Rem Mathers just could not get into focus for her second match in the Young Lioness Cup, just as in her debut match earlier in the tournament. But this time, it was for a completely different reason. Where in her first match, the weight of the situation and the pressure to win weighed down on her mind. But here, Rem wasn't sure if she should go out to the ring and fight at all.

Rem had won her first match, but then she threw it away. She lost control, and the same power she unlocked that overcame Reny also continued to brutalize her opponent until the referee revoked her victory and disqualified her. And more importantly, Reny had to be carried off by doctors. Rem had thought it a miracle that she had recovered in time to continue in the tournament.

Rem's music began to play, and her name was called. She had to make her choice now. Would she step out and fight, or walk away to stop the power that was as fearsome to herself as it was to her opponents from running loose again? It wasn't a conscious decision that set Rem walking down toward the ring, but her instinct. Rem was a life long wrestler, it was only natural for her to answer when her name was called.

Rem got a mixed reaction from the crowd. Of course there were those who cared little, and simply cheered at the spectacle of pro wrestling and a sexy girl in a bikini. Those who disapproved of her violence jeered her and told her she shouldn't be here. And disturbingly, there were those who cheered for the demon, hoping to see Rem brutalize Gabi even worse than Reny. Rem entered the ring, and prayed that she would end this fight in her right mind.

Gabrielle 'Gabi' Pelletier was a bundle of nerves as she tried to get herself ready to enter the ring for her first match as a Young Lioness, competing in this cup to try and stamp her name on the list of LAW's up and comers. Small but powerfully built, she had an impressive main of lush brown hair and tawny skin. Her shapely body was scantly encased by a white and red wrestling singlet, long red gloves and matching thigh-high boots.

She'd been training hard, working towards her moment on the big stage and this was her chance to show off the hard work. She needed to make the most of it.

Ring Attire

Her music, Avril Lavigne's 'Here's to Never Growing Up' erupted from massive speakers and, with her nerves jangling, Gabi stepped out into the light for her first match of the tournament.

She froze for a moment at the top of the ramp, taking in the cheering fans and the sight of her own face appearing on the jumbotron. Then she took a deep breath and forced her nerves down, smiling as brightly as she could and setting off down the ramp towards the ring, and her opponent. She tried to wave, hoping it looked natural as she acknowledged the fans, some of whom had been jeering her foe during Rem's entrance, until eventually she reached the ring. Mounting the corner steps she quickly ascended, ducking in between the middle and bottom ropes and straightening up to face her first opponent.

Gabi steeled herself, approaching Rem and sticking out a hand to shake. "H-have a good match!" she blurted out, her shrill voice betraying her nerves to anyone close enough to hear.

When Rem Gabi appear from backstage, she looked scared. Anyone else would recognize this as debut nerves, as this was Gabi's first match since the PPV matches were opening headliners held before the rest of the tournament. But Rem's current headspace had her assuming the absolute worst in that Gabi's fear came from having to fight the demon within Rem.

Rem's thoughts were only reinforced to her when Gabi greeted her. She caught her opponent's stutter and shaky voice and immediately thought her fear and nervousness was directed squarely at herself instead of the current situation that Gabi was in. "I hope so," said Rem. For her, that would mean just keeping control of herself.

When the bell rung, Rem would quickly go on the attack. While that may seem counterintuitive to not wanting to hurt her opponent, Rem's thought process was that her vicious side had been pulled out when she had been pushed to her limit and the brink of defeat. So if she could but Gabi away quick and easy, that would hopefully prevent that side of her from coming out.

Rem would charge Gabi and try to grab her arm. If successful, Rem would then turn and throw her butt into Gabi's waist, lean forward, and go for an over the shoulder judo toss. If she was able to get Gabi down on the mat with this, Rem would take the arm she already had in her grasp and try to end it immediately with an armbar.

To Gabi's concern, Rem did not seem overawed by the big stage, and Gabi's nerves were pretty clear to see for all. She settled into her wrestling stance when the two parted, thinking and thinking over her move-set and how to apply it to a real match. She could do this - she just needed to remember-

The bell rang.

Gabi was so engrossed in her own thoughts that she hesitated for a moment, and it proved to be disastrous. Rem was upon her before she could think, grabbing the Canadian's arm. In a swift flurry she was yanked forward, briefly pressed against Rem's butt before being dumped unceremoniously onto the canvas in a swift Judo Toss. Rem, however, was not finished there, as she maintained her hold on Gabi's arm.

