I Will Be A Loser No More (for Highfly)

As Tina spoke, Makie felt her fists tightening. By the time Tina finished, Makie was practically quivering with rage.

"Except Danica didn't just beat me," she growled. "She stripped me in the middle of the ring. She humiliatedme. And I was powerless to do anything about it!" I--"

She cut herself off at this point. Tina was doing her best to help her, she told herself: it was unfair of her to take her anger out on her.

"I'm sorry," she finally breathed. "I've just been so...frustrated. Not long ago they pitted me against some girl who was near the bottom of the rankings: the best I could manage was a draw against her. The only time I've done well is in a tag team with my brother Kyo. Tina...what if I'm not good enough for LAW?"

Tina shook her head once Makie went into detail, and not at Makie either but at the situation she found herself in. "Ugh... I always hated that kind of thing. I am sorry you went through that it is just... wow." Tina began to say before trying to keep her own anger from rising. "There is a reason I stick with wrestling and all that ya know? If I look good throwing someone around fine but I wrestle to win not for the other kink stuff. Whoever did that to ya should have been fired." Tina said.

"Okay, round two." She said trying to use training and smashing the bag to get Makie's mind off that terrible incident. "I saw ya wrestle Peggy. Her and Lauren both struggle and have been on the release bubble before only to come back, barely. If they belong here so do you. Never think you don't. If you didn't you would be here under contract would ya?" Tina said.

Makie blinked in surprise at Tina's comment. The first thing that she wanted to say was You know Peggy? She had no idea who this Lauren person was, but Makie wasn't exactly in a hurry to run into Peggy again-- not outside of a rematch, that was. If Makie was honest, she was still angry with the way their match had ended, and how the match had just turned into a mindless brawl. Given all the harsh words that had been exchanged between them, Makie was not too overly fond of Peggy McIntyre.

But it was the other thing that Tina mentioned that had caught her attention.

"You watched my match?" Makie had figured that none of the other wrestlers in LAW bothered watching her matches unless it was to scope her out; Tina didn't need to do that, as she had already beaten Makie quite soundly in the ring, so this came as something of a surprise to her. Despite herself, she soon found herself blushing, but quickly nodded as Tina hoisted the bag up. Once again, she attacked it, but this time her attacks were methodical, precise...not the angry barrage of punches and kicks she had been unleashing earlier.

Tina nodded as she held the bag. "Yep. I watch the shows when I can. I want to see what people are up to in the ring and how they are coming along so I watch as many matches as I can." Tina said. She was watching the clock and the timer was set to end soon, at least she thought. Makie was hammering the bag and Tina was impressed that she wasn't gassing out at all. "Keep it going, keep it up!" Tina urged as she knew the end was coming.

"I think we'll be moving on to something else in a moment. Keep up the strikes though, give it everything!"

Despite herself, Makie found herself smiling now even as she smacked away at the bag. Hearing that Tina had actually watched some of her matches what not what she had expected at all on coming here; it was incredibly encouraging to know, in that moment, that she had a fan here in the LAW roster. A fan, granted, who had clobbered the crap out of her previously in the ring, but still, it was good news all the same.

She smacked the bag with a left, and a right, then whirled around to nail it with a spin kick. "If you saw my match," she breathed, "then you know that I nearly had Peggy! If I just hadn't lost track of the count out..." She leapt forwards at that point, her legs latching around the back as though for a flying headscissor takedown. Locking her ankles, she hung upside down from the back, breathing hard as she looked up at Tina with a smile.

"How's that?"

Tina watched as Makie jumped up and attempted a hurricanrana on the bag which equally impressed and confused Tina. "That is good... not part of the exercise at all and you still had time left." Tina said. "You both had a chip on your shoulder and it looked like you were both fighting as if you were trying to keep a roster spot. You have been told you are too small and only good as a team while she was fighting like someone who has always been called the chubby girl her whole life." Tina said.

"One more round of strikes and then I think Allie will be here. She'll take over with some other stuff. If you want to use peoples own stuff against them she can help with that." Tina said as she started the clock for a break.

Smiling up cheekily at Tina, Makie allowed herself to drop to the mat. Rolling up to her feet, Makie resumed attacking the bag, unleashing a lightning-fast barrage of punches and kicks at it. At this point, she was starting to work up a sweat, and was panting steadily as she relentlessly attacked the bag.

"I don't...care about her sob story," Makie breathed as she continued to attack the bag. "I just want to defeat the bitch." At this point, admittedly, Makie was starting to have doubts, as she was seeing a number of parallels between Peggy and herself: parallels she didn't want to think about. As she continued her attack, she glanced at Tina.

"I just realized, we've been talking about me the whole time. How have things been with you?"

Tina listened and was quiet as Makie spoke giving the bag a pounding. "Not much, trying to build momentum but getting ring time on a stacked roster is not easy for anyone. Just trying my best while Alaina and I deal with the damn Harbingers who seem to always want to bother us for something at every turn." Tina said with a shrug.

She called for time and was about to speak when Alaina walked in. She was wearing white spandex short shorts, and a white sports bra. "Hey, sorry I am late. How is everything going? What have ya done so far?" Alaina asked as Tina waved.

"Mostly trying to tire her out and she's gone a few rounds on the bag." Tina said. "We're gonna switch up though now that you are here. Anything you want to do?" Tina asked.

Alaina looked at Makie and smiled. "I have a few ideas but how are you feeling right now?" Alaina asked Makie as she approached.

Makie raised an eyebrow at Tina's reply. "The Harbingers?" she echoed. She hard heard vaguely of that tag team, but had never seen them in action. "They have beef with you?" She flashed Tina a wry grin. "I so then they must be either really strong or total idiots if they want to take on Tina Fucking Armstrong. Oh, and Alaina--"

She was cut short as a newcomer walked into the gym. She wasn't wearing her trademark tiger-stripe outfit, and she seemed a lot more laid back than the towering presence that she usually was in the ring, and on posters...but there was no mistaking the red-haired powerhouse that was the Amazon Alaina Sanders, former LAW Heavyweight Champion.

Makie felt her heart skip several beats. Holy shit Tina you weren't kidding, she thought, staring in wonder as the Amazon made her way towards them, doing incredibly mundane things like apologizing about being late, asking about gym routines and...

She stopped when she realized that Alaina was asking her a question. Up close, the Amazon lived up to her name, practically looming over Makie.

"Um...er...g-great!" Makie blurted out awkwardly. She realized she was blushing a little. "I, uh, never felt better, Ms Sanders, hehehe!"

First Makie had met her longtime idol, Valley Doll, and now she was meeting another lady who was practically one of the big names of LAW. This week just kept getting more and more unexpected, but Makie was hardly complaining.

Alaina heard Makie speak and she let out a small laugh. "Just call me Alaina. I already feel old enough without having others on the roster call me Ms or Mrs." Alaina said with a smile on her face. "I also hear you like surprising your opponents huh? If ya like we can get to work on helping ya shock bigger ladies like me by hitting some slams or suplexes if you like." Alaina said as she leaned against the ropes looking to see what Makie wanted to do to try to keep the training going today.
