Kyo Akamatsu vs Rachel Kincaid (D)

It was taking a supreme effort of willpower on Kyo's part not to tap out: Rachel's cattle mutilation hold was expertly applied, wrenching Kyo's arms back almost to their breaking point. With a hold like this, the difference in stature, size or strength between them meant absolutely nothing, and Kyo found himself admitting that Rachel was, so far, showing herself to be an extremely good submissionist. So good that he was already being forced to give up his first rope break.

As Rachel stood up and got away from him, Kyo pushed himself up to his knees, wincing from the lingering pain in his shoulders. As Rachel showed him mock concern, he replied with a wary smile. "And deny you a proper match? That would hardly be sporting of me." Gingerly, he got back up to his feet and immediately started to circle her, showing absolutely no signs of letting up after that debilitating hold.

And then, without waiting, he would lunge forwards, raising an arm for a clothesline. He was absolutely anticipating that Rachel would duck it..which was why he immediately turned into a spin, using the momentum of his raised arm to whirl around and snap a kick at Rachel behind him, hoping to nail her in the side, chest or head and catch her unprepared!

“If you insist. Just don’t blame me if you don’t walk away from this in one piece!” Rachel warned him as she watched him circle her. When the Japanese man changed at her with a clothesline she was prepared. She easily ducked the telegraphed attack.

“How predictable-aahh!” Rachel was cut off by the sudden kick to her side. She had gotten a little too cocky and ended up paying for it.

Kyo's counter-kick slammed home, hammering into Rachel's side and sending the gold-clad wrestler staggering. Good, Kyo thought: that gave him some much-needed space and time for a counter attack. Time that he had to use now.

Without wasting time, Kyo ran to the opposite ropes, bouncing off of them, before running at Rachel from behind. Snagging her head under one arm, he would leap forwards, aiming to bulldog Rachel face-first into the mat!

Rachel bit back a curse as she recoiled from the kick to her side. She turned to glare at her opponent but he had already moved from his spot. She didn’t know where he had gone until she felt his arm around her head as he drove her face first into the mat with a bulldog sending pain shooting through her nose.

“Argh!”

The ring shook as Rachel was driven face-first into it! After after enduring several of Rachel's holds in a row, Kyo was now back in the driver's seat, and he had no intention of wasting this opportunity: with Rachel now on her front, Kyo clamped his legs around one of her arms, trapping it in place, before lying across her back and locking his arms across her head, wrenching back tightly in a crossface submission!

The ref dropped down to check on Rachel and ask if she gave up, as Kyo began to stretch away at her ruthlessly...

Having been stunned by the bulldog, Rachel was in no position to stop Kyo from applying the crossface on her. Rachel cried out as her chin was pulled upward to apply pressure on her neck and upper body. Her eyes were clenched shut but she could hear the referee ask her if she wanted to give up. Rachel answered "no" as she tried to pry Kyo's arms off of her in an attempt to break free without having to use one of her precious few rope breaks.
