Catherine Celestial vs Katsumi Oshiro - No Disqualification

Katsumi's stomach knots with each strike of the referee's hand against the mat. The entire audience is counting in tandem. Her heart is thundering against Catherine's chest.

This is it. This is it!

And there it is! The third count! The referee signals the bell!

DING! DING! DING!

"YOUR WINNER BY PINFALL!," begins the announcer. "KATSUMIIII! OOOOSHIIIIROOO!"

Katsumi is still pinning Catherine down, caught somewhere between disbelief and elation. It's happening. It's finally happening. Years of her life poured into this thing she loves, years of her life being overlooked, being pushed aside for her uncouth nature, years of her life giving up everything else... finally. Finally she's been put on a PPV. There's hope. There's a chance. Bought over the battered body of the rival lying pinned beneath her, a testament to her determination.

It's been several seconds. Several long, extra seconds of lying on Catherine, just soaking in the pulsing wave after wave of cheer for her. For the match.

She eases Catherine's leg out of the tight, pinning angle until she's finally released the limb, letting it flop to the mat however Catherine pleases. The other hand relaxes its grip on her wrist, sliding down her rival's forearm to her bicep. And at last, she begins to get up off of her. In the end, she makes it to her knees, resting on the mat between Catherine's legs. The referee takes her right wrist and raises it, pointing at the punk grappler indicating the night's winner.

Katsumi is all smiles. Unrepentant, genuine, earnest smiles, bright and sincere. Her shoulders rise and fall dramatically with each hard breath, and her gaze lowers to look towards Catherine's face.

Catherine was resting, lying down. She heard the cheering and such. Katsumi did stay on her for a good bit, she must say to herself.



Catherine slowly raises the upper body of her body. When Katsumi saw her face. She just took a few deep breaths in. She is mad that she lost, but she was trying to expel it, and she will aim for a win next time. She enters an event or tournament.



She goes to fully get up. She doesn't know what Katsumi is going to do. She will be nice if needed. Unless she does it first. She is a badass after all.

Katsumi continues to watch her, unsure what to do when she sees her seem to come back to focus. Part of her wants to rope her into the celebration, the vain hopes that Catherine will catch some of Katsumi's jubilation. But the look she's getting back suggests that's... probably not going to happen. And when Catherine's body language makes it clear she's trying to stand, Katsumi opts to get up first. That'll probably make it easier on her, not having someone resting in the space between her legs.

Her mouth opens. But she doesn't know what to say. This must be what she anticipated before, when she was whispering to her; how that was her only chance to tell her those things. So, after a lingering look, Katsumi breaks away and steps to the ropes. With her music blaring in the PA, Katsumi slips between the cables and hops down to the padding surrounding the ring. Upon landing, she runs her fingers through her sweat-slickened hair, whisking it back over her shoulders before starting to walk back up the ramp.

Head held high, confident smile playing on her face, body battered and beaten but spirits soaring, Katsumi affects the aloof confidence of someone who knew this would end precisely the way it did. Not of someone who felt like everything was riding on this match. And with left hand propped to her waist, her hips set asway, she strides to the stage with the intention to vanish backstage - and have a miniature freakout in her dressing room.

Catherine eventually got it, and people were still cheering. She walks to leave the stage. Another match, and it didn't go well.

Catherine was walking, and as she was walking, she went past Katsumi's room. She wasn't paying attention to that. "Why was she so thankful?" Catherine said to herself.

It's possible that Katsumi could have heard that. Not like Catherine was begging quietly. She was using her normal voice. If Katsumi wants to say something or whatever, this is her last chance.

As it so happened, Katsumi is lingering back a little. Namely because she just needs a second to turn and leans against the wall beside her designated dressing room and process. Her gloved hands have found her face, scrubbing furiously as a nervous tick.

She doesn't see Catherine so much as hear her voice. The fingers split to peek between her digits, and she spots her.

