Marceline Gagnon vs. Blair Dame - Le Rasoir National

Blair Dame hadn't forgotten that the rules made the outside of the ring fair game for their fighting, but even a small reprieve would be a welcome one, anything to help her catch her breath and still her mind. She’d expected Marceline to come after her soon and press the advantage.

What she hadn't expected were theatrics, yet that was precisely what she got, as Marceline made a grand show out of the moment, even going so far as to refer to herself in the third-person. Blair Dame was the last person to ever criticize someone for playing to the audience, but she hadn't pegged ‘Madame Guillotine’ for that sort. An error on her part, but an informative one.

She looked on as Marceline backflipped out of the ring - impressive maneuver - and made her way to the floor on the opposite side to start digging under the ring. While she knew that weapons would eventuall factor into this match, she hadn't expected them to cross that line so soon. So be it.

Blair Dame made her way to the apron as well and began digging under it, rifling through the bric-a-brac for something useful. All the common items were there, of course. The tables, the fire extinguisher, the chair, the trash can, the kendo stick…

…hm.

To the crowd’s surprise, Blair Dame brought out the kendo stick. Not the weapon she would need to end this match, but a decent choice. She had no intention of using it in the traditional way, however.

She waited until Marceline’s head came back into view on the opposite side of the ring, then stepped away, drew the kendo stick back, and hurled it through the rope and across the ring like a javelin, aiming at her face.

The match had been going just about as well as she could have hoped for to start with. She'd managed to wear down her opponent's limbs, especially her legs a good amount. She'd targeted her neck to sofened it up for the eventual conclusion of the match with an axe kick, forearm to the throat and a snap DDT that followed a knee to the torso. Yet here she was scrambling around for weapons at the ringside.

Had Blair not rolled out of the ring, she wouldn't be doing this, she'd have kept hammering away at her in a striking and grappling battle. She'd probably even got carried away at some point and had things turned around her. It was the escape to the outside that prompted Marceline to refocus on the match stipulations, which called for foreign objects.

It didn't take too long for Marceline to find the first object she was looking for. A rather long length of steel chain, which she kept on realing out to ringside, at the sound of a crowd growing into an ever louder frenzy. She had very cruel in tentions for the chain later, but she preferred that Blair not even know she pulled it out. Which was why she made sure to keep below the apron with it.

Marceline had managed to find a trash can lid as well while she was underneath, so she placed it on top of the lenth of chain to further conceal it. The first item that she would openly arm herself with, would be the one that everyone had already been expecting given the stipulations of the match, a steel chair. With it in hand, it was only now that she peaked up above the ring apron.

To her shock and surprise, that was when she saw a kendo stick hurled at her like a javelin. Instinctively, she only just managed to get the steel chair up in time to block the throw, which sent the stick clattering down to the ground. Right next to the garbage can lid, in fact. Which gave Marceline an excellent idea.

Hardcore wrestling was, admittedly, not Blair Dame’s forte.

This wasn't her first match under this stipulation, mind you. You would be hard-pressed to find any wrestler her age who had never engaged in such a contest, or at least their fair share of No Disqualification bouts. But these sorts of matches with weapons and plunder were outside of her wheelhouse, most of the time. She much preferred to deal punishment with her body, not because of fair play, but because it was just so much more rewarding.

But Marceline had no such limits, it seemed. When in Rome…

So far, her success in this arena was less than spectacular. To her surprise, Marceline proved to have greater reflexes for unorthodox attacks than she would’ve guessed, as she managed to get a chair up at the last few seconds to block the attack. Quick thinking, good reflexes.

She was going to have to do this the hard way, then. She pulled out another kendo stick, gripped it tight, and made her way around the ring with hurried steps, rounding one corner, then the other.

Subtlety was already out of the window, so she decided she might as well roll with it - as soon as she was close, she lashed out, swinging wide and looking to strike Marceline in the ribs.
