Kyo Akamatsu vs Rachel Kincaid (D)

"Ungh...not at all..."

This the retort that Kyo managed to land before he pushed off, managing to dislodge Rachel from him. His desperate counter worked better than expected: Rachel was not only pushed backwards, she was unbalanced enough that she actually fell backwards. So far, Kyo thought, so good.

Springing to his feet, Kyo didn't waste time, springing up and springing forward, aiming an elbow drop on the inside of Rachel's thigh. If the hit connected, then Kyo would try to follow up by grabbing for Rachel's leg and dropping onto his butt, snapping his own legs around the trapped limb and locking his ankles as he repaid tit for tat with a legbar submission...

Kyo’s unexpected counter had sent Rachel down to the mat, which was the last place she wanted to be. Before she could get back to her feet though, Kyo was on her. He dropped an elbow down on the inside of her thigh, keeping her down on the mat for the time being.

“Gah!”

Kyo didn’t stop there though. He then grabbed her leg and wrapped his own legs around it to apply a leg bar submission. Now it was Rachel’s turn to grit her teeth and endure the pain shooting through her leg. She had to act quickly. Even if she didn’t submit, spending too much time in the leg bar would hamper her mobility in the match. So she used her free leg to put her foot behind the back of Kyo’s knee. She attempted to extend her leg to create space to pull her trapped leg out.

Now it was Kyo's turn to lock in a submission hold, trapping one of Rachel's legs in a legbar; keeping her ankle tuckled under his armpit, Kyo clamped his own legs tightly around Rachel's powerful thigh, leaning his own body to the side to forcefully hyperextend the trapped limb. And it seemed to be having the desired effect, as Rachel was visibly gritting her teeth in discomfort. He doubted he was going to force a tapout this early in the match, but he still intended to make a good start of it.

Rachel's response was textbook, but no less effective, pressing her free boot against one of Kyo's legs to loosen his grip. He responded by holding on tighter to Rachel's trapped ankle, the two wrestlers dropping onto their sides as their legs were neatly pretzled together, but little by little Kyo felt the grip of his legs coming loose. Finally, he felt his legs slip free, and he relented, releasing Rachel's trapped boot and rolling to get free of any retaliation she had in mind. The crowd clapped at Rachel's escape as Kyo moved to put some distance between himself and the American, rolling back to his knees to watch her warily...

It took a bit of effort but Rachel was ultimately able to free leg her Kyo’s grasp. As soon as her leg came free she rolled away from the Japanese man to put some space between them. Kyo did something similar, seemingly not in any hurry go back on the attack.

The initial exchange of holds and submissions proved enlightening about the competitor’s capabilities. If nothing else, it showed that neither combatant could take the other lightly. The two watched each other warily as they both rose to their feet. Now back at square one, Rachel once again slowly approached her opponent. She had her arms raised for another lockup. If he accepted then she would attempt to take him back down to the mat with an arm drag.

Rachel's previous flirtatious confidence was gone: now the brunette was approaching Kyo a lot more warily, taking more care in her step. Kyo, for his part, felt the same way about Rachel now: he had seen what she could do, and knew that behind that constant teasing was a highly capable submissionist. Slowly, Kyo mirrored Rachel's movements, arms raised as well as the two wrestlers squared off.

And then, in an explosion of movement, both darted in for another grapple. Rachel was quick, shifting her grip and flipping Kyo down to the mat with an arm drag; cursing, he quickly tried to get his knees under him and swiveled his lower body around to get up to his feet, counter-grabbing Rachel's elbow to try to flip her overhead onto her butt in turn. The crowd watch in excitement as the two wrestlers were now in a battle of quick, dynamic grappling.

Rachel had planned to transition into an armbar after taking Kyo down to the mat. But no plan survives contact with the enemy. While she was able to take the Japanese man down with an arm drag, he managed to recover and grab her elbow to flip her over before she could follow up.

The crowd watched with bated breath as the two were now engaged in a heated exchange of grapples and counters. Both were constantly on the move and looking for an opening to take control of the match. Rachel was nothing if not adaptable as she swung her legs up and pushed up off the mat with a kip up. Now back on her feet, she swung her leg around aiming a swift roundhouse kick to her opponent’s head.

Kyo countered Rachel's arm drag with a smoothly executed arm drag of his own, preventing Rachel from consolidating her gains. To absolutely no surprise on Kyo's part, though, Rachel recovered quickly, kipping up off the mat. No sooner than she was on her feet than Rachel was lunging at Kyo, one leg lashing out in a roundhouse kick aimed squarely at his head!

Kyo's finely honed instincts fired up, and he responded with a kick of his own.

If all went according to plan, he would snag Rachel's leg in midair with his own, before using his heel to unbalance Rachel and pull her down onto her front! If that was successful, then he would then try to roll into a sitting position on her butt and try to pull that leg back in a Boston Crab!

Kyo’s reflexes proved to be impressive as he swung a kick at her at the same time that she launched her own kick. Their legs met in midair when Kyo did something truly unexpected. He hooked his leg with hers and pulled her down to the mat. Then while Rachel was lying on her stomach, Kyo sat down on her rear end and pulled on her leg with a Half Boston Crab.

"Mmmh. Oh! Nngh. Haah."

Rachel was in actual pain as the Japanese wrestler worked over her leg, but she made a point of exaggerating her cries and making them some more like moans. Hopefully this would cause Kyo to lose focus while she tried to roll onto her back and kick the man off with her free leg.

The crowd gasped and even applauded as Kyo managed to almost flawlessly counter Rachel's kick with one of his trademark counters. The end result was that Rachel was practically yanked off her feet, and flipped down onto her front! And from there, it was no small effort at all for Kyo to roll onto Rache's back and wrench back on her leg in a boston crab. In an instant, Rachel's flexibility was tested as Kyo leaned back with the trapped limb, elevating Rachel's lower body off the mat and forcing her back to curve as Kyo stretched away relentlessly at her trapped leg and spine.

This time, Rachel was actually crying out and groaning in pain. Something about Rachel's moans, though, made Kyo pause; those did not entirely sound like moans of pain.

What the hell, is she getting off on this?!!

Kyo's split second distraction allowed Rachel to roll, unbalancing Kyo enough that he was caught flat-footed as Rachel kicked up with her free leg. The angle was bad, and Rachel didn't get quite the hit she would have liked, but she still scored a glancing blow across the side of Kyo's cheek. This was enough to make him let go and roll clear of Rachel, stunned, and clutching the side of his face...
