Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
Sundeck of the Pelican, early in the morning:
A last little yawn escaped the lips of Domino before she stepped out into the sunny morning, finally leaving her captain cabin behind for the day.
As an early bird, she was already clad in her pirate captain´s uniform, a fashionistas dream in black, gold and a little blue with a fitting pirate hat. Usually she did not parade around in her full uniform on her ship, but today was not an ordinary day. Because beside it being also Rusev day, it was the day her auditions for new applicants for her crew had started. Of course she would not call it job hunting but rather shanghaiing new water rats if asked.
Folding one of her soft boots over the other after sitting down in a comfy black custom made armchair with golden pirate sprays and linings before glaring at the ocean for a moment while typing a little absent on the display ingrained in her chair, with a resume showing up on the screen almost immediately. That special applicant hat piqued her interest. A hitwoman for hire with a business card?` That was someone she just had to provide a job interview for.
Not wanting to lose someone so interesting early, Domino had sent out one of her limousines to pick up said person. Suddenly her gaze wandered to the docks to not miss the arrival of her guest.

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
Roni Mancini was sitting, looking bored inside the limousine. She had spent more time in one than people would expect, and not just in childhood. Limos were private, and people who would hire as a Hitwoman had the money to spend on a limo. She, naturally, thought it was a total waste of cash. But it wasn't her cash to waste. Still, the worst part about this was she decided to wear her suit. Was there anything on this planet worse to wear than a damn suit? You send a limo, you get the suit. That's how it goes. At the very least, if Roni sometimes came across as unhinged sometimes, she could be professional. Enough. Professional enough. She even tied her hair back! What a bargain this pirate princess or whatever was going to get.
Eventually the limo came to a stop and her door was opened up. Mancini stepped out, a first awkward step as she was also wearing heels (another rarity for her), and she used the door to steady herself. "For Christ sake... This chick better make it worth it," muttered the Italian, huffing a sigh. She then futzed with the bottom of her skirt, trying to get it just right, or right enough that she cared to make it, but she walked over and started looking around for the most obvious direction to go.
Oh.
A giant freaking boat. Yeah, it's probably that. Roni then made her way to the ship, ready to talk to Domino Drake, or whoever would speak for her.

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
*Oh.*
Someone left the limousine she had send to drive her newest potential employee. It was pretty clear that this was not exactly a lady when she took a tumbling step out of the car. But else wise, anything was where it belonged as far as she could see.
Her free hand would streak over the armchair of her seat while her mind drifted a little bit away in an attempt to see Roni in a sticky disarray with her clothes strewn around in the captain cabin. This was giving her first steward, a blond beauty with a wild mane, the chance to greet her guest and lead her over the boarding ramp and point her to the sundeck where Domino was already waiting.
Greetings, Miss Mancini. Take a seat please.
She offered a friendly greeting to the other girl while pointing to a copy of her own but technically unequipped armchair sitting right in front of her own chair.
Can I offer you a refreshment?

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
Roni Mancini walked her way through the entrance of the ship. She had to admit, it looked pretty snazzy. The Hitwoman knew that this Domino chick had to be loaded for all of this. She briefly wondered how she got so rich, but then immediately did not give a shit. She had money. That's really all that mattered. The Italian was greeted by a blond girl, seemingly happy to see her. Roni hated talking to the little people.
The Italian went to the seat pointed out to her and sat down on it, crossing a leg over the other and without even looking at the steward, she waved a hand and said, "Yeah, yeah. Bourbon something. Thanks." The words came out more dismissive than anything. She was never much one for manners, as the job never really called for that. Roni leaned back in her chair and turned her attention to the woman in front of her, smirking confidently. It was time to pitch and put on the show. She enjoyed it sometimes, because it would likely be more of a challenge this time than someone just being desperate. She may actually have to sell her on this. "So, are you the Domino Drake who is so fortunate to be looking for me? I'm only assuming because I doubt you give anyone else that fancy get-up and the super chair." Roni grinned, gesturing towards her, in general, and her apparent fanciness.

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
Domino had just waited and seen the scene unfold before her own eyes while her steward did her job and filled in a rare Bourbon into the waiting glass of Roni before disappearing under deck. Obviously not exactly a team player, pretty dismissive with people she only had taken a brief glance upon. Then the Bourbon choice, a heavy drink for the morning hours. Surely this would not be an easy piece of negotiation, but it was promising from here.
I am Domino Drake.
She declared with confidence and a nod while her light wine rolled a little bit up and down in her glass.
And you´re wrong. I give everyone that catches my interest with an interesting job application a treatment of this kind. Still I appreciate that you moved out so early on obviously shaky territory.
She added with a little smirk, letting it out in the blue if she meant Ronis movement on high heels or the waves that moved the ship.
You have business cards stating your profession. A pretty bold move that netted you this interview. How does this work for you, regarding the police force?

