Catherine Celestial vs Katsumi Oshiro - No Disqualification

The end result has the audience on their feet. What was surely about to be a devastating finish to their encounter turned around into a devastating reversal of fortunes. One head was meant for the hard floor, but another head took its place. And now the audience gets to watch Catherine hanging onto a rope to avoid falling out - how she's even cognizant enough after that hit to do that, they'll never know - and Katsumi on hands and knees, trying to bite back down the feel of her heart pounding in her neck.

She whips her hair to the right side of her face in order to look over her left shoulder, and she's just as surprised as the audience to see Catherine still hanging on. Her gaze turns to the mat beneath her, a couple breaths taken to steady herself, and at last, she pulls herself up to her feet.

Turning to Catherine, she kicks her boot against her wrist to force that separation from the ropes and send her back down to the floor again. This time, though - this time Miss Celestial will hopefully stay down. Because if she's able to take a brain-rattling frankensteiner on the hardest part of the ring and keep a clear enough head to stop herself from falling, her work isn't done.

She needs her compliant. She needs her pliable. She needs her too dazed to resist for what she has in mind.

And in order to get that, Katsumi is going to have to revisit a previous attack. Just... more crazy. More risky.

She'll wait long enough to ensure Catherine is down below and lying on her back. Then it's time to throw caution to the wind and go all in. Katsumi turns to the ropes and grabs the top rope for guidance.

She hops. Gold-toed boots land first on the bottom rope, then bounce to the middle rope. Bouncing again, Katsumi releases the top rope and flies back. Her body twists laterally through the air. As she descends towards Catherine, she pulls her arms and legs back to draw her stomach taut and firm to land hard across Catherine's stomach in a splash.

This is going to suck. But that's why the good lord invented knee and elbow pads.

Catherine's hand got kicked. She let go of the ropes from that, and she fell down onto the floor. Flomp! She goes on the floor. She is actually lying on her back. She's trying to recover right now.

She saw Katsumi going away. What is being done? Is she going to do something risky again? Catherine is trying to get up, but it's slow.

That move she did really did rattle her. Her head is throbbing. She may need some more time for her head to heal up from the damage.

She tries to bend upwards. She thinks she hears a running tone; she sees it. Katsumi jumps high in the air and over the ropes. She goes in, crashing into Catherine. "Ahh!" she yelps. Getting hit by Katsumi's move

Katsumi's original intention was to land crossways against the prone Catherine. Nothing but gravity and the weight of her own body, crushing her stomach. That landing was going to be brutal, though. Even with the padding on the outside, there's no flex in that floor. None. Her elbows and knees were going to be in agony upon landing.

As it so happens, Catherine was trying to pick herself up. And that... makes her landing a little less painful. She gets the benefit of impacting across Catherine's body before hitting the floor. It cushions her fall a little more! And is potentially a little worse for Catherine, forcing her to slam back down against the floor.

Either way, the springboard corkscrew plancha lands. Katsumi's midsection hammers into Catherine's body, and in the end, she's left lying across her opponent in a daze. She tries to get up immediately, but her body doesn't allow it. She quickly drops again, her sleek stomach coming to rest across Catherine's toned abs.

If they were in the ring, it could be a pin. But the referee is only watching from the perimeter, shouting.

"ARE YOU OKAY!? CAN YOU CONTINUE!?," she shouts over the cascading roar of the surrounding crowd.

Katsumi just ignores her. It's time for a second attempt to get up and capitalize on the situation, hoping Catherine's been well and truly crushed into a stunned state. Her palms plant to the ground, and she pushes herself up onto her knees. Then one hand goes for Catherine's wrist, the other hand reaching to take a firm hold of her hair. Pulling from both fronts, she drags Catherine up to her feet and turns her towards the ring. The hand gripping her wrist swaps to grab onto the hip of Catherine's trunks to help push her up onto the ring's edge, then push her to roll her beneath the bottom rope and onto the mat.
