Sirya vs. Long Shin II - Arena Battle

It all happened so quickly, and with such ease, that Sirya almost had to laugh. It seemed comical that she was able to get away with this, against such a larger and stronger foe. But Sirya's nimble body and carefully-trained agility had won things in her favor - and she certainly wasn't complaining. Darting through the clouds of dust kicked up by her opponent's flail, the panther was able to spring behind her foe and press her spear up against his throat. Slowly but surely, the strength left his body, as she was holding on tight. She was too close to winning now, and she wouldn't let go!

"Yeah, that's it...ya didn't see it coming, didja? Stupid!" Gloating with a smirk, Sirya pulled back harder, jerking her spear from side to side to further compress his windpipe. As the man fell to his knees, kicking up more dust from his landing, Sirya decided to kick things up a notch. She let go with her spear and pushed it against his head instead, as she brought her legs up to lace her thighs around his neck. Crossing her ankles in front of his chest, she clenched down with as much power as her small body could manage - but that was enough. Coughing and wheezing, the man keeled over in the dirt, and soon, his strength had left him.

Getting up from the unconscious man, Sirya dusted herself off and huffed, while the crowd erupted in cheers. Seeing such a small girl defeat a foe of superior size was exciting to them. But all Sirya was concerned about now was returning to the ranks of the warriors, as the next pair took their place.

This continued for some time, with fighters of all sorts and sizes stepping to the center of the ring and trading blows. The crowd cheered on the sight of each competitor, as well as the thrill of seeing them take down their opponents. Soon, the officiator stepped forward to make another announcement.

"The first round has concluded! Those fighters left standing shall advance to the second round...and may the strongest win!"

After another sound of a gong, the fighters fell back against the edge of the circle, taking a much-needed opportunity to rest and catch their breath before the battles began again. Sirya, however, glanced back over at Long from across the circle. He had proved himself unexpectedly successful, and he hadn't even taken on his tiger form yet. What more could he be hiding up his sleeves?

Even though Long knew Sirya's abilities first hand when it came to fighting, he was still shocked by just how quickly she dispatched her foe. Even though the guy was twice her size, she made it seem so effortless the way she dodged in and out of his attacks. The warrior fell to the ground with a thud and Sirya was left on top of his body and he heard her smack talking his unconscious body. When she exited the ring, Long proceeded to clap for her and said, "Very nice show there! I was rooting for you all the way." He flashed her a warm smile.

As the winning warriors surrounded the ring and the defeated warriors leaving in shame, Long couldn't help but notice that it was still an equal number of women left with the men, "The women here are definitely a lot tougher than the women on Earth..." Long said to himself. The officiator made the announcement that the first round was over and a bit of a rest period is now taking place before the second round.

Long caught a glimpse of Sirya looking over at him and he nodded towards her as if to say, "We got this". He silently studied the other fighters as they battled and had a good grasp on what they are capable of. With the second round starting, Long wanted to be in the first fight again and stepped forward, "I'm ready for my next opponent, who will give me the honor to face them in battle?"

Sirya looked back over at Long when she heard him praise her efforts, and even she had to show a small toothy smirk in response to that as she walked away from her opponent's prone form. That being said, her expression would soon turn to a more typical scowl. Even when she saw Long nod in her direction, the girl simply folded her arms with a cold stare. "Pssht...you're still goin' down, y'know." After all, Sirya was still determined to win this tournament, one way or another.

In time, the officiator spoke up again, and the second round began. The fighters began to close back into the circle in the middle of the ring, and it was then that Long's opponent would show themselves. It would turn out that Long's observation about the female fighters present would be quite prophetic, as the next of their number to step forward was a tall and slender woman, almost equal in height to Long, but with a lithe build and long legs clad in high sandals. Her dark hair was long and loose, parted to show her eyes staring dead ahead towards Long, and she wore a simple, short black tunic with gold bangles dangling from her wrists, her arms and legs lined with tattoos in spiraling designs. "Heheh...this should be fun..." she muttered under her breath as she raised her hands. It was then that Long would notice her choice of weapon; a set of long steel claws fitted over her fingers, which she curled like those of a wild animal as she stalked in closer to him.

Long looked around the arena when he said his words to see who would take on his challenge. To his surprise, one of the remaining ladies walked closer towards the center. She looked unarmed, just like him as she slowly approached, but then it became obvious what her weapon of choice was once she uncovered her hands. Thin, almost needle like claws extended from her fingers as she showed them off to him and the crowd around them. She then concealed them back and Long would lock eyes with her, "Very interesting... I'm expecting a great fight from the both of us." He would comment to her.

The floor underneath Long's feet would start to shift as he made his way towards the center as well. To loosen up his joints, Long would rotate his arms and shoulders before cracking his neck in both directions. She seemed to have gotten the upper hand in her previous fight pretty quickly, so Long made a mental note of that in his mind to be mindful of a furious onslaught at the very beginning. Being able to watch your opponent battle in this tournament was a sigh of relief to Long as he can try and identify his opponent's weaknesses before their battle even begins.

