Kayla Grant vs. Thunder Ryuko

Now Ryuko was really getting on Kayla's nerves. As she heard her call back at her from the ring, the Californian pushed herself back up, shooting her foe a withering glare. "Oh, shut UP!" Ryuko was really firing up the competitive spirit in her, and more than anything else, she now wanted to win just to prove her wrong.

If being at the mercy of Ryuko's relentless onslaught of attacks wasn't bad enough, now Kayla was outside of the ring. Without even the rules to protect her, this could end badly - but, she thought, she would expect someone who took wrestling as seriously as Ryuko did to be above using dirty tricks. She supposed only the future would tell the truth of her character.

"Two!"

What was important now, though, was to get out of the way! Seeing Ryuko come sliding back towards her, Kayla rolled herself out of the way to dodge!

Ryuko's idea was a good one in her mind, and had it connected she was sure she would be in total control. Unfortunately for her when she came running her opponent moved leaving Ryuko to come crashing down on the outside of the ring! When Ryuko hit the ground she wasn't expecting such a hard impact and the wind was knocked out of her! She rolled to her side cradling her abdomen as she was coughing and wheezing while struggling to get her breath back!

"THREE!"

The count out was continuing and Ryuko had now put Kayla in a great position to take over the match, giving the smaller woman a great window to retake the momentum against Ryuko!

Just as Kayla had hoped, she managed to dive out of the way just as Ryuko was coming to meet her on the outside of the ring - and in the process, the landing had left her winded and vulnerable while Kayla rolled up to her knees. She smiled now, pleased to see that things were finally starting to go her way. She knew that if Ryuko could get her hands on her she would be in trouble - but then, the most important strategy for her would be to avoid getting caught at all costs!

Outside the ring or not, Kayla wasn't planning on doing anything too dirty. She still took wrestling seriously and respected discipline no matter the circumstances. But whether or not she did anything illegal, she could still use this opportunity to wear Ryuko down and ensure that when they did have to get back in the ring, she might be able to even the score a little. Running back for Ryuko, Kayla went to dive forward at the last minute, extending her arm to land an elbow drop against her!

"OOMPH!" Ryuko groaned as the elbow drop came crashing down hard onto her chest! She cradled her chest in her arms and kicked the ground in pain, clearly undone by her earlier move being countered. Kayla was piling it on, leaving Ryuko in a bad spot on the outside. She groaned and rubbed her chest, stunned by the additional impact of Kayla's elbow. Ryuko went from being in control to being at Kayla's mercy. She wanted to get up and pound on Kayla but her body just wasn't cooperating with her at the moment.

"FOUR!"

The referee's count did continue however, and Ryuko knew in the back of her mind the last thing she wanted was to lose by way of a count out!

Ryuko had, evidently, already been softened up by her impromptu landing outside the ring, so when Kayla came crashing down on top of her elbow-first it was only the icing on the cake. She was left stunned even further, which gave Kayla the perfect opportunity to start turning things back to her advantage!

"FIVE!"

Kayla took a momentary glance back towards the ref, noticing that she was at the halfway point of the time that had been allotted to her. But she wanted to have some impact while she was out here, to make sure that when the match proper resumed Ryuko wouldn't be fighting at her full strength. Getting to her feet, she went to pick up Ryuko by one wrist, raising her arm in order to slam it down onto her knee as she kicked it up for an armbreaker. If she could make that work, she would do the same for the other arm!

Ryuko groaned as her arm was grabbed, not knowing what was going on. However her arm was quickly hurting as the armbreaker connected leaving Ryuko howling in pain! She stomped her feet in place, feeling Kayla grab her other arm. This was enough, and Ryuko had the foresight to know what was coming. She shoved Kayla back to prevent the second arm breaker from happening, although all she could do was shake out her hurt arm, trying her best to recover! She was still in a compromised position but at least she was back on her feet now.

"SIX!"

Kayla smirked to herself as she felt the thud of Ryuko's bicep falling onto her knee as she kicked up at it. She was sure that she'd be feeling the effects of that through the rest of the match, and she made a note to make good use of that fact. With one arm already weakened, Kayla saw fit to go for the other one, hoping to have the same luck. However, Ryuko managed to shove her backwards before she could do that. The Californian went stumbling as Ryuko rose to her feet, putting some distance now between the two.

"SEVEN!"

Kayla looked back over at the ref, noticing how they only had a short few seconds outside the ring remaining. She bit her lip in focus and started to lower herself into a stance. Kayla would have to do something about this - and she charged towards Ryuko again, lunging forward as she came close to spear her back in through the ropes!

Ryuko was back up and unlike before she wasn't in a daze. As Kayla came rushing at her Ryuko stood still, waiting until the last moment to move out of the way! Kayla own momentum would be her own doing as she crashed into the ring, leaving Ryuko to get some offense in! however, with the count being what it was that would have to be very quick!

"EIGHT!"

Ryuko would grab Kayla by the head and smash it off the ring apron as hard as she could before rolling her back into the ring, following closely behind so she didn't get counted out herself!

Here, Kayla had been expecting Ryuko to still be weary enough to stand and take what she had in store for her - and she, perhaps, had grown too cocky in assuming things would be that easy for her, but it turned out that Ryuko still had some fight left in her. Unfortunately, that would have to be a fact Kayla learned all too late, as she only realized Ryuko had gotten out of the way of her spear once she was already in the air! Her eyes went wide with a gasp, and moments later she went crashing into the ring apron!

A scream of pain left her as her forehead made impact with the side of the ring, after which Kayla dropped onto her stomach with a trickle of blood running from where she had struck it. "G-Guhh..." she wheezed, her head still spinning. Of course, she didn't have long to contemplate her predicament, as Ryuko pushed her back into the ring, causing Kayla to roll onto her back, still clutching her head as she ended up staring up at the lights.

Ryuko got back up to her feet and grabbed Kayla by the arm to pull her to her feet. The two were already close enough to a corner so Ryuko just grabbed and shoved Kayla against it back-first. "Stubborn idiot!" Ryuko shouted to Kayla as she began kicking away at Kayla's abdomen, trying to stun her with strikes as she was stuck in the corner! Ryuko had big plans for Kayla once she finished up hammering her in that corner but for now her main focus was on trying to work away at Kayla, making her too hurt to fight back. Reek's plan was methodical and would pay off shortly or so she hoped!
