Maria The Reaper vs Rose the Devil

It seemed that her presence in LAW was a commodity the higher ups were not going to release anytime soon. Her role to begin with was managing a stable of jobbers and misfits. It did not take long for her to be roped into her first official match. Attendance rose, tickets were selling out, so it was only natural that she would be called in once again to fight. TO be honest, her own reservations quickly washed away as she made her way down the ramp, measured strides hidden under her cloak as she made her way to the ring. Rolling under the ropes, she tossed the cloak aside, showing off her tight fitting vinyl attire, adorned with day of the dead iconography and imagery, while also showing off her toned form.

She marched to the center of the ring with purpose, gesturing to the ramp as if beckoning her newest prey to make themselves known

It seemed like only days since her first match here. One of the more annoying and infuriating endeavors she had ever been through. That ridiculous horse laugh still rung in her head, even after the fight was over. Overall, it did not give her a very good impression on what the fighters here were all like.

She took a last drag from her cigarette while glancing towards the stage. Another fight, so soon. She had heard nothing about this woman, but she was not expecting a whole lot. She put the cigarette out before flicking it aside, and starts to make her way towards the stage.

When she walks out onto the stage, she was met with a mixture of boos and cheers. People seemed happy with how she took care of that annoying cowgirl, but at the same time, others didn't like her overall attitude. She continues her way down the ramp, her boots clacking against metal as she makes her slow trail towards the ring, hiding her eyes with her hat.

It wasn't until she walked up the ring steps, and stepped in through the ropes did she finally reveal her face to her opponent. She glances at the woman with a mild expression of disdain, and took her hat off, setting it on the corner post.

"Another gringo to put down..." She muttered to herself, but loud enough for her opponent to hear.

Maria's muscles tensed slightly at the woman's comment, a little incensed at the gall of calling her a gringo. Stepping up to Rose, her silver eyes gleamed from the holes in her mask, "Be very careful on whom you insult senorita......or you will live with the pain...and the regret, when I leave you on your back here in this ring.

She wasn't a fan of the woman's attitude, despite appreciating how in shape she was. Her opponent clearly took this seriously, and came for a brawl, not just a match. Something she could respect.....albeit begrudgingly.

Rose paused when she heard the woman's voice through her mask. That accent. It didn't sound American. She stares at her for a moment, after she was threatened. She rests a hand on her hip while looking at her.

"...You're not from here, are you? De dónde es? " She asked her, watching her quietly. Her eyes wandered over this masked woman. She looked to be around her age. She looks her over, noticing something with her left leg. Likely a past injury. She glances back up to Maria's eyes, her eyes dulled from a hostile life glancing at Maria's silver hues while she sizes her up.

Maria leaned against the corner post, "Guadalajara. Igualmente?"

She noticed the gaze wander up and down, as if trying to scope out any particular weakness. She could already feel the ghost pains from her injury years ago, even though she was in perfect ring condition. Still......the brace probably wasn't helping cover up a weakness, even if it helped her keep mobile in the ring. She drew herself up, not wanting to appear intimidated, even as the imposing Reaper of Lucha Libre.

Her eyes twitch slightly at her answer. "...Guadalajara." She answers. This was getting interesting. A woman like her, south of the border, sharing the same ring as her. Though she seemed to have taken a somewhat flashier walk down life than Rose did.

"...Decirme tu nombre, señora." She requested as the ref comes between them to ready them both up for the fight.

The name of the town made Maria's head jerk up slightly, eyes narrowing. She looked to be around her age.....so why had she not met this Rose before? TO be fair.....it did look like they took two completely different paths in life to lead them here, so the odds of them having met as children were minuscule at best.
"La Parca......that is what you shall call me..... Impress me...and I may tell you my name......." she answered, cracking her neck as the ref finished checking the pair for weapons before calling for the bell.

Rose's lips curled into a slight smile when she heard the name. La Parca. The reaper. Death. Quite the coincidence.

"That's your ring name, hmm? Well then..." She begins, and brushes her thumb across the bridge of her nose, before raising her fists up, ready to start.

"You can call me La Diabla." She responds. She wasn't usually one for theatrics, but this was too interesting for her to pass up. "Going by our ring names alone, you should serve me." She points out, while slowly stepping around the masked wrestler.

Maria held her chin high, never backing down from the confident face her opponent had on display while giving her own ring name. The Devil.......how appropriate, given her demeanor and badass attire. It seemed this woman grew up fighting in the streets, and wasn't likely to give an inch.

Sounds like fun.

Maria backed away from her, squaring off in a ready stance, "I serve neither above nor below. You both just crawl and beg for the souls I take. Seems quite the opposite from my view....."

"Hmmmmm...." Rose hums. She didn't quite have a retort back to that one. "We'll just have to see then." She said while cracking her knuckles. This might actually be somewhat enjoyable.

Before another word could be spoken between them, the bell rang to start their match!
