Melody and Domino - An Encounter in the Gym

"ONE!"

"TWO----!", Melody shouted before Domino twisted himself to the side, breaking the pin.

Melody audibly clicked her tongue, and let Domino go. For a second, she actually wanted to follow up on the suplex, and hit Drake with another move...

...before slowing down, and looking to the side, seeing 3 people watching the spar. That's when she remembered that it was, in fact, a spar. Giving Domino a second to get to his feet, Melody would go opposite to the corner she was in a second ago.

In the meantime, Melody would remember something from earlier in the spar, and would ask her partner about it:

"Were you seriously afraid to hit me in the boobs back there?"

Domino is bracing for the continued attack, his mind working faster than his body at how he's going to counter it and turn things around again. But it doesn't seem to come. He twists to the side again, rolling a little away from her to get to his hands and knees. Seeing her backed into the corner, he blinks.

"Wha?"

That was meant more for the lack of attack than the question she posed. The question registers shortly after, however.

"Afraid..? No."

He gathers himself to his feet and shakes his head quickly, scattering his bangs. Naturally, they fall right back into place, despite their dampened condition with sweat. "Didn't seem right. Like a cheap shot. Disrespectful," he explains as he backs himself towards the center of the ring. His hands lift, fingers splaying, daring her to join him again. But those amethyst eyes are focused keenly on her, the streamlined muscle in his glistening frame tensed and ready for her.

It's a friendly spar, but he intends to make her pay for not pressing that opening. The people he's paired against in the ring are all too often not even a workout. That's the level of disrespect he puts up with at his home federation. But Melody's demonstrated her resilience in bouncing back from everything he's put her through so far, and has held true to the tenacity he'd expected of her. She's his workout. He's going to get the most out of this. Granted, without going overboard.

It doesn't mean he can't keep things light in other ways, though! "I mean, it's not like this is a situation that's come up a lot for me!" Beat. "Unless you count fat dudes. Those are fair game."

Melody couldn't really argue with Domino on his point. Attacking a woman's chest wasn't a really nice thing to do in a match, even between women. And that's despite the fact that Melody has delivered quite a share of Knife Edge Chops in her career...as well as partaking in a match that...devolved into something else.

Still, she was of a mind that gender shouldn't matter in any match, be it mixed or otherwise. Obviously, she wouldn't want to have her modest chest be the target of her opponent's attacks all throughout the match, but a chop? That was nothing. However, she did snicker at his fat guy joke, and she had praise for Domino and his gentleman-y ways.

And as she saw Domino eager to get back into the match, she would raise her hands, and take her stance as well. This spar was proving to be better than she had expected, and she couldn't ask for anything more...well, except actually managing to pin Domino for the 3 to prove that she was better.

As she and Domino would near the center of the ring, Melody would start with a simple right jab to Drake's face!

Slapping a woman's jugs around might get him fans, Domino acknowledges it. But are those the kinds of fans he wants to really push for? The cheap thrill sort? He'd be a hypocrite if he didn't admit he played to them a little - he's aware of his looks, and he plays it up. But this feels different! He just can't reconcile it with his conscience.

His mind remains focused on moving forward, though. He intends to bring her down decisively. She's made a great showing for him and their small audience, but he means to fight. And seeing her arms raise as well, he nods and prepares for a fresh lock-up.

Only that's not what she does. She fires a punch into his face, forcing his head to snap back. He takes a defensive backstep and blinks at her. There's a look of confusion on his face for a second - just a second - before he's suddenly bearing in on her, aiming to his firm bicep beneath her chin in a fierce wrestling uppercut.

After Melody's punch, Domino appeared confused over the move. It took her a second to realize that Domino likely expected a lock-up rather than a punch. She almost wanting to pause and apologise over the stiff strike, before Drake suddenly launched his arm at her chin for an Uppercut!

Melody yelped in pain, and took a step back, holding her aching jaw, before looking at Drake with fire in her eyes and launching at her sparring partner, spinning her entire body on her left foot to try and deliver a Spinning Heel Kick to Domino's jaw to repay the favour!

It's been an unusual spar, to be sure. Domino hasn't been able to find a consistent tone between them. They start intense, then she asks about his attacks. Then she's coming in intense again with stiff blows. So screw it. He's assuming she's going to keep stiff until he either pins her or forces her to submit!

That look in her eyes tells him he's making the right assumption. Her body spins, and when the leg whips at him, she'll find his head is no longer where it's supposed to be! He springs from his crouched position, hoping to take the wind out of her sails with a punch aimed to sink into her belly.

Melody was surprised at how Domino's quickness, as her foot found nothing but air on it's intended target. She had no time to dwell on that, as Drake would send her a harsh punch to her stomach!

Stepping away, Melody doubled down and coughed over the stiff shot to her belly. Trying to ignore the pain for just a moment, she regained her posture as quickly as possible, and leaped at Domino, turning her body in the air to smash her leg against his head with a strong Enzuigiri!

Fist sinks into stomach, and Domino's ready to capitalize on the opening.

If she's shooting to impress him, she has. She's already showing signs of recovery, and he's not holding back on those shots. He wouldn't expect this of most opponents, much less a girl he has some size advantage on. Hats off to her. He'll even have to let her know he was right in his initial beliefs about her after everything's settled. But for now, it means he has to step things up even further. He won't risk hurting her - actual wrestling matches aren't worth that, much less a spar. But she's going to make him get right on the edge of it, he suspects.

That's a new kind of stress. He has to stay a bit more in tune with her body and how it's reacting to his shots. Not that he wasn't already kind of paying attention to it already, but now for other reasons.

Domino grabs for her shoulders, intent on driving his knee into her stomach to begin weakening her core further. But only fingertips graze her shoulders before she springs into the air, taking him by surprise again! Her leg cracks against his skull, leaving him in a standing daze. He drops to his knees, then finally falls to his side. "Nnh.."

With a satisfying sound, Melody's leg hit Domino at his head, finally managing to down her sparring partner after the exchange of blows! Melody valued her image as a striker, and was determined to not lose as many striking contests as her body would allow her, regardless of it being during sparring or a match.

With Domino on his knees, Melody thought it was time to start bringing out her heaviest moves for the spar. Getting Drake's head under her arm, and grabbing his trunks to lift in the air, only to bring him down on his head with an Impaler DDT!

Domino was already on his way down to the mat. But his progress is halted by Melody intervening, pulling his head under her arm. He's grabbed and hoisted, vertical. His mind is still reeling from the enzuigiri, and has no way of really processing what's happening to him yet. But the sensation of his head spiking against the mat isn't lost on him.

He hits the mat and immediately ragdolls, splayed out on his back. Sweat-glistened chest and abs rise and fall heavily, eyes shut, mouth hanging open. His head is pounding, and he's attempting to process what's going on as quickly as he can. Two hard shots to the head in succession isn't doing him any favors.
