Emerging Darkness: Selket vs Black Severin

Unread post by Bare »

Standard Match: Winner to be declared by pinfall, submission or ko

Selket was not in the best of moods right now. Quite the contrary in fact she was rather furious. Apex marked another high profile loss for her since her first defeat at the hands of Astrid and it was driving her crazy with anger. Anger at Eileen, anger at Astrid, anger at LAW, anger at the fans, everyone.

Even if she was still seen as one of the upper echelon heavyweights it was clear she was rapidly losing face which was the last thing she needed if she wanted another heavyweight or even openweight title shot. Thus it needed to be rectified by winning a match. Any match she didn't care. As long as it allowed her to vent her rage while re establishing herself it didn't matter. As such she found herself matched against a man by the name of Black Severin. Really she didn't know very much about him nor did she care. All that mattered was that she beat him.
Spoiler
As her music started up the lights would go out, enshrouding the fans in darkness but at this point the LAW regulars had grown used to her antics and booed all the same despite the darkness. Regardless a golden spotlight would shine down from above, lighting Selket's form in her skin tight purple outfit, an alluring and dangerous sight.. Even more so thanks to the expression present on her face as she glared out over the darkened audience.
Spoiler
Image
Turning and sauntering forward with a sway to her hips Selket would barely acknowledge the hatred laced voices of the crowd as she climbed the steps before sliding between the ropes and into the ring fully. Doing a slow turn as the lights came back on Selket would approach her corner and lazily stretch while leaning against it, waiting calmly for her opponent to come down. But if you looked at her face you could tell that she was ready to strike like a cobra in waiting.

Just a few minutes prior...

Black Severin took a deep breath as he exited his locker room.
Spoiler

That was another thing that caught him by surprise here; he'd expected to have to work his way up to his own space, but no. Apparently, they allocate locker rooms on a show-by-show basis; he didn't dare ask lest the higher-ups realize they've made a mistake and stick him in a broom closet or something.

He gave his head a shake as he walked the halls. A vain attempt at getting the nerves out. They put him up against a Heavyweight tonight. Five inches taller, twenty-eight pounds heavier, and apparently ageless. Selket was one of LAW's best, which had him wondering if he was just considered a lamb to offer up for slaughter. Someone for her to beat on so she can get warmed up for another wrestler that normally occupies a higher spot on the card.

No. He was not going to be another one of those guys if he could help it.

Severin gave his head another shake and had to force his mind to go blank. Get it empty. Hell, keep it empty. Try not to focus too much on the fact that he was about to get in the ring with a main eventer -- shit!

Anxiety is a son of a bitch and a half. He was about halfway to the stage area when a beautiful blonde turned the corner he was approaching. The sight of her had put the brakes on. Her face was one that he thought he'd never see again in person.
Spoiler

"Bee!" For the moment, at least, that did the trick, putting a big smile on his. A wide-eyed Beatriz gasped, forgetting to take another breath for the next few seconds before she would respond..."T?" There was no denying that voice, but she still had to ask. "Yeah!"

Terrell continued to approach her with open arms, which she leapt into with an excited squeal, hugging him as tightly as he had her. "Dude! I..." No Pirate English whatsoever. She was dressed up and ready to wrestle, but right now, this was one hundred percent Beatriz Yvonne Murillo Gutierrez, a girl who had so much to say to the best friend she'd ever had. Questions to ask. An apology to give, and an explanation to follow. She didn't know where to start.

The blonde would decide to go with just enjoying the moment of silence that fell between them, being grateful that he'd give her such a warm welcome after the agonizingly awkward way she left three years ago.

"I didn't think I'd ever see you again."

"Me neither!" She was surprised. He sounded like he actually wanted to.

Beatriz would pull away first, coyly moving her arms behind her back. Things didn't go well the last time they hugged for so long. Funnily enough, while she worried about that, Terrell would wonder why she was suddenly being shy. Their thoughts would mirror one another, however:

It was amazing what three years could do.

Both were skinny things back in high school, but now..."You look great." He was sure that she'd have a boyfriend for him to meet. "You too!" She hoped that there wasn't another girl in the picture already, but he was always cute, and with how fantastic this man is looking these days...

"Is LAW holding some kind of event or something?"

"Oh, no. I'm here to compete."

