Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Sitting on the back of a contortionist, stretching her lips out, while her ex-girlfriend and unwanted tag partner dug up old shit from their failed relationship.
No, this was not the way Halloween Sonohara wanted to spend her Saturday night.
But, like it or not, she was here, so she might as well make the best of it, right? To be fair, things were going relatively well so far since she tagged in, aside from Lovers being, well, Lovers. Not only was she getting the better of Morgan, but she was understanding the woman more, to say nothing of her dynamic with Callie. She was starting to get a distinct mentor/trainee vibe between them, with Morgan being the Vader to Callie’s Sidious. That meant the older woman was the real danger, while this one - the hyperactive little pixie - was the weak link.
Isolate and destroy. Oldest tag team trick in the book.
But Halloween wasn’t going to pull it off with this move, as fun as it was to watch Morgan squirm. No, she needed to think bigger, bolder, and after a quick glance in the corner, she had her plan. ”All right, that’s enough of that silliness.” Halloween unhooked the hold and gave Morgan a pat ont he head, before she stood up and forced her opponent to rise with her.
As soon Morgan was on her two feet, Halloween jerked to the side, and used all her strength to hurl her opponent into the corner, making sure to put her bodyweight into the movement for some added oomph. As soon as she was off, Halloween dashed behind sticking in Morgan’s shadow, her tiny feet barely touching the ground as she strode.
As soon Morgan hit the turnbuckle, Halloween leaped up, swung her leg forward, and attempt to drive a vicious knee strike dead center on the woman’s face, hoping it would knock some sense out of - or maybe into - her opponent’s head.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Rubber finally had sympathizer.
Though Morgan suspected it was probably the restriction of her blood to her head finally getting to her. It wasn't like this was a chokehold or anything, but it was like putting your feet up and having them fall asleep, growing annoyingly numb as if static was a feeling. That was the head, at least, but it did little to spare her from pain of her cheeks being pulled. Or the spine being bent. Or the abs being stretched.
But look at the bright side, Morgan might say if she could right now. She played third wheel to team relationship issues, though Morgan probably wasn't off the hook with her partner, albeit different reasons. The other bright side, Halloween finally had enough of that 'silliness' and the blonde was finally released from her purgatory of anguish.
Release was sweet, she didn't even mind the condescending pat on the head.
Though Morgan would have to keep a tally of all the ways Halloween was belittling her. The little Trick-or-Treater was due for plenty of tricks but as Morgan was lifted, her spine and stomach finally able to straighten out, she found she was quite wobbly. No more effective than a patient just out of surgery, she groggily complied with getting to her feet. She was surprised her feet were steady but they weren't really the ones getting bent so she supposed that made sense.
"Maybe a timeout?"
Morgan uttered, beleaguered by her troubles though she imagined that would fall on deaf ears quickly as she was hurled by the shorter tyrant towards the ring post. Her feet stumbled backwards and she crashed her back into the turnbuckle with a rattle.
"Oomph.." Morgan grunted with herself settling into the corner. She could see it coming. Halloween, full of a frightful momentum as she leapt up, but like the first victim in a horror flick, she was helpless.
The knee smacked right into Morgan's forehead, throwing her head back. Her whole body went limp after the violence, slouching into the corner. Her head dropped, arms tangled around the top ropes, legs limp and unorderly in positions underneath her.
Was it time for her to tag out now, she thought deciding to keep her eyes closed as the annoyingly numb head was traded for a throbbing concussed head.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Oooooooooooooooh, boy, Morgan was in trouble. Lovers knew her girlfriend - sorry, ex-girlfriend well, had seen her enter Beast Mode plenty of times. She might have been small, yeah, but when she got going, she could hit like a freight train, and she knew how to make the most of what she had. And she was definitely feeling herself right here and now.
The knee connected, dead center on Morgan’s pretty face, and sent the poor thing reeling so hard that even Lovers was left wincing. It looked like it turned off all her lights off, too, leaving her limp and sagging as Halloween slid off her. Perfect target, couldn't ask for more, and it even made Lovers nostalgic for one of her partner’s favorite spots.
”Hey!” She called out and waved Halloween’s way, getting her attention. ”Give me a countoff!”
Halloween looked like she was about to grab Morgan’s wrist and send her running with another Irish Whip, but she stopped when the request came her way, looking back at Lovers’ with a raised eye. She contemplated for a moment, then shrugged it off. ”All right, fine, count off it is.”
Halloween hopped up on the middle rope in the corner, pressing her hips against Morgan’s face to keep her in place. She raised her fist high to the crowd, rallying them and getting a fresh cheer in response, and then the blows came raining down. ”Uno! Dos! Tres!”
Lovers counted along, as well, and even got the crowd going along with them - she’d always loved the crowd participation stuff.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
When was the last time her body ached this, Morgan wondered. She had gotten so use to the toll her shows in Vegas had demanded that she really didn’t feel much. Heck, even if she felt remotely sore, she’d just hit up a high quality spa for a message and relaxation. That was a very easy gig. This was not and that’s why Morgan wanted to be here.
