I Will Be A Loser No More (for Highfly)

The ring shook as Alaina crashed into the mat. The effort of lifting the Amazon has been incredibly taxing, with Makie's muscles burning from the effort. For a brief second she had thought she was going to pull a muscle and injure herself, but she managed to lift the bigger woman, and, with a yell of exertion, brought her slamming down to the mat! Her heart leapt in her chest as she lay flat on her chest, catching her breath as she pulled off that heavy move.

Slowly, she rolled back up, and saw Alaina gingerly picking herself up even as she continued to instruct Makie. ""Whoa," she gasped, "hold up, are you okay? I didn't mean to hurt you just now." Although a part of her knew that it would take a LOT of effort to seriously injure someone like Alaina Sanders...

"I am fine, I have been thrown around once or twice before in all my years." Alaina said with a nod as she got up. "Okay so I am gonna step up and grab hold of you to lift ya up and slam ya down, suplex you or give you a backbreaker. As I grab hold..." Alaina said, grabbing Makie between the legs and around the shoulder. "...you punch my mid-section, hook your leg around mine or even both to stop the lift turning us back to a reset position. If I am in shock from not lifting you grab hold of me and then you give me a taste of my own medicine. I am gonna try to lift you now and you block like I said and give the lift a go!" Alaina said. "Use your back, legs and arms all together when ya lift you will be surprised at what you can do."

Makie was somewhat reassured when Alaina told her that she was fine: the Amazon seemed to be signaling that Makie could pretty much hold back a little less with her attacks in this training session. Even so, Makie was still somewhat taken aback when Alaina instructed her to punch her midsection the moment the Amazon lifted her. "Wait, are you sure--" she began.

She didn't get a chance to finish, as Alaina was grabbing her around the shoulder and thigh, lifting her up for a classic scoop slam! Without thinking, Makie lashed out with a fist, hammering it into Alaina's firm abs. Then, remembering Alaina's instructions, she would shake her legs free and wrap an arm around Alaina's thigh. Hooking the other arm around Alaina's shoulder, she would let out a loud yell of exertion and arch back, trying to throw Alaina overhead!

Aliana felt the force of the lift and Makes punch as the amazon was now the one going up! Alaina made it pretty high into the air before a crashing return to the mat leaving her laying there for a moment before slowly rolling over. "Good! You can transition to a suplex or an old fashioned backbreaker like that too, that lift gives ya options." She said as she took a deep breath slowly rising back to her feet. "It was good, we can try it again if you like."

Once again, Makie felt the muscles in her back protest as she lifted Alaina backwards. But she lifted her, that was the important thing: her lower center of gravity allowed her to tilt backwards and throw Alaina overhead, sending her slamming into the mat with a tremendous crash. For a few seconds, Makie lay on her back, huffing as she caught her breath, before rolling up to her feet again. Sure enough, Alaina was rolling up to her knees as well, looking like she had barely taken a hit.

"T-thanks," Makie breathed in response to Alaina's congratulations, before raising an eyebrow. "A...backbreaker? On someone your size? Are you serious?" The thought of lifting Alaina up onto her shoulders and stretching her sounded like a surefire way for Makie to injure herself. "Or do you mean, like, me slamming you down across my knee?" That still sounded implausible, though.

She slowly stood up, shaking herself off. "If you want me to try again, though, then sure!" she said with a nod. Taking a few seconds, Makie would dive low, once again grabbing around Alaina's thigh, trying to grab her shoulder or the back of her head with her free arm and, with a tremendous grunt of exertion, would again try to flip Alaina over her shoulders onto the mat!

Alaina felt Makie lift her again after a planned failed lift attempt by Alaina with the amazon crashing down hard to the mat. She shook her head and took a few deep breaths before rising back up. "Good, you slam hard, you know that?" Alaina said. "Big ladies hate the shock and embarrassment of someone smaller slamming us around and our size crashing down creates a big impact." Alaina added. "I know Aurora found that out against me and I still need to get my payback."

"How are ya feeling Makie?" Tina asked as she walked around Makie seemingly looking to make sure Makie didn't over-exert herself.

Makie collapsed onto her hands and knees, panting for breath. Her back and shoulders burned from the sheer effort it had taken to lift Alaina. She felt like she had nearly dislocated something in the effort. But at the same time...she was amazed that she could do it in the first place. The fact that Alaina acknowledged that it had been a hard slam sent a thrill through Makie's heart. Holy crap, I can actually do this!

As Tina checked up on her, Makie nodded. "Y...yeah, I'm okay," she breathed, slowly pushing herself up to her knees. "That...was just a lot, that's all. I'll be fine." Looking back at Alaina, Makie raised an eyebrow. "Aurora...Aurora Lund?" She had heard vaguely that she was another big name in the women's heavyweight division. "She a rival of yours? Pfft, what am I saying...you're the former heavyweight champ. You probably have plenty of rivals."

Alaina sat up and laughed. "Aurora Estrella, one of the SWAT Kats." Alaina said with a laugh.

Tina stood with her hands on her hips, shaking her head. "We were so close to those tag titles... I got hammered and taken down hard by Kat." Tina said. "Alaina here got scoop slammed on the ramp and laid out three times in a row by a lightweight. It wasn't our finest moment but that team is something else."

Alaina closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "It was not at all our finest moment. We'll be back though and we're facing off against Nashi and Yukiko for a different promotions tag titles soon. Getting some gold will be quite good because we feel we're good enough as a team not just as individual wrestlers." Alaina said before changing the subject. "So... how do ya feel? Do you want to do a bit more or have we worn ya down?"

"Oh." Makie blushed a little in embarrassment. Of course Alaina had meant the SWAT Kats-- arguably the most famous tag team in LAW. Alaina had fought more than one high-profile match against the Kats' leader, Kat Hart, a woman who was every bit a powerhouse as the Amazon.

"I guess I owe it to myself to go back and watch a few more of your tag matches," she said, looking to both Alaina and Tina. She smiled. "I wish I knew what that's like, because I honestly feel like I'm the opposite. My brother and I, we are a great team; it's just that when I'm fighting on my own that it feels like I keep falling short. Either I'm absolutely going to tune in to watch you two against Nashi and...Yukiko? You don't mean Mighty Yukiko of Wrestle Angels, do you? Tall, pink hair, lots of attitude?"

As Alaina asked if she was ready for another go, Makie moved to hop to her feet...and paused as pain flared in her back. "Agh...g-gimme a few minutes," she said, dropping down onto her butt again, clutching her back. "Sorry, I'm...not that used to throwing someone your size, Alaina." She took a deep breath. Only a minute or two, she told herself. Then she would absolutely take on whatever lesson Alaina and Tina had for her next.

"So, um..." she added, awkwardly, "the SWAT Kats...you think you might take them on again? Or are there any other rivals who you still really want to beat?" She took a deep breath as she eased her back. "Or do you just let whatever losses you had just stay in the past?"

Alaina chuckled a bit. "Nashi and Yukino, I misspoke earlier on accident." Alaina said. "We fell just short but other teams are in line here in LAW." Alaina said. "Ya have big time teams, some mid-card ladies like Irish Oldschool too. I hope to face the SWAT Kats again though solo or as a team." Alaina said. "As for teams we have fewer rivalries going than we do solo."

Tina nodded in agreement. "We will face off again as a team soon I bet. However Makie ya look gassed. Maybe we call it for today?" She suggested.
