting back up next to her downed opponent. She could see the bluenette attempting to move but still struggling, and decided to deliver a stomp on her lower back to discourage her from trying to get back up any time soon. Then, the knightess would crouch over to get a hold of Maya's right wrist, before then turning her back towards the nearest corner while starting to back up towards it, with the slender heroine attempting to pull and drag her foe's body along the mat towards the corner in her footsteps as well!

Re: Triin Liiv vs Maya the Mistress - Ropes, Heroines & Queens

Unread post by Galahad »

There was this delicate balance in the world of wrestling, one every wrestler who was decently competent at their job knew pretty well. It was a balance between the actual wrestling skills and the narrative behind the show. A fighter who was only capable of executing moves but couldn’t sell a juicy story wasn’t going to get far in that business. Well, Maya’s story was about a villainess of the ring, and those had an extra layer of difficulty to sell as she was experience at the moment: if the villain goes too far she would become hated by the crowds and would never have popularity. On the other hand, when a villain presents themselves as someone easily beaten by the heros the effect would be similar: the wrestler would become target of mockery, a shadow of what they wanted to be.

Right at the moment Maya was taking a powerful beating from her rival. That didn’t mean anything really bad per se since Triin was a hero and that was what’s expected from heroes, but the swift efficiency with which the knightess was getting rid of Maya made her look like a pushover, like an all bark and no bite villain and that heavily upset the bluenette. In order to stop that she needed to start making a statement in strength and make a comeback. Luckily for the Mistress it looked like Triin was still thinking about her next move, so Maya would focus on recovering from the back stomp she just got while she noticed the knightess dragging her back on her feet. Maya would bide her time, making herself look more dizzy and weakened than she truly was and wait until her rival would throw her next move to try and counter it in a flashy way.