"You can't tell?," she asks. "Hang on. Come'ere." Reaching behind her back, she opens the door to her changing room and reaches for Catherine's wrist, intent on dragging her into her room and promptly shutting the door behind her. It just wouldn't do to seem weak, and she has no idea how unusually giddy she might come across. She has a reputation to maintain! An air to uphold! She just pinned this chick on an enormous global stage, she can't undermine that by being so... so... flappy!

The interior of the room is unremarkable, in the sense that it would seem very much like the one Catherine would be using for this event. Which means likely posh and well-stocked in needed amenities and closet space, mirror real-estate, and flat counterspace before it, but probably not a lot besides that.

Not that it matters. Katsumi's big, vibrant green eyes are on Catherine, her smile bright despite the obvious fatigue and her battered condition.

Catherine saw a door open, and before she knew it, someone grabbed her wrist and pulled her in. She was up against the wall.

She looks at her and around. Booth looks bad. "We both look like crap. Hahaha. Didn't realize this was your room. What is it?" She reposted.

She's just smiling at her. She guesses that she somehow upset her, but she is smiling at her. She is confused by this. She picked one heck of a time to say that question.

The smile becomes an amused headtilt, and Katsumi exhales a puff of a sigh. Her left hand braces against the wall beside Catherine, while the right hand occupies itself lightly setting a couple fingertips against her former rival's stomach. Nothing dramatic - the fingertips just settle against her abs.

"Like I said in the ring. This match was really, really important to me. You have any idea how long I've been wrestling? How long I've just.." She pauses, then shakes her head. "Things haven't always been... fair... in this business to me. But tonight, I got to have my foot in the door."

"I really wanted this win tonight. And, like, I get it! I'm sure you wanted it, too! I'm probably gonna be sore the entire plane ride back home because of you. But I've been waiting for this chance for so long. The chance to.. start to make it all mean something. Following?"

"Ahhhh. To put your foot in the door so people remember you. I see, I see. That sort of thing. Yeah, I am still trying to make my marks in the industry. Oh well, it's all a part of their business.

She wonders if Katsumi sees her hands on her abs.

Does she care? Eh whatever. She does get it. She wants to start making her legacy here.

"Yeah, you're going to be sore. Take pain meds. Maybe some biofreeze. You have it maybe. It will make you oily. " she added. She doubts she needs that info.

She definitely does. But she's not explicitly drawing attention to it, outside of keeping those digits lightly pressed against Catherine's midsection.

"Kind'a," she says. "But it's... I dunno. It's more than that. I've been wrestling for years, get it? Before I ever joined LAW. And if anyone's gotta know I'm no slouch, it's gotta be you right now, right?" There's some teasing mirth in her voice at that, emphasizing the pointed humor with a slightly tighter pressing of her fingers against the other woman's stomach. "But I was never given my shot. Never any big matches. I wasn't allowed anywhere near the title scene. Got told I wasn't... uh.."

She trails off for a moment as her vibrant gaze shifts aside in thought. How did they put it..?

"...ratings-friendly?" The gaze zips back to Catherine. "They liked those frilly bitches wearing gaudy crap. And because I'd be a little more colorful, I'd get blackballed. But here, I was promised things would be different."

The fingers slide again, now bringing her full palm to rest on Catherine's waist.

"But I've been here a while. A long while. I've been on so many shows, I've wrestled so many people, I've ripped through opponent after opponent... and I still never got something big. Until tonight. Tonight feels like my chance to turn heads. To make people take notice. It wasn't for a title, sure, but it's the right step."

In other words, it gives hope in what was becoming a desert.

"And you didn't go easy on me. And you weren't a lame bitch who couldn't wrestle. You fought. We clashed. We struggled. That's exactly what gets people noticing us. That's what moves the needle. And in the end, I pinned you. Get it now? That wouldn't have been much if you weren't giving it your all."

"Oh yes, 'get it now.' I truly do get it now. You found a place, and now you made your first step out the door because people had to be anti-punk or goth-looking wrestlers because, oh no, scary and such."



"Well, you won this time, but if we fight again, I'm going to win. Ho ho ho ho," she teased, showing that fighting spirit of hers.



She gets where she's coming from. She wanted a big ein for a long time, and now she won that chance against someone, aka her, who made it hard as hell for her.
