Noelle Silva was used to PPVs, as this was her third straight year participating in this very event. That fact, along with its relevant context, was the source of the frustration which served as Noelle's foremost emotion. Rather than the excitement, determination, or nervousness that is more commonly associated with participating in an event and on a stage such as this.
The stage was Noelle's problem. She was fighting on the Undercard today. Two years ago, as a rising star, she had stepped onto Fight The LAW's main stage against Thereisa Niedermeyer, then one of the faces of LAW's Heavyweight Division. And Noelle won. Last year, Noelle had second billing only to the Openweight Title fight when she stood as challenger to Annie Clark's Lightweight throne. While Noelle may not have won that battle, she had certainly come closer to taking Annie's belt than anybody else had during her reign. Considering how the match started and the way in which it turned on her, Noelle had full confidence that if she got a second chance at Annie, a third match between the two would be Annie trying to reclaim her title.
So why was Noelle reduced to the Undercard? Well she could at least be assured that it wasn't from any failing of her own. There was no question that she still stood among LAW's top echelon. But in LAW, both wrestlers had to be of Main Card caliber to fight there. Emi Star was decidedly not of that level. Which then raised the question of why Noelle was being made to fight her when she could be performing on the biggest stage. Noelle's Music: Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
If the answer to such a question was going to come, Noelle's music coming on was a sign that it was nearing. Noelle imagined she'd need to meet and face Emi in order to learn why she had been brought down to the Undercard in order to fight her. Noelle gave little attention to anything other than the ring as she approached it. She could actively attempt to offend the crowd, and her popularity and reputation would still see her heavily favored over Emi.
Noelle stepped into the ring, but as her second foot touched down onto the canvas, the leg slipped out from under her. The fact that she still had a hold on the rope from climbing in was the only thing that kept Noelle from falling on her ass. She looked down at the mat, at the gimmick for the match: oil. I'll have to get used to that, Noelle thought as the ring staff came to oil up the rest of her bikini clad body.
Was a PPV really the big deal?? Why was a PPV different from every other match??? Emi couldn't care less about what these event meant or why she was in the undercard, or what was these undercard thing she was here to fight, not like she payed attention to the crowd or the venue in her matches.
Her time arrived and she walked to the ring where she could see her opponent not having the best time with something, she didn't know her these didn't mind the girl in the ring wasn't famous but Emi knew like 4 girls in the entire company. The cute silver haired girl jumped to the ring where she could see and sense oil in the entire thing. "These is the special thing for the match? Oil? Pathetic."
Emi walked calmly to her corner like the oil wasn't in the ring while the crowd cheered for her, probably only because of her look while wearing such a beautiful bikini.
Emi then thought of something, was the oil the thing that had her opponent struggling before? Thinking about it the silver haired girl looked at Noelle and started laughing like crazy.
After the slip, Noelle was able to steady herself before Emi got into the ting. It didn't escape her notice that her opponent didn't seem to have any issue with the oil upon entering the ring. If Noelle had to guess, Emi probably had practice with oil. It looked so nonexistent to her that the Spaniard didn't think it could be purely a natural affinity with oil. It was most likely that her opponent had some manner of experience moving and fighting in oil. A disadvantage, to be sure. But as it should be the only disadvantage that Noelle faced in this matchup, she wasn't especially worried.
But then Emi started laughing at Noelle. And not just laughing, but full on busting a gut at her. Noelle raised her eyebrows at the display, clueless as to why her opponent had broken into such a cackle. "The hell's so funny?" Noelle said. Her words carried some edge, as it was obvious that whatever Emi was laughing for, she was laughing at her. But Noelle's genuine confusion carried most of her tone.
