It hadn't been long since Astrid Ostberg first took on the Harbingers - just a few weeks ago, she had faced Annabelle Valentine in a hentai match. The Norsewoman had no experience whatsoever when it came to hentai wrestling, and, for the Harbingers, that had been by design - they wanted to force Astrid into a match that was well outside of her comfort zone in order to claim the advantage over her. This would be much the same - Candice was notorious for her experience with deathmatch wrestling, a sector of the wrestling world that Astrid had disparaged and regarded as beneath her. Even when Astrid had held the WOWW Hardcore Championship on the indies, she had refused to partake in any actual hardcore tactics, claiming that they were no substitute for natural talent.
In fact, that was exactly why Candice was so dead-set on facing Astrid here - because for Candice, it was deeply personal. Candice had been one of Astrid's challengers for the Hardcore Championship back during her WOWW run, and Astrid had judged her for her reliance on weapons and gimmicky match types the whole way through. When Astrid managed to beat her without using any of Candice's tactics against her, it had left the green-haired girl with a grudge she wasn't soon to forget. And now that the Harbingers had set Astrid in their sights, Candice saw this as the perfect opportunity to have her vengeance.
Astrid didn't want to admit it, not even to herself - but this time, the tables had turned. She wasn't a champion taking on a challenger any more. In fact, Astrid's run as Heavyweight Champion was behind her now, and she found herself struggling to hold onto the relevance she once had. When the Harbingers were making such a high-profile challenge as this, Astrid simply didn't have the option to turn them down - to do so would be an admission of cowardice; of lack of confidence. And that was something Astrid couldn't afford to show the world. If she needed people to believe she was still relevant, she had to accept this challenge - whether she liked it or not.

Astrid tried to hold her head high as she stepped out onto the ramp, but there was no confident smile on her face - only a stoic stare at the ring ahead of her as she trodded on down the aisle. She didn't pay any heed to the fans cheering for her or reaching out toward her. Astrid didn't want to look any of them in the eye - she couldn't bear to think about all the people who were counting on her, and how many people she stood to let down if she lost. She just had to give it her best...and, as she climbed into the ring, she could only hope her best was good enough.

Tonight was the night Candice had long been dreaming off for years at this point. Years ago, back when Candice was dealt a soul crushing defeat at the hands of her younger sister the Thunderbolt joined a league under the name of World of Womans' Wrestling as a last-ditch effort of wrestling in the states. The greenette actually made a name for herself in the hardcore division of the league. Thanks to Bernadette, Candice had turned full heel and didn't give a rat's ass about what happened to any poor sucker who stood across from her. She was a natural after all and went through the ranks with ease even sending a couple girls to the hospital in the process, until she became the number one contender for the hardcore championship title. She can still remember how pumped she was after beating the life out of her opponent that night, however the champion Astrid Ostberg didn't like that idea one bit. She rejected Candice challenge which shocked the younger Edison at the time. Candice busted her ass off winning match after match and finally got to where she belonged but nope, instead Candice had to be desperate to get the match she wanted and offered a Loser Leaves Town Vs Title match. If Astrid lost, she would get the choice between either leaving WOWW or surrendering her title to Candice but if Candice lost... she had to leave WOWW. Needless to say, Candice was brutally defeated by Astrid in a match possibly more humiliating than the defeat she had by the hands of her younger sister. In the process Candice left the United States shortly after, the shame was too much for her to bare leaving behind all of her family members in the process.
Now Candice stood in front of the sink mirror of her locker room all by her lonesome, letting those painful memories run by her one last time. "It's not going to end like last night!" Candice growled as she gripped her hands on the locker room sink as she furrowed her eyebrows in frustrated at the mere thought of a repeat like their last match together. Candice would rather die in the ring and even dream of hearing "Astrid Ostberg wins against Candice Edison" for a second time in her life. If Candice wanted to win this, she needed to put every ounce of her hardcore prowess to finally beat Astrid Ostberg. However, while Candice was standing there mentally preparing herself for the rematch she had been waiting for a nervous backstage worker opened the door ever so slightly to peep in on Candice. "Uh... Ms. Edison..." The worker asked as before they could continue Candice sharply turned her head around looking at the worker. "WHAT DO YOU WANT!? CAN'T YOU SEE YOU ARE RUINING MY CONCRENTATION!?" Candice angrily yelled from across the room with the person jumping up shaken from Candice's threat. "I just wanted you to know your up for entrance..." The nervous girl let out with Candice still looking pissed off from her interruption. "I'll out there in a minute now go before I use you as a weapon got it!?" Candice once again threatened the poor staff worker ran for the hills while Candice let out a sigh. It seemed like it was finally her turn to go down to the ring, it was time for Candice to face Astrid as she firmly put her cap on her forehead before turning around and getting her prop thunderbolts to put on her back for what was surely going to be a night to remember one way or the other.

Within seconds Candice came out to the top ramp wearing her PPV entrance attire because tonight was a death match, meaning any and all weapons inside the trashcan of weapons to the side of the ring and the ones the wrestlers bring was legal and so Candice knew she had to make an exception tonight. Candice began to strut down to the ring as while there were boos thrown her way she didn't pay any attention to them, her hungry gaze was set purely on Astrid. Just the sight of her made Candice clench her teeth, she was ready to remove these prop thunderbolts off and start beating down on the blonde but sadly she had to wait until the bell ring. Even so Candice would size Astrid up and down a bit like a piece of meat as she licked her lips for when the time would come. Once she got in front of the ring, Candice removed her props dropping them to the side before tossing her signature cap over to a ringside girl not even giving her a look before climbing into the ring now face to face with Astrid. "Hope you're ready to die bitch!" Candice grinned with sadistic excitement on her face as the ref began to put the collar around Candice before going to put it on Astrid. The process was slow to not cause any injuries to the women but for Candice, she just wanted this to be over so she could begin trashing Astrid. The green haired woman rapidly tapped her foot waiting with anxious breath until the damn thing was finally around her neck. Thankfully the collar was ten feet along giving Candice plenty of room to do her fast attacks on the Norwegian beast.
While that was going ringside commentary had none other but Bernadette Nobel at commentary to support her friend after the much success she had commentating over Annabelle's victory over Astrid. However back the ring action as Candice and Astrid were now suited back Candice was waiting any second for the bell to go off. "As soon as that bell goes off... you're dead..." Candice threatened coldly hoping Astrid would get a good idea of what was in store for her soon.