There might have been a moment where she was knocked out after that knee. Her whole body falling into that corner was evidence of that. However, she was as awake in her head enough to hear opponent concede to Lovers request. A count-off? That did sound like something Morgan would want to do. What was it even?
The answer was immediate but brutal in the Stage Magician’s personal taste.
Uno!
A blow to the head. Ouch. Why couldn’t Halloween be more whimsical with it?
Dos!
Could you do whimsical in this case?
Tres!
Ow. Hey! I’m trying to think here!
Morgan shot her arms around to Halloween’s sides, angling her hands to place in front of her small frame. Then Morgan pushed with everything behind her with an inkling of rage. A little overkill because Halloween was a shrimp so it wouldn’t take much to toss her.
Since Morgan didn’t want Halloween to get off easy, she did pull her down as well to slam her into the mat. Callie had a name for this. Something about a bomb?
It did feel like a bomb with how hard Morgan and swung Halloween down into the mat, netting the loudest ring shake of the match, she thought.
Morgan plopped onto her bum and sat there. Relieved for a change as she rubbed her head.
“Kinda wanted you to hold back because it is my first match ever but fiiiiine. If the Horror Show wants a little gore in her flick, I got something.”
Maybe she should have run for Callie and tagged out, but she just felt the need to stuff something in Halloween’s face.
Rising to her feet, Morgan was steady enough to grab at Halloween’s legs. She was sluggish but all she needed was the legs. Her hands had a firm grip on her opponent’s legs and then Morgan tried to throw her weight back, dropping herself to the mat but swinging Halloween back up to hopefully smash her head into the turnbuckle!
A little tit for tat.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Halloween would be lying if she said this wasn’t a little nostalgic. As something of nostalgia fiend, she had to love it.
It had been a while, maybe too long, since she’d had the chance to really cut loose like this in a match and have some fun. The match that got her into LAW in the first place, the brawl with Death Bunny, was a ton of fun, but she hadn't thought too much about her time with the company outside of doing that. She just figured she would get a few matches here and there, maybe get a title shot at some point, and call it a day from there. That was how 95% of LAW careers went, near as she could tell.
Tag-team wrestling was fun, though, and she’d almost forgotten how much she enjoyed it, even with Lovers’ being typical Lovers, there was a vibe to it that suited her. There were warning klaxons going off in her brain, warning her that the bad idea was, in fact, a bad idea, but as she mounted Morgan and proceeded to pummel her face, she started to get lost in the moment. The crowd, the cheering, Lovers’ starry eyes…
Starry eyes which were suddenly getting further and further away.
Halloween shook her head about, frantic, as Morgan came surging out of the corner with more energy than she would’ve expected at this point. It was a long way down, and Morgan brought her than canvas with a stiff powerbomb, hitting hard enough to make her body bounce up after the impact.
Nasty. Real nasty. And Morgan wasn’t done, it seemed. She had just started to sit up, when she felt the woman grab her legs, pulling them up and yanked her upwards. Halloween tried to fight the moment, but there was little she could do as she was lifted and sent flying with the slingshot. She went flailing into the corner and wound up smacking her face up against the pads, and that was where she stayed, slumping against them and groaning.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Morgan took a moment to assess herself. She ached, head throbbed, she felt tired, but man, did she feel, oh so good. It wasn't just because she had stuffed Halloween's face into a padded mat. That was just a bonus. It was the fact that she really couldn't predict any of this. This wasn't a choreographed show and anything could happen. It might have seemed scripted that Morgan would come back at the right moment to not get totally washed and have the match continue, but that's the thing. It wasn't!
Sitting up and rolling up to her feet, Morgan turned around to see her opponent looked a bit worse off. Maybe not to Morgan's level yet but that was fine.
Her attention shifted to her opponent's tag team partner, Lovers. Morgan gave a wave. "Hi Hanako!"
A brief prelude that set up Morgan to reach out with both of her hands to grab a pigtail each of Halloween. Yanking to pull her away, the magician tried to retreat the pair back to her side of ring. Once sufficiently away, she'd turn and using her grip on those pigtails an improvised steering wheel to get Halloween to face another turnbuckle. The one Callie was standing by.
"This scary movie isn't quite done with you yet, Halloween~"
Morgan chirped, pressing in behind Halloween with her facing leaning over the Shorty's shoulder. She would then shove her elbows into Halloween's back but keep her grip on the hair and charge forward, pushing Halloween on to slam against the turnbuckle and get smushed between that and Morgan!

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Ooof, so much for going on a roll. That one looked nasty.
It didn’t look like Halloween was out or anything too serious, but the sudden reversal and getting her face clocked had clearly done a number on her. She slumped against the corner, her fuzzy pigtails draped over the top turnbuckle, and it looked like she was just barely hanging out. One of their biggest weaknesses, right there - neither of them took hits particularly, not built for the big damage.