It seemed the clawed woman was just as intrigued by this matchup as Long was; as soon as she met eyes with him, she broke out into an even wider, almost sadistic grin as she chuckled to herself. "Interesting indeed, yes..." she hissed as she looked her foe up and down, still moving forward to him with measured steps. She leaned forward, in an almost hunched gait, as though she was trying to appear larger than she actually was and loom over Long. But he stayed where he was, unmoved.

The woman could see that he looked to be building a strong defence, and studying him. Indeed, he would likely make note of her lithe build, far from the muscled forms of the other fighters; it would seem she wasn't comparable in terms of physical strength or endurance. But if she had made it this far in the tournament she would doubtlessly have something to cover for that - and Long would see what soon enough; as soon as she was within range, she tried to shoot out for him with incredible speed, going for a quick palm thrust aimed at his chest!

This woman was no brute and the way she was studying Long made it quite clear that she had more brains than his first opponent. Along with those claws that she produced made a very deadly combo. As she approached, Long stood his ground and waited for her to make the first move, which wouldn't take long at all. Using all of her speed, she tried to hit him with an open palm strike to his chest, but her palm would only connect with air as she could feel a slight pain in her wrist. Long would still be standing in the same spot with only his right hand moving to block her blow. The sudden speed of his block wouldn't register until AFTER she felt the pain in her wrist.

"Not bad... But your technique still needs a little work." He would say to her before Long would use his speed again and reach over with his left arm to grab her wrist that she tried to palm strike him with, pull her in closer towards him with Long then extending his elbow out with his right arm and aiming the point of it right into her side!

A devious grin spread wider across the woman's face, her hair falling over her eyes as she chuckled maniacally with the anticipation of her blow connecting. But when that time actually did come, she had to pause a moment to consider what was happening in front of her. She didn't feel like she had hit anything - yet, her hand still hurt as though she did. Stepping back, her expression began to harden with concern as she shook out her aching wrist. "What...what was that-!?" she called out. "That can't be possible-!" Much to the claw-wielder's chagrin, it was becoming clear that although she used her speed as her greatest asset, Long had somehow outstripped her even in that regard!

Indeed, he would continue to draw on that speed, as he closed in closer on her to grab at her arm, pulling her in closer. The clawed woman hissed, baring her teeth towards Long in a savage snarl as she was once again in range of him. So too did she take the blow to her side, the impact leaving a stinging feeling in her ribs as her body buckled against the force and a shiver went up her back.

But if the woman knew anything about swift foes, it was that Long's speed wouldn't do him many favors if he was off his feet; if he didn't have anywhere to go. She would make it her priority to ensure that, as she tried to reach out with her legs and hook one of Long's own to try and sweep his footing out from under him!

The elbow strike landed clean against her side and Long could see the pain in her face from the impact. A small smirk appeared on his face as he let go of her wrist and got back into a fighting stance. The woman didn't fair as well as her body would buckle from the blow and Long thought he had another easy victory on his hands. That is where he was wrong though and his deduction would cost him. Long wasn't prepared for his opponent to go low on him and he felt his body become weightless and soon found himself crashing to the ground.

"Dammit... I got careless!" He would say out loud and worked to find a way to either get out of this and back up to his feet or try to work in an advantage on the ground. Thinking this would actually be a good opportunity to work on his ground game, Long sought the latter option and tried to tie his legs around hers. If he was quick enough, Long would go for a Figure Four Leg Lock onto his opponent and begin to squeeze hard on her prone ankle!

Even if the woman's first attempt at a strike didn't prove successful, she had more luck with her next move, of tripping Long up. Having caused him to falter, she went then to wrap her leg around his and swing the two of them to the ground. Feeling the thud of their bodies hitting the ground, she chuckled, flashing a toothy grin from behind the hair that covered her face. "Heheh...foolish mistake..." she muttered at Long's interjection.

However, even as they were down, Long wasn't at as much of a disadvantage as the woman had suspected. She was starting to push herself back up from where she had fallen when she suddenly felt Long's legs tie around hers, squeezing them hard! The pain she felt was enough to snap her out of her attempts to retaliate, and she instantly fell back on her stomach with a gasp. "W-What..!?" she hissed, but soon, her words were drowned out with groans as she struggled against the hold. She reached down to try and push at Long's legs, going for her first instinct, but getting off the ground only put more pressure on her, and she fell back flat! "Gahh-! What is this-!?"

The Figure Four Leg Lock was applied beautifully upon his opponent and judging by her reaction, she has never seen a move like this before. All the better for Long as more than likely now, she doesn't know how to counter it or escape. A slight chuckle would slide out of Long's mouth and he would say, "I hope you have strong legs." With that, Long began to apply as much pressure as he could with his right leg and arched his body upwards to make sure he had as much force as possible on it.

Long didn't want to break the poor girl's ankle, but if she doesn't submit to this, he doesn't have much of a choice. Looking over towards the person who created this whole tournament, he doesn't look like he is going to stop this fight anytime soon either. Long then looked back at his opponent and said, "Give up now or leave here with a broken ankle!" The bone in her ankle now was starting to make a noise and if Long either applied just a little more pressure or stayed in this hold for any longer, it was for sure going to snap in two.
