Reeling from a defeat from a certain European doctor, Aphrodite had managed to recover quickly enough after her defeat, a renewed vigor to win again and continue the domination of the goddess of love right here in LAW. Since the checks cleared as well, Aphrodite was more than willing to back out there and show the crowd just what a goddess of love can do, especially since being asked to participate in the qualifying rounds for the Apex, the first of its kind here in the company and an offer she couldn't just refuse.

Her music soon playing, Aphrodite would stroll out towards the ring, decked out her normal scantily clad appearance of a white strapped bikini, white elbow pads, and matching toeless athletic socks. She'd push back her long blonde hair, strutting down to the ring and ignoring any attention she got from what fans she had in the crowd in heelish fashion, as if to show that she was beyond them, for Aphrodite would only accept their blind and utter worship for her to even think of them. Getting into the ring was the only acknowledgement, blowing a kiss out to the crowed as she bent forward while climbing through the middle of the ropes, smirking as she with her arms out in the center of the ring, eyes closed and head upwards.

The spotlight was on her of course and she was going to soak it all in, beaming down from the rafters like a radiant light, as if to support her supposed divinity and character. So once finished showboating, she'd lay back against her corner, waiting for her opponent to arrive, this Mae person as she was told, having never met them before.

This was her opportunity to fight for the gold, and in order to do that, Mae would have to wrestle in qualifier matches. Tonight, she would be facing Aphrodite in the qualifier match. Eager to show her stuff, the blonde American got herself ready, wearing her star-spangled wrestling outfit. She was restless in the locker room, and once it was her turn to make her entrance, she energetically stepped out to the ramp as her music was played. Despite the audience being mostly Japanese, they received her quite positively, as evidenced by the loud pop.

Strutting down the ramp, swaying her hips, Mae made her way to the ring where she would be facing her opponent, Aphrodite. Soon, she reached the ring, and she climbed up the apron before rolling under the ropes. Standing up, she raised her arms to get the crowd more pumped out. Then, she turned around and looked at Aphrodite. Quite a sexy babe, and she even called herself a goddess, if she wasn't so mistaken. "So, you're my opponent for tonight, huh? Hope you don't mind losing." She grinned as she waited for the match to start.

Laying back against the turnbuckle, Aphrodite's eyes narrowed as she saw whom her opponent was going to be. Some Americana themed tramp that was trotting down to the ring. Even if they weren't in the States tonight, she still managed to get the crowds interest going which brought a frown to the supposed goddess's face. This was her time to shine after all and she wouldn't stand for some interloper of course taking the limelight. She had a thought that such a thing was rather cliche for her, but it was thrown to the wayside once Mai got into the ring.

She'd bend forward a bit, sizable assets swaying slightly as Mae spoke to her, "O' is that so miss.... Lady Liberty or something? I do believe it will be you surrendering to me after I am finished with you. After all, there are so many eyes watching and I'd hate to disappoint all my worthy and loyal subjects," Aphrodite responds as she brings herself back up straight, sizing up her opponent to the best of her abilities. She couldn't pin it down what she'd be expecting to meet here in the ring, not sure wither they'd be some sort of grappler or a brawling type.

Mae just smiled upon hearing Aphrodite's words. She made her way towards the center of the ring, ready to tangle with this self-proclaimed goddess. Sizing her opponent up, Mae waited for the match to begin, and when the referee called for the bell, it was time for her to clash with her opponent.

Mae decided to start off the match by surging forth, looking to grapple with Aphrodite to see what this self-proclaimed goddess had to offer. She would lock up with her, getting one hand on her opponent's shoulder and another on the back of her head in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. She would start grappling with her to see what her opponent would do.

Aphrodite wore a pout upon her face as it didn't appear like this All-American was going to retort back. She liked it when they did, allowed her to get in their head somewhat, rile them up and get them unfocused. When the bell rang however there was no time to try another, stepping forward with her arms up intending to grapple with her, wrapping up with her in a collar-and-elbow. As expected, it appeared like her opponent would be a grappler, and so Aphrodite would oblige with her in the dance between the two.

She mirrored the move, attempting to worm a hand however as it was clear that she wanted to get behind her. It was a matter if Mae let her do it in attempt to get a better advantage. The goddess was being indecisive, typically at the least doing some homework in order to prepare herself for a fight. This match however was more impromptu, leaving her into a difficult position, "Up close, you're a little lacking," she spoke, trying to instead draw out a reaction again now that they were locked up together. If she couldn't win on information, she could win on sabotage.

Locking up with Aphrodite in a collar-and-elbow tie up, Mae was looking to exert her dominance early in this match. Hearing Aphrodite's remark, Mae raised an eyebrow. "Lacking? Lacking what?" She asked. The question didn't exactly rattle her, though it still caught her a little off-guard. It wasn't something that she would expect to hear in this situation, and it left her a little unfocused on their grapple, which would allow Aphrodite to take advantage of this if she so desired.

"This!" she called out as she attempted to swing her knee straight into Mae's gut. For the supposed goddess of love, playing fair was a show of weakness, only reserved for those she considered utterly equal. Of course, she didn't consider many of her foes in the ring equals, and so cheating was always a valid tactic. She was going to wreck this nationalistic tart, and make the stars and stripes bow before as the one requiring the worship of the citizenry, Irregardless of the methods that she was using to do it.

If such a first strike was successful, she'd strike again, and again before trying to Irish whip her straight into a nearby turnbuckle.

Aphrodite's words from earlier had left Mae unfocused, preventing her from seeing the knee to her belly coming. "GUHH!!" Her eyes widened as Aphrodite drove her knee into her belly, leaving her winded and breathless. Unable to keep up with her opponent in the grapple, the blonde American was then sent running towards the corner with an Irish whip.

Unable to stop the momentum, Mae was sent running towards the corner, and she hit the turnbuckle with her back. Groaning, she draped her arms over the top ropes, and she was a little rattled, having trouble keeping herself focused on her opponent, which would leave her vulnerable to whatever her opponent would do next.

Aphrodite smiled. It could be so easy making foolish goobers like this patriotic nut get all riled up or unfocused. Hitting her opponent repeatedly with knee strikes made sure to take the air out of anybody's lungs, especially Mae's, as the goddess of love had Irish Whipped her opponent right into a nearby corner turnbuckle. It was right where she wanted her foe, cornered and shaken. An easy target if there ever was one and Aphrodite wasn't going to just let such a fine opportunity go to waste for her. She wasn't going to just let another victory slip away so easily.

So, with Mae now in prime position, the goddess would taunt with her arms stretched, doing a circle before charging forward towards Mae. Quickly and efficiently, she'd jump up halfway with both feet raised. A Donkey Kick aimed right for the chest, sure to inflict some amount of pain on to a target, especially one against the corner.

Mae was at the corner, recovering from Aphrodite's attacks. She could see her opponent taunting her, though as she was about to regain her bearing, her opponent charged towards her and delivered a donkey kick straight to her chest, causing the American grappler to gasp out in pain.

"NGAUHH!!!"

The impact was enough to cause Mae to lose her grip on the ropes, and she ended up falling into a seated position at the corner. She groaned in pain, cradling her aching chest. At the moment, she was in a vulnerable position before the self-proclaimed goddess.
