Ruby Rose vs Danielle Degardin: A lesson to be learned

DAYS LATER

Ruby sat in the locker room getting ready for her match. At first, she wondered how she even got here. It had to be because of bad luck. That had to be the case. What really bothered her was going to be the commotion surrounding this match, but the more she thought about it Ruby was able to calm down more. Regardless of how Ruby felt she looked to win this match. Ruby was going through some mental gymnastics over what her gameplan should be. "Maybe if I start slow... No that won't work... What if... That won't work either" Ruby said more nervously as she went on. She'd rather not be caught by some strong move Danielle has at her disposal. Ruby looked towards the clock and saw that it was nearly time for the match and she should get dressed. As Ruby was getting dressed she wished that Yang was with her now. It was at these moments where hat one-sided support was helpful, still though she knew Yang was probably in the crowd. Since she would not allow her in the locker rooms. Ruby just sighed then chuckled at the thought of Yang fighting the staff just to be here. That is so like her, heh heh Ruby said to herself chuckling. Now to psyche herself up she would try something her sister does in shadow boxing. In all honesty, Ruby thought she looked pretty dumb when she was doing it. It wasn't long after that she was called into the ring by the backstage crew.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN FROM ACROSS THE WORLD LET"S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!! WE HAVE A STANDARD MATCH FOR YOU ALL TODAY, ON THIS SPECIAL NIGHT WE HAVE A GRUDGE MATCH OF SORTS. BE CAREFUL NOT TO BLINK OR YOU WILL MISS THE MATCH, BECAUSE THIS WRESTLER'S GAME IS SPEED, AND WITH THAT IN THE RED CORNER STANDING IN AT 5'3 AND WEIGHING IN AT 110LBS WE HAVE RUBY "SILVER BULLET" ROSE"

With her announcement, Ruby made her way from backstage and onto the ramp. While on the ramp Ruby made sure to high five all of her fans. That was something she always looked forward to. The interaction with the fans. Once she made it to the ring and the beat would drop starting the chorus. That is when Ruby would go to the top rope to strike a pose. (God WHY did I go with this, Yang I knew this was a dumb idea. SIGH at least they are cheering for me)



Now Ruby is not the one to tout herself but her body was built pretty well, obviously nothing like her sister, or some goddess-like Pyrrha. But regardless the people were able to see the "silver bullet" so nicely built. Her midsection was nicely toned and her arms had some muscle on the. Ruby's legs, oh don't get the crowd started on Ruby's legs. Honestly, the support was a lot more than she was expecting. Ruby thought that Danielle would have the crowd in its entirety. AT least it made her feel like she was not alone After Ruby made her show around the ring she would head to her corner and wait for her opponent Danielle

Danielle had to sneer a little to herself even now, as she was standing in the locker room packing her things. She'd gotten here well in advance, of course. Someone like her obviously commanded the attention of the entire arena, and she wouldn't dare it be on anyone but herself. As a former model, Dani wouldn't be caught dead anywhere looking anything but her absolute best - and this was especially true tonight, where she had a certain irksome little upstart who needed to be put in her place. She'd shown up before the show had even begun, and it had taken herself about that much time to go about her routine, making sure her makeup was just so, and her hair perfectly coiffed. It was work, but that work was well worth it for the payoff Danielle was out for.

When she entered the ring, she wanted everyone to know who the superior woman, by any metric was - and that it was certainly not the bothersome girl who barged into her room during an important meeting, when she clearly had no time to spare for hecklers, and especially not hecklers who thought they could ever hold a candle to her. As she made the last few adjustments to her gear, Danielle stepped back and struck a pose in the mirror, quite pleased with the results. She looked marvelous - though, of course, she always did. Anyone out there would see that for sure.

"And introducing next to the ring, we have the queen herself, the most gorgeous woman to ever step into a LAW ring...at least, that's what she told us to say. Coming from Cannes, France to settle her disputes, at 5'7 and 125 lbs., DANIELLE DEGARDIN!"

As she stood behind the entrance, hearing the ring announcer's description of her, Dani turned her nose up to that little jab that had snuck in, but nonetheless, there were bigger things on her mind. When she actually got out there, everyone would see who was truly worthy of all the attention and admiration. Danielle stepped onto the ramp and tossed her head back over her shoulder as the lights shone down on her - and was met not with the cheers she was expecting, but boos, and the occasional chant of "YOU CAN'T WRESTLE!". And when she swore she had heard cheers for Ruby earlier, at that! This was an insult Danielle simply could not stand for, as she stomped a foot on the ground. "None of you have any taste-!" the Frenchwoman hissed, but her words hardly swayed their opinions. She scowled, storming down towards the ring.