She leaned over the ropes, concerned, though she did take a moment to wave back at Morgan. No harm in being friendly. Halloween didn't see it that way. ”’Hi, Hanako’.” She did her best impression of Morgan’s chirpy voice, then broke into some grumbling, grumbling that was swiftly interrupted when the inevitable happened.
Morgan grabbed her pigtails. Happened to her at least once a match. ”Ow, ow, get off, get off!”
Morgan used them as a handle while she marched her around the ring, keeping her in control all the way over to their corner. She was shoved hard up against the opposite corner and pressed against it, and while she put up a struggle, it was pretty clear she wasn’t going anywhere for a little while - the TBDs had her good and trapped.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
Callie had thought they were done for. Morgan had never been really pressured in their sparring matches before because why would Callie potentially harm her meal ticket to the big leagues? Maybe a bit dishonest by being gentler and definitely dishonest saying others will go easy on the rookie, but it was all working out in the end.
“I’m a little surprised, Morgan. To be honest, I thought you were a goner.”
Callie said meeting Morgan’s rather self satisfied smile.
“Nah! Not with this shrimp! Here, your turn!”
Morgan beamed like she was a child presenting her parents with a gift. She was quite proud that she managed to hang on and was setting up her team for victory. Callie was the freshest person in the match right now so she had this in the bag!
Callie reached out and tagged Morgan.
“What are we doing?”
Callie asked, glancing at Halloween.
“Up and down.”
Morgan replied, yanking Halloween by the hair again to pull her away from the corner, turning her by ninety degrees, and then she slid right next to her, making sure to give a hip bump.
“Aaaand, Presto!”
Morgan called, as she changed her motion to grab Halloween’s arm to do a One-armed Sidewalk Slam!
Callie had meanwhile taken to the top rope of their corner and leaped off. She wasn’t Morgan and wouldn’t dare think of doing a flip but since Morgan liked the classics, Callie aimed for an Elbow Drop right at Halloween’s core!

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
God damn it, Halloween wanted to go one match, just one match, where someone didn’t grab her pigtails. It was like people saw a sign on the top of her skull that ‘grab here’, and they always went for it, and it always ticked her off. She could see if she was heavy, but she was the lightest of the lightweights, totally tiny. It did not take much effort to grab her by the arms or the shoulder or whatever, but no. Always the hair.
That was the least of her problems at the moment, though, being honest. No, her most significant and most present problem right now was being ganged up on, far away from friendly territory.
It seemed like it was the TBDs turn to have a little confab, all while they kept Halloween under control. She knew better than to try and fight her way out of this, a two on one situation was just going to work out for her. That didn’t mean she wasn’t going to do a little biting back, though. ”’Shrimp’?” She glared up at Morgan. ”Pfft, talking like you’re a giant, please. Perras estúpidas…”
That was about all she could do at the moment, though, as the two traded off. Props where it was due, they didn’t just tag and leave - no, they had a little plan set up, and Halloween was an unwilling participant. She was pulled in - by the pigtails, of course by the pigtails, was lifted up, and summarily spiked with a sharp sidewalk slam. That would’ve been enough by itself, the impact made her teeth rattle and left her seething, but then she looked up and saw Callie flying her way at an alarming rate.
”Meirda-”
She tried to roll out of the way, but it was too late. Callie’s elbow drove deep into her gut, nearly splitting her in half, and all she could do was roll away in a coughing fit, clutching her stomach and kicking her leg about as she wallowed on the canvas.

Re: The TBDs vs. Scary Love - LAW Is For Lovers
"Shush."
Morgan had said in response to Halloween's technicality claim. It didn't matter if they were almost the same height. What mattered was that Morgan was taller so she got to use shrimp and short terms all she wanted. Besides, as the Magician made her exit, her earlier abuse was coming to light. As she ducked under the rope, her abs enflamed and her back felt stiff and just as sore. There was also the pounding headache from a skull rattled. Honestly, what ever happened to that notion that they would take it easy on a rookie!
Callie, meanwhile, was wasting no time or energy. By the gift of supreme luck, Morgan did not get pinned or submit to a hold. Credit where credit is due, she held out getting bent and beaten pretty hard and came through. Now it was her turn to come through and it started with Halloween.
Anyone might have gone for the pin here, Callie, thought, but she didn't want to keep grinding her opponent down. At least once more and she'll see where it goes. Rising to her feet she stepped around to those frantic kicking legs and parted them aside to allow the Indie to step up and bend down. She grabbed an arm of Halloween's and then heaved, lifting the smaller woman up onto her shoulder before rising in a Fireman's Carry.
With Halloween as light as she was, Callie had to take advantage of some of the throws she had learned. She had the strength for it to do a few against those in her weight class but for lightweights? It was far easier to get more creative.
WIth Halloween's weight supported, Callie threw herself backwards turning the position into a Samoan Drop, slamming Halloween into the mat again. Now she'd go for the pin and quickly turn, sliding an arm underneath one of Halloween's thighs and lifting while her other arm stretched across her collar to hold her down.
The ref slipped in beside them and started the count with a satisfying slap on the mat.
