While Angela was no boxer, she had learned to put some serious force in her blows, enough to hold her own in most situations. What she lacked in speed, she made up for in raw, destruction force, a fact that Alicia could no doubt corroborate, going off painful firsthand knowledge.
The uppercut connected, landing far better than Angela could’ve ever hoped, cracking against her opponent’s chest. She could spy Dizzy over Alicia’s shoulder, wincing at the hit, but she shouldn’t have worried - she could already tell that the Hollywood Siren was made of sterner stuff than that. It would take a good deal more to break her. But she was in a bad position, and she’d reach that point sooner rather than later if Angela had any say in the matter.
Alicia tried defense for the moment, bringing her arms up to protect against another blow. Not an unwise move, but that wasn’t what Angela had in mind. They were a little too close to the ropes for her comfort, she wanted some space, and she wasn’t of a mind to wail away on the Hollywood Siren all day. As fun as that might have been.
Instead, Angela switched things up by falling to her side, shooting her legs out to scissor Alicia’s calf and ankle, and twisting to make her fall forward, trying to trip her up with drop toe-hold. A basic move, but a good way to put her down fast and create a bevy of new options.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
LAW had made it clear that they appreciated Siren's training style (and had kept her basically locked away in the performance center for months) because she did such a good job of picking up what people could throw at her the longer she fought them. It helped being big and thick enough to take a hell of a lot of hits so she could make those judgments. That said, she didn't plan to take more of those punches. As her arms raised, she whipped her own long bangs aside to see better since her blocking wouldn't do much good if she couldn't see the blow coming, but it turned out Angela didn't want to try and deck her, anyway.
No, she went truly old-school: Siren guessed she didn't care to avoid her reputation as an old lady. The Siren watched her drop, and prepared for the offense to come up top, she didn't have an answer for the legs that snapped around her ankle. The pull against that ankle that came from the bigger woman's twisting motion, Siren had to fall forward, not interested in having anything down there strained. She had enough time to adjust and fall on her hands, but the fact remained that she lay on her stomach without the room or the access to her legs that she needed to get up.
One thing was for sure: the veteran had some of that technical cuteness to her offense, too. Should have taught Dizzy a few more of those. Siren would stack that in her growing book of knowledge on Mama Belti, which was growing a little heavy. But she hadn't taken any blow to flatten her yet, and that, to her, sounded like a small win already.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
Alicia wasn’t the only one filing things away. ”Huh.”
Dizzy looked on, arms folded on top of the barricade, as her mother managed to down Alicia with that slick move. She’d seen it done before, but not in her mother’s matches - from what she remembered, she tended towards a lot of slams and throws and big power moves when she was facing smaller women, which was about 95% of the time. Why hadn't she taught her that one yet? It wouldn’t have worked on someone like Alicia with their size difference, but against some closer, like Gold Ace, it might’ve been a difference maker.
Thoughts like that were the furthest thing from Angela’s mind, as she managed to bring her younger opponent down, happy to win the first exchange of the match. She was liking what she saw so far, though they were only getting warmed up. These were the sort of matches she’d come to Japan for, after all - mixing it up with the younger generation, testing both them and herself. As mixed as her feelings were about Alicia, she was enjoying herself, and there was no point in hiding it.
She kept the toe hold locked only for a moment, before she released her opponent’s legs and pounced on Alicia’s back, trying to stop her before she could get too far, keeping her under control. She brought her arm around the Latina’s head, wrapped it up tight under her shoulder, and applied a tight side headlock, pouring on the pressure as she rose up to her feet and hauled her foe up along with her.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
The Hollywood hottie would have given a lot to have some magical escape conjure itself into a concept in her brain, but there wasn't much a chick could do from her stomach with her legs scissored into the air. Not willing to be a passive participant in anything, however (much less this match), the heavyweight pushed up onto her hands and flashed a defiant look up at the Italian while she tried to stretch her legs out. But the flexing muscles of her thighs didn't amount to magic, and she only had the chance to stretch her legs out again once Mama Belti let go. This control of her body wouldn't do; just didn't suit the Californian.
She guessed Mama Belti didn't care. That's how it seemed, at least, when Siren's attempts at shoving herself up once her legs were free resulted in...a lot more weight than she expected landing on her back. Cursing in Spanish as what had to have been two hundred pounds landed on her back, sending her knees out from under her and forcing her to land on her elbows to not end up pancaked on her chest. "Shit, get the-" She would have finished with dumbbells out of that leotard, but the burly arm that wrapped around her head and pulled her tight against Mama Belti's body gave her better things to do than throw out another insult.