Her entrance was ruined - and it gave her even more of a reason to hate Ruby, as she slipped in through the ropes to jab a finger at the smaller girl. "Listen, you-!" Danielle barked, showing a fury that seemed quite in contrast to her serene sense of superiority Ruby would have seen in the boardroom earlier. "You may get any crowd of idiots with only half a brain cell between the lot of them to cheer you on, but what matters is what happens here in the ring - and mark my words, I will show you your place!"

Ruby waited in her corner for Danielle. Obviously Ruby expected some big entrance, considering Danielle spoke above her weight class. That was when the announcer began to speak into her mic. Ruby took a deep breath knowing she was coming, but something struck her.

(Did the announcer throw a jab at Danielle?) Ruby thought to herself in amazement, it was crazy to think that a girl who commanded a room of reporters would have this happen. The jab actually did score some points with the crowd because they laughed. She eventually shook out of it when she saw Danielle coming out through the back. Now Ruby steeled herself for Danielle she possibly couldn't for what was coming up.

In very stark contrast to Ruby's entrance, Danielle was met with a roar of boos. Even some negative chants saying she can't wrestle. Ruby could have sworn she heard more profane chants behind all of the noise. Ruby couldn't help but smile a bit Ok this is good, the crowd is on my side. If they are saying she can't wrestle then something has to be up Ruby said as Danielle made her way to the ring in anger.

Now once in the ring, Danielle would come at Ruby verbally. Once she said her peace Ruby would respond You call them idiots but if they were cheering for you, you'd be saying the opposite. Also if "you can't wrestle" then maybe I'll show you your place Ruby responded to her opponent, when Ruby said you can't wrestle she said it in a chanting tone which prompted the crowd to chant again. Honestly Ruby didn't show it but in her head, Ruby was nervous as all hell when she smacked talked back.

In a formal setting, like an interview - particularly when it was among reporters from the fashion industry, where Danielle had established a name for herself - politeness and tact were the order of the day, and no one would dare mock the redhead to her face. But the same rules did not apply to wrestling fans - and as soon as Danielle made her appearance on the entrance ramp, they were quick to voice their opinion on her. It was not unknown to LAW's fanbase that Danielle had gotten into the business largely by virtue of her looks and her connections, and her matches hardly displayed the sort of athletic expertise they saw from her colleagues.

Danielle, of course, hated this. She stood in the ring, balling a fist and staring Ruby in the eye. At this point, she could hardly wait to give Ruby a piece of her mind, through the language of fisticuffs. It was bad enough that she had to mock her up to this point, but to take their side was practically unthinkable!

"STOP THAT-!" Danielle said suddenly, as the crowd responded to Ruby's issue of the chant. "You only say I can't wrestle because you have no appreciation for art, and fine taste!" Her words, of course, did little to dissuade them, and she turned back to Ruby, snarling under her breath.

"Oh, no wonder they like you!" Dani shot back. "You're the same sort of inbred, uneducated, unwashed filth that pollutes the air in this arena with their stench at this moment! Of course they would take the side of a fellow imbecile. But their taste is profoundly atrocious! All the women in this arena only hate me because they wish they were me, and the men only wish that their women were even half as gorgeous. Oh, silly me...as if any of you bumpkins would be here at all if you had a girlfriend!" The referee had stepped up to the two girls, inspecting each to make sure they were ready to fight and weren't concealing any foreign objects, and it was that that forced Dani to finally shut up. But she eyes Ruby all the same, staring daggers into her eyes.

This was something new entirely. Ruby was not used to having such a following here. Of course, she's had people cheer for her. But never in the sense that everyone was on her side. It was uncharted territory, but oddly, this did not make Ruby nervous. If anything it helped when Ruby bolstered herself.

The audience following her chant made her feel like Yang. A real show woman granted Yang is a hit or miss with crowds. Though when people like her they adore here. It was actually thanks to the cheers that Ruby was able to cancel out most of what Danielle said. Ruby was at least able to tell that Danielle was letting it rip with what she was saying.

