A More Fabulous Date

"I get by on enthusiasm, not singing talent," said Lilly, winking at Vera before listening to her explanation. She wasn't about to argue too much about her singing ability, which was certainly lacking on her end. She found her date far more fascinating at that. She hummed and nodded as she listened, acknowledging she was hearing Vera as she watched her. And she smiled, warmly and encouragingly. She quite enjoyed hearing her perspective.

"Probably for the best... And besides, you seem a bit happier now," remarked the blonde, leaning in slightly with a toothy grin. "And so you traded voice training for gorgeously impressive muscles that make women faint in awe of them," said Lilly teasingly. "Other women, obviously. I wouldn't swoon if you flexed a little bit, so I just wouldn't bother," said Becker, leaning back and fanning herself lightly, a smirk on her face.

Then, she would let out a sigh, watching Sapphire fondly. "But... I do admire the dedication. Moving from one craft to another. Completely switching up training. Finding the time to become great at it. Being... dedicated to improving yourself. I find you admirable, Vera. It's a very attractive trait on you. Was it difficult to transition to wrestling from being an idol, though?" asked the Doctor, canting her head slightly as she smiled at her date, interested in her answer. And meanwhile, their waitress was returning to their table, no doubt to see what the pair of women wanted to drink.

Vera giggled at Lilly's arguement about her singing. If everything went right, and a repeat date was on the table, then a karaoke bar was absolutely the next place she was taking the blonde. She hadn't been in one in a while herself, so the Russian made a mental note of that...

Vera did make a slight pout at Lilly saying she wouldn't swoon at the sight of her muscles, but smiled at Lilly's praise of her: "Thank you... The most difficult part wasn't even the actual wrestling training, it was training my body for it. Falling flat on my back, changing my diet completely, completely new training regimen in the gym, all of that. I used to do apartment wrestling for fun, and did pretty well for my size alone...but size alone can't get you far in wrestling. It did help with skills in the ring going forward, however. Once my body was ready, actual wrestling training took me just a few weeks to get a hang of."

The waitress arrived, bringing the wine in tow, pouring it for the two women while leaving it in an ice bucket nearby, asking: "Anything else?"

Vera realized that the two of them have talked so much, they completely forgot to check the menus out for food!

"Oh, give us a few more minutes..."

Nodding, the waitress walked off for a moment, while Vera looked through the menu: "What kind of dinner are you in the mood for tonight? They cook excellent Beef Stroganoff here..."

Lily Becker continued to listen to her date, watching Vera closely and nodding along with her. She had a simple smile on her face, enjoying getting to hear about her story a bit more--she liked to learn a lot about people in this way. "Mmm..." she retorted softly. "That's the worst part, isn't it? Training your body to take unbelievable abuse?" She shrugged, grinning. "You certainly have more than just the size going for you--I can attest to the skills. Although the size does help... especially with those muscles I promise not to swoon at, so you shouldn't even try to woo me with them," joked the psychiatrist again, rolling her eyes up with a smirk.

The wine would be set out before them though, and the waitress sent back after pouring them both a glass. Dr. Becker nodded appreciatively to the waitress before she left before focusing on Vera once more. "Well, if the authentic Russian recommends an authentic Beef Stroganoff at what I will assume is an authentic Russian restaurant in Japan... then I suppose I should go with that," said Lilly, folding her menu at once as she regarded Vera fondly. "I'd rather spend time on the more appetizing thing in this restaurant: you," stated the blonde, pausing one beat on purpose with a cheeky smirk on her face. "...'re company."

The American girl would then let out a sigh and say, "I have bothered you with entirely too many questions about yourself already, and I'm sure you're already exhausted by them--and they aren't over, by the way. But I can give you a breather: do you have any questions for me? Open book, entirely." Holding out her arms, representing said open book, Lilly allowed for Vera to ask what she'd want of her.

"Oh, you couldn't believe how bad it was at first... Especially with as tall as I am, the experience was even worse...", Vera painfully remembered how tough it was at the start: "And you may or may not agree... but it was definitely worth it in the end..."

Vera could be a bit slow in a relationship, but at least she understood the second time around what Lilly wanted, and as she finished her sentence, she flexed her arm up and down, trying not to get too many weird looks her way, but still showing off enough for Dr. Fabulous.

Once the two women decided on their meal, Vera nodded positively, and folded her menu: "Then borsch and beef stroganoff then, I think that'll be more than---"

Lilly interrupted Vera, as she heard her compliment, the blunette's cheeks reddening as she appreciated the compliment...only for the good doctor to spin it in the way to weaken the compliment:

"Oh, you tease...", Vera giggled, even though the blush didn't disappear from her cheeks, with Lilly giving a peculiar request in front of her:

"Hmmmm...", Vera would muse, taking a sip of the recently arrived wine, before deciding to go for the obvious question: "What got you into wrestling? I thought psychiatrists make a ton of money?"

With a warm smile, Lilly Becker took a sip of her own wine, looking satisfied with the taste. She liked that Vera was susceptible to her flirting. To Becker, it was all good fun, and she enjoyed seeing her dates have fun too. Keeping her fingers on the stem of the glass, she regarded Vera as she asked why she got into wrestling. Shrugging her shoulders, she rolled her eyes upward. It was an obvious enough of a question. Taking another sip, she prepped herself to answer, laying back a bit.

"Well... when you factor in the amount of money you put into it and what you're paying in student loans..." Lilly chuckled slightly, setting her glass down and rested her hands on the table, giving Vera a more sincere look, maintaining eye contact. "I wanted to be challenged. And I wanted to be challenged in something active. Something where I could be the most absolute ideal version of myself."

