Tag Team Preparation

Post by Highfly »

Lauren arrived at the gym early. She had spoken to her tag team partner Peggy McIntyre yesterday and Peggy had told her that the two of them were going to be in a tag match soon against some new folks. Lauren didn't want to lose a tag match again with Peggy as they were sort of finding their stride as a team, and Peggy had been doing better solo recently save for a loss to Make Akamatsu. Lauren was on a bit of a slide, she was worried she would hold the team back.

That is why she was here earlier than usual. When it doubt, work it out. She was doing all she could to improve, to succeed in the ring. She hadn't been released. She had won a considerable amount of matches but her longevity and her record losing more than she won meant she may very well have been LAWs wrestler with the most losses on her record. That fact had embarrassed her, and was humiliating. She was going to do all she could do right the ship.

She was wearing a tank top and shorts as she emerged from the locker room and she began to head to the weights. She was going to lift and lift heavy as the powerhouse wanted to keep focusing on what she was good at, hoping to be even better.

Lev was frankly amazed that Daigo had come up with an idea, although this time it was for the better. According to what his friend told him, Daigo had managed to arrange a tag team match with a veteran of the company to raise funds for the orphanage he worked for, and he wanted Lev to be his partner. His new best friend accepted right away. He had suggested before that he wanted to make a donation to that place, but Daigo had refused because he felt it was like begging someone else and wanted to earn it on his account. It was a statement the eccentric reluctantly had to accept.

Once at the gym, he found him reading one of the many books he enjoyed reading before each workout to help him focus better. After he put the book away in his gym bag so he could start his workout routine and meet one of his future sparring partners in the ring, he was told that one of his future opponents was there. She was a tall, slender blonde wearing a white and blue outfit, so it wouldn’t take him long to find her with that description.

And there she was, lifting weights as if it were nothing. The two were almost complete opposites physically. He didn’t hesitate to approach her calmly and ask who she was: "I’m sorry if I’m interrupting your workout. Are you Miss Fredericks, by any chance? I’m actually looking for you." he said as respectfully and elegantly as he could.

Lauren was working out and getting into it when she heard a voice near her. She had been so focused on what she was doing that she didn't see the man approach at all. Initially she was shocked. Normally no one was looking for her. She was bigger, older and not quite the type that drew big media numbers or fans.

"Oh, that is me all right and... you were looking for me?" She asked. "Well here I am, what can I do for ya?" She was curious and not at all upset. She was actually happy to have someone looking for her. She sat back and smiled at the man in front of her waiting to see what he had to say.

Yes, that was the person she was looking for. When she saw the philanthropist approaching her, the blonde smiled and seemed quite happy that someone was looking for her, pausing her workout to see what “The White Bishop” was going to say.

“Good afternoon, Miss Fredericks. Allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Lev Crawford,” Lev said, maintaining his usual elegance toward the lady. “I came to see you because my partner, Daigo, told me that he had organised a team fight alongside Miss McIntyre.” He continued, clarifying his intentions. “And I was the one who agreed to be Daigo’s teammate in that match, and I wanted to prepare by getting to know one of our opponents, since you’re Miss McIntyre’s teammate, aren’t you? I’d like to have a training session for that. Would you grant me that privilege?” he said as politely as possible.

Lauren was a bit surprised by how Lev was speaking to her. She had never met anyone this formal in a gym before. She was quiet for a moment trying to process everything before she nodded. "Yeah, we can work out together that isn't a problem at all." Lauren said with a smile. "You don't have to be so formal. This is a gym not an executive board meeting, I am just a wrestler like everyone else here." She said with a wink.

"Well Lev, what were you looking to do today? Strength, endurance, in-ring work? I am up for anything so you tell me what you were going to be doing."

Lev explained everything he could to Lauren about the situation, which the veteran accepted with a smile, though not before asking him to relax and stop being so formal. "Sorry, it’s just that I’m usually like that with everyone all the time, manners first, hehe" he said, a little embarrassed by his constant politeness.

The American asked the young Englishman what he should practice. "I think in-ring work would be best, as I reckon I’ve got good stamina and because I don’t usually use much strength in matches," he said after considering the options the experienced wrestler had given him.