"Wha... no, no-AAAIIIGHHHH!" Gabi squealed piteously as the armbar was locked in. It might not have been the most complex submission hold, but for Gabi's weak constitution it was already a nightmare as the pain quickly swelled to be more than she could handle! Shaking her head she let out another shriek of pain, struggling and kicking wildly with her legs, her eyes screwed tightly shut.

She was desperate not to tap out so quickly and easily, but if she didn't get loose soon she might not have a choice.

Rem's first attack went off clean and without a hitch. She threw Gabi onto the mat and locked her opponent's arm between her thighs and began driving her hips upwards to bend the elbow backwards. Maybe this would go well for Rem. After all, the armbar was a nasty submission hold to be caught in and won many a match.

But then Rem heard Gabi's screams. The brunette shrieked, screamed, squealed, and cried as her legs and free arms flailed around wildly trying to find some means of escape. Rem had Gabi in agony, but that was the problem. Rem desperately wanted to avoid hurting Gabi, if she hurt her when she wasn't even in her demon mode, but in full control, that would be the worst outcome of all.

Rem felt her willpower fading. She wanted to win the match, but she still found herself subconsciously easing up the pressure she had on her armbar. And when she tried to put the pressure back on, she found that her hips wouldn't go up and her hands wouldn't pull Gabi's arm down. Rem knew this was going to cost her, but she couldn't force her body to keep wrenching Gabi's arm.

Gabi's piteous squeals echoed around the arena as she thrashed in the armbar submission, her low tolerance for pain becoming abundantly clear to those watching. She tried to tough it out, but it was just too much. Embarrassment swelled within her as the horrible realisation hit that she was about to be taken out of the match in a single move.

However, just as she felt like she could stand it no longer the pain on her arm eased, the pressure slackening off slightly. Gabi blinked in surprise. Had she outlasted Rem's strength to maintain the hold? She didn't know, but whatever the reason she had gained a moment of respite.

She wasn't going to waist it. With a shriek of effort Gabi pulled, trying to yank her arm out of Rem's grip. At the same time she planted her free hand against the canvas and pushed up hard, trying to use her strength to buck Rem off of her and send the other Lioness tumbling!

When Rem took her foot off of the gas, she couldn't have expected anything less than for Gabi to take advantage and push back to fight her way out of the armbar. And seeing as Rem couldn't will herself to reestablish her armbar, it wasn't long before Gabi succeeded in breaking out. And as a result, Rem's legs were thrown up over her head as she was forcibly rolled off of her opponent.

Thankfully for Rem, Gabi was too slow to put any pressure on the bluenette after escaping the armbar, so Rem was able to stand up and gather herself. But she honestly had no idea what she was going to do. Rem had thought she could win if she had been able to put Gabi away quick without tempting her violent side to come out, but now it looked as thought that would be an option.

Rem was frozen in her uncertainty. All she could think to do was to let Gabi come to her and see what happened. She would do her best to defend herself and try to find some way that she could win that wouldn't get disrupted by her mental block. But now the question was what would that method be for Rem?

Gabi let out a shrill howl of relief as she succeeded in powering her way free of the armbar, sending Rem rolling across the canvas. The other woman was out of her reach by the time Gabi got to her feet, but still, she'd bought herself some breathing space, and a chance to take the initiative. Rolling her shoulder, she quickly settled into her wrestling stance and twisting to face her foe once more. However, it seemed that Rem had been thrown off by Gabi's escape, not trying to follow up as Gabi had expected.

Seeing Rem seemingly frozen in indecision, Gabi tried to take full advantage. She lunged forward, charging her foe and ducking low. If Rem didn't get react in time Gabi would attempt to stoop and grab her foe around both thighs before powering upright. She would lift Rem up off the canvas before driving her back down with thunderous force to execute a powerful spinebuster!

The advantage that Rem had earned from her aggressive opening was now officially gone, as Gabi had now gone on the attack against her. As unsure as she was on offense, Rem could at least still defend herself. She went low to meet Gabi and the two girls were locked up, butting heads and trying to push the other back for the upper hand.

Each girl held their own against the other, and eventually, Rem would try to make a move to end the stalemate. Maybe if I could pin her, thought Rem, hoping to have found a solution to her dilemma. Rem would switch from pushing to pulling as she dropped down onto her back. Once Gabi was over her, Rem would fire her leg straight up into the brunette's chest, trying to knock Gabi onto her back.

If Rem's attack was successful, she would avoid hesitating and waste no time trying to cover for a pin. She would run to Gabi and try to grab one of her legs as she ran past them. Then Rem would turn and try to fall with her back onto Gabi's shoulders for a pin, hooking her by the leg that she had grabbed. Please stay down, hoped Rem.