"So wrestling... was easy for that. It's a mental game, as much as a physical one. Something that satisfied my natural problem-solving wants. And so... being able to find new ways to defeat my opponents, breaking them down mentally, physically, sometimes even emotionally. That appealed to me," explained Lilly Becker patiently, brushing a strand of hair back. "And then soon, this opportunity came for LAW... and I was better off being in Japan for a while. So I moved my practice out here which... everyone thought I was crazy for doing, and I opened it up. I don't get as much traffic now, but the LAW paycheck makes up for that."

Canting her head slightly, she gave her date a fond smile and said, "I like wrestling more, though. It makes me feel... every bit as fabulous as I want to be." She then closed off her explanation with a wink, leaning in closer once more after she was done.

Vera listened carefully to Lilly. Money was definitely a factor in a lot of wrestler's careers, and she appreciated the Good Doctor being honest with her. She knew how awful debt could be to medical students in America... but her other reasons were even more interesting. Vera kind of suspected those reasons already, Lilly had too much fun deconstructing Vera on a lot of levels during their match, even though it wasn't personal on any level. Some people might say it was mean and sadistic of Lilly to list those as her reasons to enjoy wrestling... but as Vera thought about it, she was no different. She enjoyed the thrill of competition, and figuring out the way to defeat her rivals. That's why she became a wrestler in the first place.

In the end, both her and Lilly had a lot of things in common in that regard, and as such, Vera, with a smile, would raise her glass towards the blonde:

"Then here's a small toast. For being Fabulous and beautiful in the ring!"

A waiter would approach the two, asking if the two made the decision for their meal. Vera quickly recited their order, with the waitress quickly leaving.

"Any plans for upcoming matches? Whether you win the world title or not?", Vera would ask afterwards.

Dr. Becker let out a soft chuckle as Vera went for a toast, taking her glass and clinking it against her date's glass. "To both of us being fabulous and beautiful in the ring... and maybe in a blue dress too," added Lilly, winking at Vera again before taking a sip of her wine. The blonde let Vera order their meal for her, offering a simple "Thank you" to the waitress as she left.

And then Vera asked a follow up question, and she let out a big sigh, eyes rolling up as she brushed some of her blonde hair back again. "...Yes. And I feel crazy for it," said Lilly with a small giggle, seemingly still conflicted about it in general, but mostly at terms with it. She looked back at Vera with a playful expression. "Obviously, keep it all quiet. Absolutely do not say anything, because it's supposed to be a secret, and if it gets out, they may pull me from it, and if it leaks to the dirt sheets, then I'll hold you personally responsible and I'll have to take back all of the lovely things I said about you tonight, and then probably regret whatever happens after dinner too," said Lilly Becker, making her serious request while also making light of it, as she oft did.

"...But since they were impressed with my performance in our match, and they want to throw more variety into the match, they have asked me to be in an upcoming Elimination Chamber match," said Lilly, closing her eyes and shaking her head with a mild laugh before adjusting her glasses. "Which is... again, just crazy to me. But I accepted and I'm equal parts not looking forward to it, but also intensely excited for it? If that makes any sense?" Awkwardly, Becker laughed again before letting out a sigh to conclude her thought process.

Vera giggled as her toast was returned, with Lilly adding more to it. With the order of food coming soon, the two fabulous women returned to their talk, Vera growing quite interested in the happenings in her date's bookings after their encounter:

"I'll take the secrets to my grave... after that, who knows...", Vera teased the blonde, though blushing as the Good Doctor suggested the things that were going to happen after this dinner.

As Lilly revealed her secret, Vera's reaction was positive... but to her shock, worry washed over her towards the blonde. She knew how brutal Elimination Chamber matches could be (even if she was yet to take part in one herself), but she couldn't deny it was a big opportunity for the blonde. Even if it wasn't the title itself, a match against 5 other women had to go a long way towards proving her worth further towards a potential title challenge.

"Perhaps the Good Doctor is a bit intimidated of taking on that many patients at once? Huhuhu... but I kid. You'll take them down with ease!", Vera would encourage Lilly with a warm smile!

Lilly Becker had a toothy smile at Vera's response, shrugging. "Thank you, Vera. I love that positive feeling, but I'm mostly just focusing on not being torn apart. So I'll just take survival first before worrying about the win," answered Lilly, winking at her date. She took another sip of her wine, rolling her eyes as the mused for both of them. "I'm preparing though... as much as one can prepare for something like this."

Then, to avert the discussion, the blonde psychiatrist held a hand out towards her blue-haired date, looking at her with intrigue. "What about you, Vera? What do you have coming up that I can leak to some dirt sheets?" joked Becker, sticking her tongue out briefly, but otherwise watching her with a pleasant smile for her answer.

”Huhuhuhu…”, Vera giggled, before adding to Lilly’s joke: ”Well, if you need help with training, don’t hesitate to give me a call.”, as she sipped a bit of wine, with Lilly asking a similar question to Vera:

”Hmmmm…”, the blunette mused. Unlike the Good Doctor, the Heavyweight’s future was a lot less clear in the company. She was not quitting! By no means… but the company hasn’t told her about her future matches:

”It’s difficult to say, really. LAW has been likely focused on putting match winners into the spotlight, while us losers are likely expecting the scraps…”, Vera would give a sad smile: ”That being sad… I want to at least try… I want to try and challenge for the Heavyweight title. I want to push myself more before the end of the year with the most difficult match imaginable, even if it’s so difficult, that I might not even win…” Vera would tell Lilly…
