Mara Ashford vs. Amy Henderson - Whatever It Takes

Thanks to Amy's headbutts, Mara had to release the blonde from the bearhug, and she was disoriented thanks to those headbutts that she struggled to stand on her feet. This allowed Amy to capitalize on her current condition by closing in, raising her fist before attacking her with a stiff punch to her head.

"GUGHHH!!!"

Mara took the strike, and she almost fell backwards. But she would plant her feet on the mat, preventing herself from falling. She could tell that Amy was going for a second attack, and this time, she would bring up her arms, looking to shield herself from the incoming strike as she would also try to retaliate with a straight toe kick to the blonde's exposed belly!

Amy's first strike landed squarely on Mara's face, causing her to reel backwards. With the success of the first hit spurring her on, she would raise her fist again and send it a second strike to the head. This one had much less success, however, as Mara put her guard up and blocked the incoming attack. Her fist hit Mara's arms and bounced off.

But that was not all that Mara did. After she blocked Amy's attack, she sent a stiff toe kick right into Amy's exposed midsection. It sunk in pretty easily, and caused Amy to double over and clutch her stomach in pain.

"AUUUGH!" She let out from the hit.

The crowd cheered as the two fighters had their back and forth exchanges, as it made them hopeful that the match was starting to heat up!

Mara managed to hit at Amy's stomach with a toe kick into her belly, though she was still pretty disoriented after taking some hits from her blonde opponent. Seeing Amy doubling over before her, Mara decided to grab onto her head and pull her head closer, looking to clamp it between her thighs, setting her up for a power move of her own.

After putting Amy into the standing headscissor, Mara would then bend down to grab onto the blonde's body, looking to heave her up before throwing her down onto the mat with a snap powerbomb, sending the blonde back first onto the mat!

Amy had been stunned by the kick to the midsection, which left her unable to counter Mara as her short-haired opponent pulled her head between her legs. Once her head was clamped in between Mara's thighs, she felt her opponent wrap her arms around her and pull her up into the air. She felt the air whiz past her on her way up. Suspended up there for a moment, it wasn't long before she was sent downwards towards the mat, hitting the mat with a large THUD!

"GAH!" she let out as her back hit the mat hard. She bounced up a bit after the impact, only to then come to rest on the mat, splayed out and breathing hard. She honestly hadn't expected Mara to be capable of such a power move, but her opponent had proven that to be wrong. Her body was hurting again, and she needed to yet again regather herself, lest she be put out of her misery.

She couldn't afford to lose this match, not like this!

Throwing Amy down onto the mat with a snap powerbomb, Mara breathed out heavily, feeling herself exerting a bit much of her strength, though she still could go on. Seeing Amy on the mat, Mara decided that the blonde needed to stay down in order to give herself enough advantage over her. But for the time being, she shouldn't exert her strength too much, at least not yet. She needed use a much simpler move in order to chip away at Amy's defense, weakening her.

Standing in front of the downed Amy, Mara would then reach out for her legs, holding them by her ankles. And then, she would start rolling her over onto her stomach while still holding onto her legs. From there, she would place herself on the blonde's back, bending her body as she would clamp her legs under her armpits, putting her into a Boston crab. While the submission hold might be a simple one, applying it correctly could deal quite a tremendous damage on one's body.

While Amy was busy collecting herself on the mat, Mara began to lock the blonde-girl in a Boston crab. First, she grabbed the ankles, then she flipped Amy over, then she locked it in. Amy's body bent backwards in an angle that could only feel worse than it looked. "AAARRRGGGH!" she screamed out as she flailed around, blinding grabbing for ropes that were way too far away.

As Amy was busy taking a trip to pain town, the ref came by for a visit, in which the question of her submission was asked. She answered with a resounding "NO!" as she continued to struggle in the hold. After a few moments of unsuccessful flailing and a reversal attempt that really got her nowhere, she did the only thing she could think on at the time: push forward.

Putting her strength into her upper body, she would attempt to begin pulling both girls towards the ropes in front of her. It would be a long and painful process, more than likely causing plenty of damage to her body while she was at it. However, unless Mara changed things up or did something else, Amy would have the determination to crawl all the way to the ropes to grab them. She would call for the rope break upon getting there.

Trapping Amy in the Boston crab, Mara could tell that the hold had dealt quite a number on the blonde, and she would keep applying pressure into the hold. Even so, Amy still got enough fight left in her that she then struggled to move herself towards the ropes, dragging Mara with her. "Nghh..." Mara grunted when she was brought along, and she knew that the moment Amy touched the ropes, she would be forced to let go of the hold, letting her free.

Still, she would keep applying pressure into the hold before Amy eventually reached the ropes, in which the referee would instruct her to let go of her opponent. Nodding, Mara would release Amy's legs, letting her go from the Boston crab before stepping away from her, waiting for her to get ready.

Upon stepping away, Mara would think of what she would do next. Hopefully, the Boston crab had weakened Amy enough that taking her down would be an easier task for her.

Amy finally managed to make it to the ropes, getting the much needed relief that she so desired. But the damage had been done. Her body had been through the ringer just in the time it took to get herself over to the ropes. Sure there had to have been another way to have gone about this? Even if there was, Amy wasn't thinking clearly enough to make that sound decision on her own. That was just one of the casualties of wrestling, really.

Amy clung to the ropes as she did her best to let her aching body rest. She knew that she would have trouble standing up if she tried right now, so she continued to hold on to the ropes. She knew it was a bit cowardly, and she wasn't fond of there being a break in the action, but she couldn't do much about it.

Eventually, the aching began to dull a bit and Amy ventured that she would at least be able to start standing up. Assuming Mara wasn't planning an attack of some sort, Amy would begin to use the ropes to pull herself up to her feet, slowly, methodically, and carefully so as to keep her balance.

Mara would wait for Amy to get back up onto her feet, watching her using the ropes to pull herself up. She considered attacking the blonde while she was recovering, but she thought that she wanted to have another clash with her again, and she wanted to face her head on.

Seeing that Amy had gotten herself back up onto her feet, Mara would get herself into position, taking a stance with her hand extended out, preparing herself for another lock up with the blonde. She would beckon Amy to come to her while at the same time, her mind started racing as she would try to come up with a trick to take her down. For the time being, she would wait to Amy to close in and get to grapple with her.

Amy managed to get to her feet without any opposition. It made little sense to her, given that this would be a prime opportunity to get some free hits in. That only made her more suspicious of what Mara had planned. She was a bit wobbly, but managed to keep her footing. Much like Mara, her mind was racing. The only difference was, Amy was trying to think about all the ways that Mara might try something sneaky.

To be fair, Mara hadn't actually done anything too underhanded yet, which made Amy doubt that she was actually planning to do something devious. Maybe she was just trying to be respectful? Either way, Amy knew that as of this moment, she wasn't going to win a head-on clash with Mara due to her body being in the mess it was.

She reached into Mara's grapple, looking to once again tangle with the short haired girl, but would be thinking about lunging in for a spear if things started to go south. Of course, given how hurt she was, it was pretty clear that possible spear would be slower than normal.