Her fingers instinctively flew to pry at the arm pressuring her head, but the Latina was no dummy. After her fingers brushed over one of those biceps, she knew that cheap of an escape wasn't happening. She hated showing any sign of pain (rough times at school had taught her to keep stoic in a fight), but she had to accompany her groan of pain with as much of a wince as she could muster with the bottom half of her skull compressed. It was maybe a good thing her hair was so long and the arm was so big; her face was almost covered entirely.
Without much of an option save for a strained neck, as Angela started to rise, Siren pushed up with her legs to stay with her, only trying to respond once they were mostly to her feet by way of an elbow she swung at the perfect one's side. The angle sucked, but maybe she'd hit a rib. Wouldn't be nearly as big of a deal as the massive arm turning her face red in the headlock, but it was part of that hundred percent she wanted to give.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
While it wasn’t a conversation that Angela was ever going to have with Dizzy, she could see how her daughter would find this woman attractive, at least at a surface level. The Hollywood Siren moniker was appropriate, after all, and in her younger, wilder days, this was precisely the kind of woman she herself went crazy for. She had that kind of body, the sort that could draw you in with a wink, a sharp contrast to her own thinner, muscular form. But, under all those curves, there was a lot of power, and Angela could feel it as she came and tried to control her with the headlock.
Raw, brute strength, back up by an impressive will. There was a lot to like, here, a good passion. But without technique it wouldn’t be enough to beat her - more than strength, more than stamina, more than anything, that was Angela’s edge, and it was on full display.
Angela gripped her wrist hard for extra leverage and cranked the hold down hard, really grinding into her foe’s face, getting the most out of a simple move. Keeping Alicia under control…or so she thought.
She cried out as a sharp strike slice into her midsection, taking a stiff elbow on the bone. Not the hardest hit she’d ever suffered, but more than she wanted to take at this early stage in the match. She had plenty of options other than suffering the abuse, though, and she opted for a basic one.
Angela gave her opponent one more good, hard squeeze, before she abruptly let go of the hold and repaid Alicia’s elbow with one of her own - this one driven right between the shoulder blades, aiming for the tender spot.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
That had to be a rib she hit. Even through the feeling that her head might pop, she could feel the hit reverberate off her elbow. That made it all the more disappointing that she didn't let the headlock go, and in fact, the Italian powerhouse put enough of a brutal, deterring squeeze on her head that a faint, throaty squeak came out in response. That made for a shitty sign. She first tried to get a finger between that powerful bicep and forearm and her poor pouty face before she wound up for another elbow. Shit, might as well try to get that same rib again, better than standing here taking the punishment like an obedient dog with her ass half in the air.
A rush of renewed energy hit her, though, when Angela let her head go, and she started to pivot. An elbow got involved with the action again, yeah, but it sure as hell wasn't the Hollywood hottie's own. As the bone pinched the space between her shoulder blades, hitting that sweet spot where the feelings went all up and down the arms and spine, the heavyweight beauty fell to all fours. Now she had a matching sore spot on her back where the uppercut had smacked her in the chest twenty seconds earlier. The only difference that this one hurt like fuckin' hell. She needed breasts on her back.
She stayed there, now truly at heel like a dog, which wasn't a good look for a woman who wanted to be seen as the baddest bitch here. But she had to wait for the electricity to stop pouring through her shoulders to even feel like she could move. When part of it passed, the Siren, short on options, just threw a hand out, hoping to catch Angela's ankle at a lucky moment of unbalance and pull the foot out from under her. With her arm feeling like jelly, Siren didn't have many hopes it would work, but it was about all she could try.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
The audience - and Dizzy more than anyone - winced at that hit to the spine. It wasn’t just the move itself, but the way Angela had driven it home, making sure to target the bone. La Donna Perfetta wasn’t just strong, but she was precise, making sure to target the key areas with her strongest hits. It made the smaller Belti glad that her Mom held back so much when they sparred - she could only imagine the injuries she’d wrack up if her mother went all out.
She didn’t much like seeing Alicia go through it, either, and as her friend was brought down, she chewed her lip and started a little chant under her breath. ”Come on, Alicia. Come on…”
Angela, meanwhile, watched her opponent go down with some satisfaction. While a part of her wanted to be sympathetic to the brash, bold woman, a larger part knew better. Holding back would be an insult to both of them. Alicia had come expecting the full experience, and she was going to get it. If she couldn't handle it, that was on her. ”One moment.”
Angela’s plan had been a simple one - she was going to hit the ropes, come back, and boot Alicia square in the face before she could get too far. A solid idea, but it counted on her foe being too winded to do much, which she learned wasn’t the case when a hand reached out and grabbed her ankle at the wrong time. It was her turn to take a tumble now, as she flopped over and fell straight on her chest, making for a nasty landing.