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
Roni had taken the glass and flipped the steward a sloppy salute in order to 'thank' her. Then she took a sip, nodding and looking impressed by it. "Good shit," she muttered before taking another sip of it. The Italian liked her bourbon whenever she could get it. Then the purple-haired babe looked back to the apparent captain. She gave her a strange look for a moment after her small joke, then snorted out a short laugh. She let her finish before speaking again though.
As Domino did talk though, Mancini took the moment to take off her heels and drop them down beside her. "Yeah, first of all, screw these things. Am I right? The hell do they make shoes for anyway that people can't walk in?" said Roni, chuckling to herself. "Now, considering the police force... Don't consider me an actual hitwoman in a traditional sense. I'm not going out there killing people and stuff like that. I have a little too much sense for that. But what I do is take care of people in less-lethal means. You need someone beaten up? I'm there. You need a message delivered? I'll be happy to. Need somebody humiliated, and I would love nothing more. The reason nobody goes looking for you is because if you do it right, and you're persuasive enough, nothing comes of it. Especially if you're running in the circles I have." Roni then grins, taking another sip of her bourbon and giving Domino a sly look. "Besides, I'm a freaking wrestler. So if anyone asks about the Hitwoman thing, it's a nickname. Nothing more."
Roni Mancini then rolled her neck and got more comfortable in her seat, looking completely calm to be doing this interview.

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
That explanation was pretty simple and still quite logical. Surely it was still not very nice when an overeager cop pulled you over and would arrest you just because he had some vague hint about having cornered a member of organized crime or something. Enough places were like that.
Her eyes would follow the motion of Roni when she pulled her shoes off. Not exactly a very ladylike behavior and basically crushing dress code rules, but quite catching the attention of Domino. Roni had such gorgeous legs. And nice shoes, both things scoring points with the pirate captain.
"I like my female guests wearing shoes like that, at least when they arrive. and when things get more private."
She commented the bold move with a little sultry interest in the voice before going back to business.
"Good to know about your work code. As I was about to explain anyway, I am not a mob boss or something and definitely not looking for a brutal sea wolf who only brings back a heap of crushed bones when I sent her out to retrieve or subdue someone for me. I would rather say that I could use the service of a Cormorant fisher. I want them bended and subdued, but not broken and deformed."
She explained, narrowing her eyes a little while looking for the facial impression of Roni to see how she felt about that and not about what she would say to maybe just please her and earn a fat paycheck.
"Are you able to do that, Miss Mancini?"

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
When Domino made her sultry comment, Roni stifled a chuckle. She knew she was hot. And hell, Domino Drake was damn hot too. But she always found little flirty comments like those hilarious, if only because Mancini herself was always more direct with things. But she nonetheless kept it together to keep listening contently, periodically sipping her bourbon. When Domino mentioned the Cormorant fisher, she gave her a very brief look before going back to listening. When she concluded her speech, Roni just shrugged her shoulders and smirked.
"Listen Domino, I don't know anything about Cormier fish or whatever, but what I do know is how to follow orders. What you want, you get, if the money is right, of course. I'll even pick up your freaking dry cleaning for you. I can be as gentle or as rough as you want me to be. What's the point of offering my services if I'm just going to do it whatever way I want, you know?" Roni explained it simply, finding it not even really a question at all. The Hitwoman then switched what legs she was crossing in an attempt to get more comfortable, then took a moment to wiggle and tug at her skirt again.

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
"What´s the point? The point of my question is that some people have principles and methods you can´t easily buy or change with money. Just because people are people. Or it could have been that you are a specialist who can easily deliver me a target with a heavy liver damage but know jack squat about security systems. Useful in general, but not for everyone if you know what I mean."
She shook her head lightly when she had to remind herself that not everyone would understand her sea stories about Fishers and Sea Wolves while answering the question of her guest with visible enjoyment. Roni was kind of hard to read but if Domino had to categorize her, it would have been a really smart Gorilla with a taste for alcoholic fruit who knows the sign language but is still able to topple a jeep if the need arises. Very interesting.
"Which other services could buy me my money from you beside your primary work?"
She then asked before taking a sip of her wine.

Re: Pelican Bay, shanghaiing an Italian
Roni simply nodded and sipped her drink as Domino spoke, waiting until she completed her tiny speech before smiling and speaking up. But it was a smile to hide just how much she really didn't care about the reasons or negotiating in general. But she could at least fake it and go with it to appease her, because she seemed like the type to really enjoy listening to herself talk. "Yeah, yeah. Like a tiger with stripes situation," added Mancini, just trying to sound invested in the conversation at hand. "Yeah, I get you. No worries. I do what you want, no problem."
Then Drake posed her question. A simple one, but one that Roni Mancini just wanted to barrel through, knowing it was necessary but still just an annoyance. She took a deep breath, forcing another smile and started to speak at a more excellerated manner. "I do beatings, muggings, threats, discussions, pre-match attacks, post-match attacks, injuries of all shapes and sizes, humiliations, deliveries, pick ups, escorting, bouncing, negotiations, training and working out if I'm so compelled to." She then sighed, twisting her lips in thought before going back to her smile. "Just give me money and I'll do it there for you, Drake," she summarized succinctly, just trying to make her point to the captain.
