Molly Forster [D] vs. Mika Yuriko

As she held firm to Mika's legs, Molly balled her fist at her side and clenched her teeth, focusing her mental faculties on holding the position. She could feel that victory was within her grasp, especially as the referee came down to check Mika's endurance. She just needed to keep it in a little while longer, she told herself. Even as Mika grabbed the ropes, Molly didn't notice, keeping the hold locked in with her legs squeezing tightly against her fellow lightweight's own. It was going to take the ref's call to alert her.

"Rope break!"

"Huh-? Oh, right-!" Molly looked up to see her mistake, breaking away from Mika and scooting back before rolling to her knees. She blushed, embarrassed by making such a careless mistake, and not wanting Mika to get any wrong ideas. "Sorry about that! Just got carried away..."

All apologies aside, however, Molly still wasn't going to give up the fight. Keeping her eyes on Mika, she rose to her feet, running across to the ropes. She would then wait for Mika to get up herself, upon which she hurled herself off the rope towards her, trying to take her down with a hurricanrana!

Mika groaned a bit, as while she had succeed in escaping the painful figure four the damage was still felt as her legs were oh so sore. One thing was clear she'd need an ice pack on them when this match was over, but as she worked her way to her feet only to see Molly charge ahead with a head of steam as she went for a hurricanrana!

Crap crap crap crap! W-wait I know a counter, I saw this on TV! Never tried it in real life but I don't got options here goes nothing!

Thinking lightning quick, and drawing upon the hundreds of hours of wrestling TV Mika had experienced throughout her life, Mika would work to try and catch Molly as she went for the hurricanrana, if she could find the strength to resist being tossed down she could work to try and counter the move by holding her and then trying to sit on her to try and turn the hurricanrana into a boston crab attempt.

As she sprung off the ropes, Molly was sure it was now her time to shine. The rush of adrenaline she got in going airborne was one that she could recognize as things turning in her favor. After all, aerial moves like this were what she and her sister were good at, and she liked to think she had learned enough from Chelsea to take after her in this regard. Her smile grew wider, and she was already sure she'd be turning the tides on her foe...

...Only for Mika to grab her, halting her advance! She let out a gasp as she was taken by surprise, not expecting Mika to turn her own move back on her. However, Molly was still the larger of the two girls, and combined with her momentum, Mika would likely be staggered by the force of Molly crashing into her. Bringing her down into a Boston Crab wouldn't be too easy, and Molly was trying to pull away before things got too bad for her.

Indeed, Mika had the technique down for the counter hold attempt but even in a fellow lightweight match she was giving up a few pounds to her opponent which made the completion of the move that much more complicated.

Mika struggled a bit especially when Molly began to shift to try and fight her attempt as she bumped into her with the momentum also in her favor as she pulled away. At this point, turning it into a Boston Crab seemed ever unlikely...so Mika had to improvise, and in this case she turned to another wrestling classic she saw on TV as she would work to flip over while grabbing Molly's legs as she'd try a roll up pin flip to try and catch Molly off guard and go for a pinning attempt.

Molly was cutting it close, but she was still determined not to be taken down, even as Mika came bearing down on top of her with intent to put her away with a Boston Crab. Pulling herself out of the way, she managed to gain some ground just before Mika could apply too much pressure. Though she took a few heavy breaths from the exertion she was putting herself through in the heat of the moment, Molly still felt confident in herself. She was sure she could still win this.

But Mika still had a leg up on her, and she swung Molly over to the side. The Englishwoman landed on her back with a yelp of surprise before she could make her escape, and left herself vulnerable to Mika's advances in the process. At the same time, her leg was pulled up for the pin, and the referee lunged in closer to start counting the pin!

"One!"

"Hold on, I got it-!" Molly called out, not wanting to be taken out of the game so soon by any means. She tried to push a shoulder up as soon as she could to disrupt Mika's attempt.

"One! She got the shoulder up!" The referee called out as Molly's shoulder shot up before the count of two as Mika's body flopped off Molly and rolled a bit to gain distance. Mika had been panting as that sequence of counters had caused her to be momentarily out of breath as she needed a minute to pull herself together.

"M-man, come on Platinum. You got this." Mika said, referring to herself but her own self-giving ring name as she worked to try and stand back up as she aimed to move and face Molly before she could get up to beat her to the punch.

This had been a spirited contest, and the crowd seemed to recognize it actually cheering both girls for their effort to this point eager to see even more action.

Molly might have been distracted by Mika's attempts to pin her, but she wasn't about to yield to her for long. As soon as she got the shoulder up to break the pin, she watched as Mika rolled back, taking a few seconds to catch her breath before she would have to act again. Rolling to her knees, she brushed a few stray hairs away from her eyes, then started to get back on her feet.

Mika had gotten away from her now, and she was now starting to get back up herself. But Molly now found the strength returning to her, and she felt a burst of energy come to her just when she needed it most. She ran towards the ropes, hopping up on them in mid-stride to get some altitude. And without skipping a beat, she sprung straight back towards her opponent to try and hit her with a diving clothesline before she could act! "Haah-!"

"CREDIT CLOTHESLINE!"

However, it appeared that at the same time Mika had the exact same idea that Molly did, complete with one of her stylish but not polished ring names for the basic move, as she worked to run the ropes the opposite way of Molly to use as momentum to try and charge with a clothesline of her own with the aim to knock Molly down.

Naturally, she had not been aware Molly had thought of the same idea and the two lightweights charged and seemed destined for a collision with each other.

The two girls were practically acting in unison, their legs carrying them to opposite sides of the ring without either skipping a beat. Both were setting up quite similar moves. Molly heard Mika call out for her next attack, and she briefly turned her head over her shoulder to look in the direction of the shout she heard. Yet somehow, that wouldn't stop her. Even if she knew she was on a collision course, Molly figured that with the extra momentum she achieved from bouncing off the ropes on the way to her opponent, she would have the edge in this clash.

Undeterred by Mika's own clothesline, Molly hurled herself back towards her, arm held out as she sprung from the ropes. The diving motion Molly used in hopping off her perch would give her an advantage, surely - but if Mika was meeting her assault with a clothesline of her own, some of the impact would surely be absorbed.

Mika was not one to back down, not that she had a choice with the momentum she built up and while she didn't get as big a bounce off the ropes as Molly did but Mika tried to make up the difference but running at an even faster pace; making use of her being perhaps a bounce quicker than Molly as she tried to run at her with all she had.

And the inevitable collision soon came. As Mika would groan when she felt Molla's arm slam into her chest, and all she cared about at that moment was making sure she could strike Molly in the chest in the hopes to give her a good blow back before she would be forced on her own.
