Tight Match

There was something Garlim hadn't told Linda before they started training: a few months earlier, the blonde goddess had faced Alaina in a match that ended in a technical draw due to the time limit. However, Garlim had sustained an injury during that encounter. When Linda landed that kick, the blonde goddess's neck snapped violently backward—causing her vision to go white—and the blow struck the exact spot where she had previously been injured.

For a moment, Garlim lay motionless, her gaze fixed on the lights. Every second she couldn't move her body felt like an eternity, and panic began to set in. But after a few moments—as Linda knelt beside her, visibly worried—the blonde goddess felt her strength returning; she slowly rolled onto her side and placed a hand on her neck. "Aghhh..." Garlim took a deep breath, relieved not to be paralyzed; it seemed the impact had merely caused a shockwave without actually aggravating her injury.

Linda was getting worried the longer her friend lay on the canvas motionless as she began to worry that maybe she had done the unthinkable. That she may have just paralyzed or worse killed her sparring partner as she was about to rush off to grab her phone when she heard a noise. As Garlim would take a deep breath , and then move her body as she clutched her chest as she tried to stop her heart from racing so far.

Once she got herself under control , and her heart would stop pounding in her chest she would kneel down onto one knee.Since the spar was put on hold as she wanted to check up on the other woman first as she said ''Garlim are you in any condition to continue the match or would you rather we stop the spar here and now so you can get checked by a doctor or anything''

Garlim remained on the ground for a few more seconds with her eyes closed, focusing solely on the flow of air moving in and out of her lungs. Feeling the cold sweat clinging to her skin and the sharp pain at the base of her neck was—ironically—a blessing; it meant her nervous system was still responding perfectly.

When Linda’s voice, heavy with genuine guilt and anguish, broke the silence, the blonde goddess exhaled the last traces of panic.
She slowly opened her eyes, meeting her companion’s terrified gaze. With a measured effort, she pressed her palms against the ground and shifted from lying on her side to an all-fours position, letting her head hang for a moment before rising onto her knees to mirror Linda’s posture.
"Give me... give me a second, Linda," Garlim said, her voice a bit raspier than usual, as she gently massaged the side of her neck, searching for the pressure points her doctor had taught her after the fight with Alaina.

When Linda asked if they needed to see a doctor, Garlim slowly shook her head. "No, it’s fine, Linda; you did perfectly... I said we should make it a mock fight; I understand you were just trying to make it more exciting for me." The blonde tried to force a smile to ease the tension, though the slight tremor in her hands betrayed the fact that the adrenaline was still coursing through her body. She looked Linda in the eye, realizing just how close her friend had come to rushing her to the emergency room. Garlim knew that hiding her previous injury had been a foolish mistake—an excess of pride that had nearly given her training partner a heart attack from sheer fright.

As more time went past , Linda was becoming more and more worried that maybe she had fucked up. That she had actually injured her friend as she did not hear her say anything as she was about to go look for her phone when she heard Garlim say something. The voice of her friend's voice made her relax as she retorted ''you made me so worried. Still are you sure that you don't want me to go call a ambulance. As I rather be save and sorry then do nothing , and later realize we needed more help and things got worse because we did not do anything''

As the blond was serious with what she was saying , but in the end would trust her friend as she figured that Garlim knew what she was doing as she would take a deep breath to calm herself as she then said ''well should have bin more careful. As I did kinda fuck up when i landed that last move as I should have thought things through as i knew it could lead to a injury if it connected in a bad way''

Garlim let out a soft, slightly self-deprecating laugh, though she also winced a little in pain. She moved her hand from the back of her neck and rested it on her thigh, never breaking eye contact with Linda. "Probably," the blonde goddess said, her voice growing steadier as her breathing finally returned to a normal rhythm. "If I were feeling even a fraction of the neurological numbness I experienced after what happened with Alaina, I’d be the first one screaming for a paramedic."

She paused, watching as the tension gradually left her friend’s shoulders—though a trace of guilt still lingered in Linda’s eyes. Garlim reached out and placed her hand firmly and reassuringly on Linda’s shoulder. "In any case, the mistake was mine. You executed the technique exactly as you were supposed to; I simply didn’t prepare myself well enough to receive it."

She was trying to relax , but would continue to to be a little nervous . However with each second that would pass she would relax more and more as she would feel Garlim's hand on her shoulder. As she was once more reassured that she did not mess up , and that caused her to finally put herself at ease. Since while accidents could happen nobody wanted to be the one who injured someone else.

So with a deep breath she retorted ''okay if you say so. Still do wish it had not happened as seeing you lay their like that scared the hell out of me. Especially when you did not respond to anything i was saying''

Garlim slid her hand slowly and gently toward Linda’s cheek, caressing it and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you really care about me that much? Perhaps when I’ve fully recovered, you won’t say the same thing," she whispered. The blonde goddess leaned a little closer to Linda and planted a sweet kiss on her cheek.
