Hikaru vs. Emilia: Climbing The Ladder

Hikaru had a secure hold on Emilia but the struggling woman managed to pop her head free leaving Hikaru unsteady in the aftermath of the escape.

Hikaru tried to scramble herself up to her feet as she hoped to avoid getting caught by Emeilia with follow up offense to her escape.

Still breathing heavily, Emelia managed to squirm loose from Hikaru's grip and roll free. Rounding on the other woman she didn't really have a plan, but she knew she didn't want to give Hikaru a chance to continue the momentum she'd built up.

Emelia lunged forward, trying to trap Hikaru into a collar-and-elbow lock up and shove her opponent hard back into the ropes, hoping to press herself up against her foe to pin her in place.

Hikaru felt herself locked into a grapple and in her current position she was pushed back! Hikaru wasn't quite as strong as Emilia and in her current state this was amplified as Hikaru was shoved back, pressed completely against the ropes. She tired to push at Emilia and kick at her but she didn't have a good angle to land a hit meaning she was at the mercy of her opponent for the time being. This was not at all the position Hikaru could afford to be in at this point in the match as she was starting to wear down.

Emelia shoved hard, and her greater strength showed as she managed to push Hikaru right back into the ropes, pinning her in place. Pressing hard, she hoped to get some spring from the ropes to take her next move forward.

With the ropes tense with the weight of both women upon them, Emelia would suddenly leap backwards with all her might, trying to keep a hold of Hikaru's head as she went. With the ropes pinging Hikaru forward, Emelia attempted to take advantage of the surge in momentum to slam her opponent down to the mats with a facebuster!

Hikaru felt herself falling forward and she was unable to stop the pain full impact! She watched with dread as the mat got close and her face smashed off it!

"ARRRGGHHHH!" Hikaru shouted as she rolled onto her back, her legs frantically kicking the mat as her hands covered her throbbing face!

With Hikaru reeling after the facebuster, Emelia saw a rare opportunity to finish the match off quick and clean, not wanting to leave the window open for her foe to recover. Taking a deep breath, she scrambled over and threw herself across Hikaru's body, attempting to flatten her foe to the ground.

If she succeeded, she would hook up one of Hikaru's legs, her other arm laid across her opponent's chest as she tried for a count, looking expectantly at the ref.

"ONE!"

"TWO!"

Hikaru was hurting but not out of it just yet, thrusting a shoulder up after the two count! She tried to shove Emilia off of her, but she laid there gasping for breath and struggling to rise to her feet herself. Hikaru was in a bad spot and struggling to keep up with Emilia as she was surging! Hikaru had to do something fast otherwise she was going to have trouble digging herself out of a big hole, the last thing she wanted was to fall so behind that defeat was inevitable.

The second count came, and for an instant Emelia swelled with excitement at the prospect of her first win in LAW being a second away. That hope was dashed, however, when Hikaru thrust her shoulder up violently after the two count, shoving Emelia off of her and leaving both wrestlers laying on the mats breathing heavily.

Cursing silently, Emelia tried to keep her composure. She just needed to keep going and the match would be as good as hers. Struggling upright, she attempted to pull Hikaru up as well, taking a hold of the other woman's arm and attempting to Irish whip her towards the ropes to set up for her next move.

Hikaru groaned and she felt herself being pulled up to her feet. She knew she didn't want to be at the mercy of Emilia so she tried to reverse it, planting her feet and twisting to instead send Emilia running to the ropes! Hikaru set herself up and readied for Emilia to come running back, trying to position herself to deliver a big hip toss to the running Emilia as she ran back at Hikaru.

Emelia's sense of control ended up being her undoing as she tried to whip Hikaru to the ropes. Still thinking several steps beyond her Irish Whip, she didn't react in time when her opponent planted her feet for a reversal. Instead of flinging Hikaru at the ropes, Emelia found herself propelled across the ring.

"Waagh?!" A blurt of surprise escaped the Norwegian as she went running. She struck the ropes pinging back towards Hikaru without time to do much more than brace herself for whatever her opponent might be concocting!