"Bullshit."

He laughed. "No, really. My match is literally up next. I'll catch you up on that later. How about you?"

"Mine's coming up soon. I was just heading back to my locker room to finish up some stretches."

"Good luck! If I'm not beat up too bad, I'll be watching."

"Dude..." She began, with a look of concern. "Don't talk like that. You'll make me wanna go out there with you, then I won't be able to get ready for my match, and it'll be messier than my Anarquia days."

"Sorry, mom." That got him a smack in the shoulder and a quick chuckle. "Smartass. You doing anything tonight?"

"I'm as free as a bird."

"In that case, why don't you come over to my hotel room after the show? I'll rent a shitty horror movie we can snark at, and we can catch up and celebrate your win -- and you..." She punctuated "you" with her pointer finger. "Are going to win because you're awesome."

Not wanting to jinx himself, Terrell simply nodded. "Sounds good to me."

"Cool. In all seriousness, though, good luck and be careful out there." Beatriz stepped forward and gave him another hug. "I'll be watching you." Those words would serve as extra motivation for him. Terrell didn't know how this thing was going to go, but one thing was for damn sure: If he was going to go down, it wouldn't be without one hell of a fight. "Thanks."

The blonde lingered as Black Severin continued on to the battle ahead. Preparations for her own match would have to wait now; she wouldn't be able to focus until she saw how it went for him. Made sure that he was okay afterwards.

Now...

Standing behind the curtain, Severin took a deep breath and started on a groove even before Skee-Lo's "I Wish" sounded through the arena. At the twelve second mark, he finally stepped through the curtain and made his appearance, moving in harmony with the music as he made his way to the ring. He danced with a grace so well-practiced that it had become natural to him.

His nerves were still keeping him from engaging with the crowd. He was in a zone on his own, paying them little attention with only small smiles here and there. The dancing wasn't for them as much as it was for his need to calm his nerves, but he was genuinely happy to entertain.

"And her opponent, standing at five-foot-eight and weighing in at one hundred and fifty pounds, fighting out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Blaaaaack Seeeveriiin!"

The newcomer entered the ring with a leap over the ropes and transitioned into a breakdancer's windmill upon landing, eventually flipping back onto his feet, drawing a quick little pop from the crowd. He let out a satisfied chuckle, and some of that nervous energy that he was attempting to get rid of with it.

It came right back when he turned to his opponent. Selket looked like she was ready to go and none too happy. Probably because she'd been matched up with a rookie. His gut was telling him that it might not be the wisest course of action, but still, he wanted to at least try to be nice. And so he approached her, hand held out in front of him.

"Hello. Let's have a friendly match, yeah?"

Selket hummed in annoyed impatience as she waited for her opponent to come down to the ring. The Egyptian woman didn't know if it was taking longer than normal or if it was just own eagerness to get started. Whatever the case when the music for the man known as Black Severin finally started and he came out she would lick her lips in eager anticipation for him as he made his way down. Thankfully he wasn't overly flashy and long winded with his way down the ramp and to the ring.

At least until he entered, in which he did a little breakdance routine that made her roll her eyes in annoyance. But finally he would return to his full form and approach her, extending his hand out to her making her flit her eyes between his hand and his face. Strutting forward she would extend her own, seemingly to accept the handshake... Only to instead swing her arm up to smack her fist into his face without words, trying to nail the man with a suckerpunch!

There was some hesitation there. Maybe she'd been tricked by a Heel type before? Not an uncommon thing in this business. Instead of withdrawing his hand, however, Severin would simply wait in earnest. Selket seemed to have seen something in him that she could trust, because she would eventually walk over to grant him that handshake.

Severin was starting to look forward to a friendly contest against a-

BAM! By the time he saw her fist, it was too late to avoid it. Right to the jaw, and it was a good hit that sent him stumbling. The crowd was quick to make its disapproval known.

DING DING DING

Selket's sucker punch was followed by the ref frantically calling for the bell to ring, already knowing that he wouldn't be able to force the Egyptian woman to back off, so it'd be easier to just call this a unofficial start to the match!

Forcing Severing to stumble away Selket would watch with a calculating gaze, waiting, preparing like a predator for the perfect moment to pounce and go for a kill. In this case the moment she was waiting for was for Severin to start to turn around.

