An Unexpected Mentor (Gala Blaze and Carina Ricci)

“I see.” Carina replied taking it all in. For a moment she looked away. Closing her eyes she confessed. “To be honest Gala I don’t exactly have a family. There are some friends but’s that about it.”

Gala took all this in. "You remind me of my step/adopted brother Torra, he too had no family and my mother took him in, I trained him, and now I'm gonna train you, are you ready to the training I did when I was 15?" She grabs the ball and chain.

Being nervous of running with a chain ball around one of her legs Carina paused. On one hand she didn’t know how she is going to run wearing that thing. Yet on the other hand the Huntress noted the sincerity coming from Gala especially about the story of her stepbrother.

Almost a minute later Carina nodded and said. “Let’s do it.”

Gala smirked "excellent my new pupil" she puts the chain on her ankle,. "Ok..... ready..... set..... GO!" S hr said while starting the timer.

Carina attempted to set off but as expected the chain ball held her back. The young wrestler instead found herself dragging her feet. Every moment of it was agony. Biting her lips and sweating more the. ever before Carina forced herself to keep pushing. At the last half the west coast huntress collapsed face first.

Gritting her teeth and swearing to herself she crawled the rest of the way. When finally returning Gala she collapsed completely and panting heavily. “Let me die.” She moaned to herself, utterly spent.

Gala watched her preform, and laughed a bit on her comment, "I rememer when I said the exact same thing. Alright you did pretty good for your first run, take a hour break and we'll try again."

In perfect honesty Carina didn’t know if she had any more energy left. She choose to lay on the pavement, breathing in and out as the break started. Subsequently Carina looked up at Gala and said.

“Say Gala care to spar next week? If not do you know someone who can?”
