The heavy thud of Sophie’s boot crashed squarely into Mary’s chest. The sheer force of the stomp knocked the wind right out of her, causing her to gasp as a sharp, blinding pain flared through her ribs.
Instead of curling up or trying to roll away to avoid the follow-up strike, Mary braced herself through the agony. As Sophie’s weight shifted forward to prepare the second stomp aimed directly at her face, Mary's survival instincts took over. Before the powerhouse could fully execute the next strike, Mary attempted to lunge upward with a desperate, explosive movement, trying to wrap both of her arms tightly around Sophie’s planting ankle and calf to lock the giant’s leg against her own wounded chest.
With a fierce determination, Mary tried to cling tightly to the limb, intending to use her full body weight as an anchor. Despite the stabbing pain in her right knee and ribs, she aggressively tried to twist her torso to one side whilst attempting to thrust her shoulder forward against Sophie’s shin. The aim was to unbalance Sophie, trying to drag the heavy wrestler down onto the mat with her.
Mary no longer intended to remain on the defensive. If she managed to force Sophie down to her level, she was ready to immediately launch a ruthless attack, primarily by trying to quickly get on top of her, and thus, once she had a hand on Sophie’s shoulder, to strike her face repeatedly from side to side and try to force her to block the blows, trapping her in that position.

Re: Sophie vs Mary (D) - From the bottom to the top?
Sophie's first stomp might have connected in the way she wanted it to, but that wasn't the case at all for the second. Not only did Mary lanage to grab her foot, she was able to force Sophie down to the canvas. In movements she'd moved on from her foot and was climbing on her body.
From there, she got one hand on her shoulder to pin her down, with Mary pounded away at Sophie's face with her free hand. At first she got away with this, getting a couple shots in, but it wouldn't be long before Sophie handed to get both of her forearms up to defend her face. Simultaneously, she lifted her legs up off the canvas in an attempt to wrap them around her opponent’s torso and squeeze as hard as she could. If that was successful, she'd attempt to grab Mary's arms to restrain her while she put pressure on her torso.

Re: Sophie vs Mary (D) - From the bottom to the top?
The pressure around her ribs was immediate. As Sophie’s powerful legs wrapped round her torso, Mary felt the tight grip that threatened to immobilise her, exerting immense pressure on her already bruised ribs. Sophie was trying to stop Mary’s attack, but she refused to allow herself to be completely immobilised.
Realising that Sophie was simultaneously raising her arms to grab Mary’s, Mary fought back aggressively against the hold. Instead of pulling away, she tried to shift her weight forwards, attempting to maintain a heavy, rigid stance to prevent Sophie from gaining a firm grip on her wrists
Rather than trying to escape, Mary would seek to bring her elbows down forcefully, attempting to drive them sharply into the insides of Sophie’s thighs. She tried to apply maximum crushing pressure with her joints, hoping that the sudden burst of localised pain would force the larger woman to loosen her tight grip on her legs.
If she managed to successfully break or weaken the grip around her waist, Mary was prepared to immediately step back far enough to gain the upper hand, hoping to land another powerful close-range punch or a forearm strike directly into Sophie’s high guard, leaving the ultimate success of her defence and follow-up strike entirely in the hands of her opponent’s reaction.

Re: Sophie vs Mary (D) - From the bottom to the top?
Sophie, of course did her best to make her leg squeeze of Mary as tight as possible. It wasn't her first choice for a type of attack, but the opportunity for it presented itself, so she went for it. Whole while that part worked, her attempts to grab Mary's wrists were not directly successful.
She certainly kept her from punching her face, that much was true, but her blonde opponent was now elbowing her thighs in an attempt to get free. Sure enough, the punishment of the Elbows made it no longer worth holding on, so she loosed her legs up.
When Sophie noticed that her opponent was starting the step back she decided to 'help', her, pulling her knees toward her chest, then pushing her feet into Mary's torso, aiming to cause her to stumble backwards.
In any case, she'd quickly get back up to her feet, maintaining a high guard as she did. Mary's forearm crashed into her guard, sending her back a couple steps but larger girl would respond by attempting to lung forward to slam her right knee into her opponent's gut, which if successful, would be followed by a left handed uppercut punch aimed at Mary's chin.

Re: Sophie vs Mary (D) - From the bottom to the top?
The knee to the stomach hit like a truck, knocking the breath clean out of Mary and leaving her ribs throbbing with a dull, heavy ache. But as Sophie leaned into that vicious left uppercut, Mary didn't freeze up. Relying on sheer muscle memory, she instinctively dipped low to her right, letting the strike whistle past her ear
Using the momentum from the dodge, Mary immediately tried to pivot on her lead foot to catch Sophie off-guard from a better angle. Ignoring the burn in her midsection, she exploded upward, aiming a sharp, heavy hook right at the point of Sophie’s chin, hoping the sudden impact to the jaw would shock her system and leave her dazed.
Without waiting to see the full damage, Mary sought to press the advantage. She surged forward, attempting to unleash a gritty, short-range combination of hooks and forearm smashes to drive the larger fighter backward. Her goal was to keep the pressure on, trying to force Sophie step-by-step toward the turnbuckle and trap her against the corner, leaving the outcome of the blitz and the impact on her jaw entirely in her opponent's hands.

Re: Sophie vs Mary (D) - From the bottom to the top?
There hadn't been a bit of mercy in Sophie's knee strike. All the force that the damn nearly a quarter ton of woman that Sophie was could bring bare, was going towards rearranging her opponent's guts and rattling her rib cage. Seeing the blow had taken the breath out of her foes her opponent was plenty indication that the strike was a job well done. Though perhaps it was a little too well done.
As when her uppercut shot up towards her opponent's chin, all Sophie could think of was to punch the woman so hard it would lift her off her feet snap head back hard enough that the whiplash from the blow be a source of harm. Yet she managed to dip away from the blow. Perhaps her opponents survival instincts kicked in to get her out of the way because of the shock of what came before. It would be understandable, as much if not more destructive intent.
Which was why she was caught of guard when Mary retaliated with an unexpected hook punch to her chin, which would send Sophie stumbling backwards. The blow itself came was followed by a barrage that forced her even further back, though mid way through she'd get her forearms up to start blocking the blows, though they still send her toward the corner. Yet ironically, being forced back presented is own advantages, which Sophie would attempt to make use of to great effect.
With nowhere to go, Her response would be to use her forearms to attempt part her foe's guard, just long enough to toss her throw her forward with a headbutt to the nose bridge to send her stumbling backward. If successful, she'd attempt to immediately follow it up by grabbing her opponent'ss head and pulling her down into a vicious sit-out facebuster.