With all of that aside Ruby took a deep breath and was able to feel comfortable with this match. As the ref stepped to Ruby and inspect her she followed directions and waited for the bell to ring. Now that was done and Ruby only took a normal stance with her hands out leaning forward

Well then I'll just show you otherwise

Even after finishing with her speech, Danielle would be remiss to not acknowledge that the crowd uniting in support for Ruby, and not herself, wounded her pride. She shot a few glares back at them, before letting out a frustrated huff as she turned back to the lightweight. That was another thing Danielle had to object to; that they were pitting her against a woman not even close to her side. How insulting did it have to be that they considered this pipsqueak a match to her?

Nevertheless, it soon came time for things to get underway, as Ruby settled into a stance. Danielle, too, met eyes with her before going to do the same, staring the girl down. "Oh, someone will be proven wrong, all right..."

*DING DING DING*

The bell rang, and the match was officially on. Dani, of course, didn't need the invitation. She already wanted to lay into Ruby, and she just needed the official permission to do so without getting in trouble for it. She charged head-on towards the girl, going to try and grab her by the head to throw her face-first into the ground!

Ruby would thank the crowd for standing by her, in her mind. In all honesty it made standing in the ring less scarier. That feeling aside the match had finally started and it’d benefit her if she was focused. Danielle would charge at Ruby full charge and try to grab her head. Instead what would happen is that Ruby would put Danielle in a contest of strength. She did this by grabbing onto her hands and pushing back. With this confidence she was sure that her strength is greater then Danielle Degardin’s. Evident in her actually pushing Danielle back

Sizing up Ruby, and comparing her own stature to the lightweight's own, Danielle was sure she had the advantage in a match like this. An underfed runt like Ruby surely wouldn't be strong enough to hold her back as she came charging in, and she would doubtlessly go down easily against the redhead's assault. It wouldn't take Dani much effort at all to prove her point.

Or so she thought, anyway. When she charged Ruby, and lined herself up to throw her into the mat, Danielle had a grin fixed on her face, already anticipating the collision. But instead, Ruby managed to catch her by the hands, and hold Danielle back! The ex-model gasped at the sight of such an upset; Ruby had actually met her with enough force to hold her in place. She was astonished that such a small girl could be so powerful.

But the surprise on Danielle's face soon turned to something else - pure rage, as she clenched her teeth and glowered at her foe. She did not enjoy being shown up, and she would get the last word in, one way or another. "So you think you're so good? Hmmph! Don't test me, girl..." She leaned in closer in the impromptu test of strength this had become, trying to force Ruby back as she clenched her teeth and groaned. However, she couldn't help but feel that Ruby seemed to have the upper hand; she was proving difficult to move, and Danielle could feel herself slowly but surely being pushed backward, inch by inch. As much as she felt it, though, Dani didn't want to believe it - and she shoved back harder at Ruby, hoping she'd prove herself wrong!

This was something likely never to be replicated again. Ruby was actually overpowering someone, Ruby would be lying if she said this did not feel nice. Even pushing Danielle back, she would channel some of her sister here and talk trash Come on Danielle I thought you were going to beat me Ruby said, making sure to keep it simple so that she wouldn't sound like a fool. That being said Ruby would actually let go of Danielle's right hand. Now that Ruby's hand was free she would ball it into a fist and aim at at Danielle's face. If this were to land Ruby would quickly transition into a side headlock. Holding Danielle's head against Ruby's

The very thought of being overpowered was an insult to Danielle, but the thought that Ruby would taunt her over it only served to annoy her further with the petulant brat she was dealing with. She was supposed to be proving a point - and if Ruby wasn't afraid of her, that would hardly do! She hissed through her teeth, trying to shove the girl back harder as she leaned in again. "I am-!" Dani shouted. But as she did, Ruby released her hand while Danielle was in mid-push, and without it to ground her, she was left stumbling forward off balance. The redhead's eyes went wide as she leaned over towards her foe - and straight into a swift punch to the face!

"GAAH-!" she cried, whipping her head backward in pain - or as much as she could, considering that Ruby would immediately grab her head and pull it against her side, causing the Frenchwoman to bend over forward off-balance. The arms of the smaller girl wrapped around her head were doing their part to impede Danielle's air flow, as she began to pant hotly in the prison they created, her face flushing red. "Let...go...of me-!" she muttered in between gasps, as she reached up to try and pull Ruby's arm off her head!
