Standard Match

Fuuka Yamagishi was standing backstage, preparing to fight Kanako Sawatari, the woman who had recently beaten her close friend and tag partner, Chiaki Nanami in a match. Yet this was not some act of vengeance. In fact, the two had planned this match out while Fuuka was giving Kanako a ride home, after a night that proved to be the beginning of a friendship between them. Chiaki and Kanako had already been friends after all, so there was no bad blood.

So what this was instead was a fun, friendly match between two wrestlers who wanted to see what the other had. Though to be honest, Fuuka felt pretty disadvantaged in this match up. Kanako was a smother wrestler, and for all the punishment that Fuuka's body and will could withstand, her extremely durability did not extend to lung capacity. She could be smothered into a KO defeat just as easily as any other wrestler. And with Fuuka's primary physical edge being reduced in its importance, Kanako's edges in speed and power would only become more pronounced. Fuuka was already a pretty cerebral wrestler, with extensive knowledge, quick yet solid decision making, and a keenly observant eye. But she would be relying even more on her mind than normal to carry her through such a physical competition.

Fuuka's music came on, and the Lightweight blunette came out to load cheering. It turned out that the livestream with Chiaki and Kanako, which was where Fuuka had actually meant her opponent for tonight when joined in towards the end, had gone immensely viral. A virality that gave Fuuka a sudden large spike in her popularity as a wrestler. She had been on Chiaki's streams plenty of times before, but that one was the one that the internet went nuts over. Fuuka just smiled and waved at all her fans, new and old, as she made her way into the ring.

Once Fuuka had finished her entrance her opponent for the night would finish off her pre-match stretches and get ready to make her appearance. Unlike most of her matches Kanako Sawatari had met her opponent before now, having briefly met the bluenette on Chiaki's stream and quickly bonding with the girl over putting their mutual friend in submission holds. That had lead to them chatting and becoming acquainted with each other, and given that they were both LAW wrestlers it inevitably lead to them agreeing to a match with each other, and a match that Kanako was quite excited for at that. Kanako was in LAW to compete in serious matches of course, but when she was up against cute girls like Chiaki or Fuuka she couldn't help but want to get a little more softcore and smothery with them.

Kanako was getting a bit ahead of herself of course, she had to actually wrestle Fuuka before she could think of dominating her. Kanako wasn't the kind to do any research on her opponents for getting into a match so she didn't really know how Fuuka fought or what kind of wrestler she was, although she did know that this was a rare case of her opponent being outright smaller than her, even if it was only by a slight amount. Maybe Fuuka was a technical type like Chiaki? Either way Kanako was confident that she was the better athlete of the two, so long as she doesn't let Fuuka set the tone for the match she should have a good chance of winning.

Once her theme kicked in Kanako would make her way out into the arena to be met with an even more enthusiastic response than normal! The popularity of Chiaki and Kanako's stream had given Fuuka a huge boost in her fan reaction, so when those same fans saw one of the stars of that same stream, and the reason it got so lewd towards the end at that, they went crazy with their ovations! Though as a former celebrity Kanako was plenty used to receiving this kind of attention, moreso than most wrestlers even, so she'd just carry on with her usual entrance and confidently stride her way down the ramp.

Once she reached the ring she'd vault over the top rope to land across from Fuuka, giving her new friend a look up and down and whistling appreciatively "Damn Fuuka-chan, you look great! Where were you hiding that bod when we last met!?!" Kanako could have sworn that Fuuka looked way skinnier in the clothes she'd worn to Chiaki's place. Maybe she just had a crazy sleeper build? Either way Kanako would gesture around to the audience who were eagerly awaiting their match "We've got quite a crowd tonight. Didn't know Chiaki-chan's stream was so popular. Still, doesn't it get you fired up?" Her tone of voice was shockingly conversational considering they were about to fight, but it was clear from the way the brunette bounced from foot to foot that she was ready for action.

Fuuka giggled at Kanako's reaction to her body. "Ha ha, ah well, outside of the ring, most of the dresses I wear are pretty loose and covering, so they don't show my body very much," she said. Honestly, Kanako's reaction helped Fuuka relax a bit. If her opponent was this taken back by her body, then maybe Fuuka did have the physicality to match up to Kanako.

"Chiaki's stream have always been popular," Fuuka continued. "But the stream we were on set records for her channel. As one might expect, having somebody of your fame and looks on stream doing the things we were doing to the streamer made for really good content. I wouldn't expect it to be very long before she asks you back on, hehe."

Friendly banter aside, it was time to get down to business. The ref called for both wrestlers to be ready, and Fuuka affirmed that she was. Assuming Kanako did the same, the bell would then be rung to start the match. Fuuka would start slowly, as she was want to do. She wasn't an aggressive attacking wrestler like Kanako was. So the blunette would let her opponent start the action, while Fuuka herself would look to either read and counter the attack, or at least endure and hit back.

Fuuka's prediction that Kanako might get invited back on Chiaki's stream soon put a smile on the brunette's lips as she put a finger on her chin and tilted her head thoughtfully "Hehe, if she doesn't mind things getting a little frisky like that again then I'm certainly happy to indulge her." Getting frisky with Chiaki was a subject for another time however as the two of them needed to get their match going. Kanako gave the referee a nod before turning back to Chiaki and giving her a wink, expressing a desire for there to be no hard feelings between them after the match is over. Or at least she hopes that comes across, it might just look like she's flirting.

Either way Kanako would get more serious once the bell rang, her smile falling into a more calm and collected look as she stared Fuuka down. The slightly smaller of the two women was starting things off slow, simply getting into a stance and waiting for Kanako to come to her. Kanako's first instinct was to rush at Fuuka and try to throw out an attack that the greenette couldn't react to, but she knew that actually pulling that off wasn't all that likely when the brainy girl was expecting it. So instead Kanako would walk, not run, over to Fuuka and try for a grapple instead, trying to leverage her rare weight advantage to shove Fuuka back into ropes. If she was able to bully Fuuka like this she would push her back until her back hit the ropes, then would release her with a shove before aiming a knife-edge chop at her chest!

Fuuka expected Kanako to be a lot more aggressive off the bell, but she figured this more measured approach meant that the brunette was respecting Fuuka's cerebral reputation. Kanako's slow approach was her way of trying to dictate terms. She likely knew that Fuuka couldn't move fast enough to catch Kanako with a burst of speed, and Kanako herself wasn't providing the speed for Fuuka to use to catch the purple clad wrestler from somewhere she wasn't ready to defend. Kanako wanted to force this match onto a straight and narrow oad, without room for Fuuka to branch out into advantageous paths.

Kanako would get what she wanted, locked into a grapple with Fuuka. But that grapple wouldn't go how she was likely expecting. The blunette found herself able to lean forward into Kanako as she pushed, though the former idol's foundation stayed strong, her legs not giving ground despite the situation. Fuuka took a moment to process what this meant; she was outmuscling Kanako at the upper body, but her hips and legs were proving to be not as strong in comparison. The solution was simple; Fuuka needed to force this grapple to focus on their upper bodies. She would try to do so by disengaging one hand to hook her arm under Kanako's and pull the two of them together. Which if successful, would put them chest to chest and force both to stand more upright. Thus putting the majority of the leverage in the position onto their upper bodies, where Fuuka looked to have the edge.
