No Tourists in My Ring

The doors to the L.A.W. gym swung open with a sharp bang against the wall.

In walked Rianne Evans, earbuds in, jaw set, already in her workout gear — tight black leggings hugging her powerful legs, a dark red sports bra showing off her toned abs, blonde hair pulled up into a high, messy ponytail. A light sheen of sweat already glistened on her skin from the run over.

She didn’t come to socialize.
She came to graft.

Her boots thudded against the mat as she stepped inside, rolling her shoulders loose. She peeled one earbud out—

—and stopped.

Someone new.

A wrestler she didn’t recognize was working inside the ring. Moving around like they owned the place.

Rianne’s eyes narrowed.

She slowly reached up, pulled the other earbud out, letting it dangle around her neck.

“…You avin’ a laugh?”

she muttered under her breath.

She stepped closer to the ring apron, arms folding under her chest as she looked the newcomer up and down — not impressed.

“Oi.”

Her voice cut through the gym.

“Didn’t know this was open season for randoms. You new, yeah?”

She leaned one elbow against the apron, head tilted slightly, eyes sharp.

“‘Cause last time I checked… this ain’t no tourist attraction. So unless you got clearance…”

She smirked faintly, but there was no warmth in it.

“…you might wanna tell me why you’re usin’ my ring.”

Kaelara had been mid-air when the gym doors crashed open, executing a flawless moonsault off the top rope that landed with a soft thud on the canvas. She’d just rolled to her feet, golden tailfeathers fluttering dramatically, when Rianne’s sharp voice cut through the gym like a whip.

She turned, hazel eyes widening slightly at the sight of the blonde powerhouse leaning against the apron, radiating territorial energy. She ran a hand through her sweat-dampened black hair, pushing stray strands from her forehead as she sauntered toward the edge of the ring, stopping just a foot from Rianne.

"Tourist attraction?" She leaned forward, resting her elbows on the ropes, mirroring Rianne’s posture but with a playful twist to it. "I just thought this ring looked like it needed a bit of company." She gave a little shimmy as a warm giggle escaped her pink lips, the peacock feathers on her hips swaying with the motion. "Kaelara Tripathi, also known as the Peacock Goddess! And you are?"

Rianne’s smirk faded the moment the words “Peacock Goddess” left Kaelara’s lips.

Her brow twitched...Not even gonna answer Kaelara's question...

“…Goddess?”

She slowly pushed herself upright from the apron, rolling her shoulders before dragging a hand through her blonde hair. Her eyes raked up and down Kaelara’s flashy feathers and dramatic stance, the look on her face somewhere between disbelief and pure irritation.

Then she barked out a short laugh.

“Blimey… listen to this one.”

Rianne stepped up to the ropes, gripping the top strand as she leaned in close, her Cockney accent thick with attitude.

“Peacock Goddess? You serious right now?”

She gestured lazily toward the feathers on Kaelara’s hips.

“Wot, you nick those from a fancy dress shop on the way ‘ere?”

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

“‘Cause if anyone’s the goddess in this gym, sweetheart… it’s me.”

Rianne tapped a finger against her own chest before pointing toward the ropes.

“So ‘ere’s wot’s gonna happen, yeah?”

She jerked her thumb toward the floor outside the ring.

“You’re gonna climb through them ropes, grab your little feather costume, and jog back out the door before you embarrass yourself any more.”

Her lips curled into a cocky grin.

“Otherwise… I’ll happily pluck that peacock myself.”