It was hardly the end of the world, but it put her in a bad position, and she instinctively realized it. Needing to be up fast, she pushed against the mat and tried to rise, hoping to get up before her foe could capitalize.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
Siren felt a little like an old lady herself, one who had dropped her glasses and ended up feebly feeling around the floor to find them. Anatomy, like most everything, had never been her class, but she knew how hitting that tiny, perfect spot in a muscle or a nerve or a joint could make everything around it crumble. Under a normal hit, the half-Latin beauty probably would have recover fast enough to throw her shoulders into Angela's legs to knock her down. But the fallen Latina had to rely on stretching out with her hand like she wanted to tie together Angela's opposite shoelaces.
And wouldn't you know it, her little desperation move had the same effect as crisscrossed shoelaces. Or maybe a banana peel. Siren got her paw on Angela's foot just as the other woman took off, and though her fingers quickly slipped off, the damage was done in disrupting big Mama Belti's running rhythm. Must have been one of the few downsides to carrying that much muscle weight. The crowd reacted with surprised chatter when what must have been Mama's plan to run the ropes fell flat, and Siren tilted her neck, still stiff from the elbow into her spine, high enough to see Angela on her stomach the second after she felt the impact from the bigger woman's bellyflop against the canvas.
Sucked that her back stung so much that it took the Hollywood hottie an extra two seconds to rise. "Fuckin' work," she demanded of her body, under her breath, and once it managed to obey in a capable enough way for the Siren to regain her feet, she rushed over to the fallen Amazon who was already trying to get up and about ninety percent to being on all fours already. That just wouldn't do, and if Siren played it safe, she wouldn't get anything done.
This was going to hurt like hell.
Siren rushed low at Angela, and she reached out to attempt to grab the Italian's closest arm. If she caught it, she would try to throw herself over Mama Belti's back, bringing the arm with her and rolling Angela over onto her back. It was stupid as shit to throw herself to the mat in the process, yeah, but she had already sworn to herself that if stupid was needed, this match was gonna get some stupid, Hollywood-style.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
Well. No one ever accused Angela of being especially graceful.
She flopped down, flat on her chest and smacked her forehead on the canvas - a nastier fall than it might have looked like. People often thought that the ring was soft, that it was built like a bouncy castle. But after a lifetime of getting slammed against it, having sleepless nights where she tried to force slumber though aches, and mountains of painkillers, Angela could attest that even something as simple as flopping on the canvas could knock the wind out of you.
But no big deal - she was tempted to call Alicia’s moves a blind attempt, but it didn't matter. She was about to get up and move on, but Alicia had other ideas.
Moving with a swiftness that she didn’t anticipate, the smaller heavyweight moved over and seized her arm, trapping her before she could get too far. The woman was on top of her in the next moment, rolling her over, trapping her while she thrashed on top. An unusual move, but an effective one. She wasn’t going anywhere.
Not through brute strength, at least. Instead of trying to fight it too long, she shot her leg out, trying to catch the ropes and force a break before her foe could finish whatever she was going for.

Re: Alicia Soto vs. Angela Belti - Lost In Hollywood
If Angela would call the trip a blind attempt, she would have to call Siren's arm-grab-dive one, too. Wasn't like it was some pretty, often-practiced wresting move; it was just the maneuver that seemed right in the moment with the bigger woman down for at least a few seconds. For as much as the Hollywood hottie wanted crowds to adore her look and attitude as parts of her presentation that captured their attention, she didn't give much of a damn about her offense being pretty. As it turned out, it didn't feel too pretty for her own body, either.
She grabbed the arm, and after rolling over Angela's back, the only answer was to land roughly on the mat on her back...which already hurt. The half-Latin beauty hissed out her pain, but she held to the arm nonetheless. She was rewarded by the two hundred pounds rolling on top of her again, enough to make her croak and squash her thick figure into the mat in a way that probably pleased the people positioned at the nearest set of ropes, but at that point, she did at least have something of a plan formulated. With a grimace of concentration, she pulled the arm down, trying to snag it between her thighs so she could wrap her arm around-
For her trouble, she had a referee in her face as soon as the finished the first step of that plan and had Angela's elbow stuck between two thick thighs. Siren shot the dirtiest look at the little blonde who looked out of place wandering around the clashing titans, but it only took the ref gesturing at the other end of Mama Belti to paint the picture for the big beauty. Foot on the ropes. Mama had an out. No cheater, Siren produced nothing but a bored curse in Spanish and one quick squeeze of the arm between her legs before she untangled herself and raised her hands (with no small amount of sass) to let Angela get up first. She would probably resort to pushing her if she stayed there too long. Her back fuckin' ached. "Your arm better thank you."