Because the moment he did so she would pivot on her heel, closing the distance between herself and her opponent, spinning as she did so while flinging one leg up, attempting to catch him with a round house kick to the head to try and take her foe off his feet!

Should that move work than Selket would follow it up by placing said foot directly on his face. Pushing his cheek against the mat while grinding her heel in a bit, holding him down for what the ref realized was a actual pinfall, albeit an exceptionally disrespectful one!

Fuck!

First the cheap shot, and then to make matters worse, it appeared that he had another asshole referee to contend with as well. When Severin heard that bell ring, he knew he had to pull himself together fast. And he did; he'd taken more than his fair share of punches in school and from his older brother at home growing up.

But it wasn't fast enough. When he turned to face her, Selket had a roundhouse waiting for him, and it was a damn good one. There was no fast self-collection from that.

The masked man was on the mat before he'd even realized he'd fallen, but when it set in; when he realized that he was in a position where he was looking straight forward and seeing the ceiling-

She stomped down on his face before he could do anything. Pressed his cheek right down into the mat, and with it, his shoulders followed. As she grinded her heel into his face like he was an insect or some other inferior being, the referee slid into his vision and started counting.

ONE!

TWO!

Fuck that noise!

Severin took hold of her foot and shoved that shit out of his face, his raised shoulders breaking the count. And then he got his legs swinging to generate the momentum to whirl his body about in a rising motion until he was flipped into a three-point position with his hands propping him up and one foot set on the mat, giving him a decent base from which to thrust the other out at her!

Selket was showing her ruthlessness and ferocity right out of the gate with her vicious little sucker punch to Severin's face followed by a roundhouse kick that took him off his feet entirely.

Enabling Selket to press her heel against his face in a mocking pinfall attempt that would surely aggravate him. Not that she'd care though. All that mattered to her was that she won as soon as possible, and while a more secure pin may have insured that it needed to be a win worthy of her, hence the almost queen like way she pressed her heel down.

Besides with her opponent being a man there was a decent chance he may just let himself lose due to attraction.... Not that it happened. In fact before the count could go past the start of the two count, Severin had not only broken free of her pin, but did so in a way that allowed him to strike at her!

"Agh!" Selket grunted out as she was forced backwards by the kick, wincing as she held her thigh in pain before glaring at the man, waiting for him to get up before charging forward, trying to launch a lariat at his chest as she approached him!

A good hit in a good spot; Severin wasn't aiming for any particular part of her. Just as long as it hurt and made some space.

Oh no, she didn't look very pleased. How terrible!

Selket made her move the moment he was on his feet. Maybe just a fraction of a second before he started running as well. He could tell from the way that arm was coming around that a lariat was about to be unleashed. He wasn't standing at his full height when he got his feet moving, so it was probably going to come out lower than normal.

Roll.

It was the right call. He could feel her arm passing overhead right as he dipped down. If that thing hit, he would've needed time to find his head and put it back on his shoulders. With disaster averted for the time being, Severin continued picking up speed, turning and bouncing off the ropes. He painted a target on the same thigh he'd happened upon seconds ago on the way back, chambering both legs as he took flight to deliver a dropkick!

Selket was already angry coming into this match, but she was even angrier after some of her offense had failed and worse yet got nailed with a kick to her thigh as well which only made her anger bubble up even more. Blitzing forward furiously with the intent of smashing into Severing with a lariat however Selket would find her attempt at offense barely being avoided!

"Damn..." Selket hissed, about to turn to glare at her opponent and keep track of him, only to receive a sudden dropkick to her thigh! "AGH!" Selket yelled out, a spike of pain shooting through her system as her base was immediately taken out and she fell to the mat, wincing in pain and holding her leg with a soft hiss, knowing that this wasn't good at all.

There we go!

Severin made a quick scramble to keep the momentum shifting in his favor. Selket had a weakness and he had just the move in mind to keep that quad screaming. He just had to flip her over.

He reached for both legs, the aim being to hook his arms tightly around her calves so he didn't have to worry about her kicking at him while he maneuvered her into a prone position. If he could get that done, he'd release her unaffected leg as he stepped over to and knelt at her side. One knee on the mat, the other on her back to keep her in place. Place his free hand above her knee, and give that leg a good wrench!
